One Was Bad Enough!

cloverfield.JPG

With the success of Cloverfield's opening weekend, bringing in over $46 million, Paramount is planning to create a sequel to the film that made many people upset.

With all the complaints moviegoers had and refunds they requested (because the movie made them so sick), will the sequel make as much money?

Don't think we'd pay for another couple of hours of nausea!

Will U go watch it?

i loved the first one. i love monster movies and i honestly thought it was made very well. i think people who went in to it expecting something are the ones who thought it sucked. and honestly if you get motion sickness that easily you shouldnt see it. you should know better.

    so im excited

    106

    hell no!!!!!
daymn.the only reason whay it did so good, was because they paid SOOOOO much in advertising it.It's all i ever heard on the radio.comercials for cloverfield. And they played the commercial 2 times every 10 minutes on MTV
the movie itself sucked.just because they did a bunch of advertising…im telling you

Of course I'll go see it! It was a fun, visceral movie! I haven't heard any reports of people trying to get refunds, that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Don't go see the movie if you're gonna have seizures and bitch about it, stupid!

and do people not remember people getting sick when they saw the blair witch project? it was on the news and everything when it came out. People knew what kind of camera work was going to be in the movie, its their own fault they got sick.

People are so used to being forced fed the same shiz every
year , same story , same plot same ending.

  32. you are dumb says – reply to this

    132

I get motion sickness pretty much everywhere (car, plane, boat, etc) and was fine at this movie. Just don't sit up close (you shouldn't do that at any movie anyway).

  33. Tony says – reply to this

  34. TONYA says – reply to this

AND YES I WOULD PROBABLY SEE THE 2ND ONE….BUT IT HAS TO BE A DIFFERENT MONSTER….MAYBE THEY HAD 2 MONSTERS ATTACK THE CITY….BUT WE ONLY SAW ONE FROM THAT POINT OF VIEW CAMERA?

  35. Jen says – reply to this

    135

I WILL GO SEE IT!!! I LOVED THE FIRST ONE!!!!! I think people are just pissed because they didn't always get answers to their questions about the movie. That and the ones with the weak stomach probably had something to complain about. NOT ME!!

I need some damn closer for that abrupt ending in the first one!

AND, I really want to know what brand and model the camcorder the young folks used in the movie. It had major battery power and was super shock resistant!
    LOLOL.

  44. Jordan says – reply to this

    144

Watched it. LOVED it! but they don't need to cheapen it with a sequel.

  45. Daryl says – reply to this

    145

Yes, I'll go…if its well done. I like the first one and think it lived up to its hype—unlike, for example, Samuel L. Jackson's much hyped and very lame "Snakes on a Plane".

    152

Great movie but I have not seen so many people whine like slack-jawed pussies since Perez started backing Obama. Once you w00sies take out your weak vertigo issues (real men dont have motion sickness but if they did they would not whine like bitches) then youhave some good opinions about the movie. IMAX has this same issue and I hear one NONE about those. Pansey asses.

    153

OMG i saw this movie just last night. Why on earth did i not hear that it was filmed like that! I was alright until there was strobe lights! My friend had to leave half way to throw up… and threw up again at the end. I actually thought it was a pretty good movie except for the extreme dizzyness. I still have a headache & i dont think i'll be going to see ANY movie for a while lol!

  54. LEELEE says – reply to this

    154

what the fuck is wrong with people…someone finally does something different to when making a movie and people freak out and say it made them sick…the home made video style was not even close to the filming of the blair witch project…get the fuck over yourself and shut you damn mouth because someone went outside of the cookie cutter style of movie making…I'm so excited that they are making a sequel…

My son and I went and I was pretty impressed with it. We cracked up at the hand-written sign in the ticket window stating that it may cause motion sickness (which my son kinda got) but, definitely not worth making a second one. After seeing the movie, I can't imagine how they will start a second one. Maybe have the creature go to a different city? Fuck who knows. We'll see how they portray it in the previews I guess.

Re: Angelica – What a dopey thing to say… "what's the point of a sequel?". We still don't know anything about what it is. Where it came from…the universe, a failed lab experiment, son of godzilla? Ha! It's begging for a sequel. Someone finding the camera and watching. What is the significance of the title? I swear…so many people anymore are distracted simpletons like you 'who can't see the forest for the trees'…and actually have no clue what that saying even means. Admit it..you really don't. Cloverfield was great in that…they did it on a small budget, created all the hype basically on the mystery, had no known actors in it making it not only cheaper to make, but FAR more interesting and more realistic, and ended it abruptly.

And to all the people that got 'sick' watching it? WTF… That's either completely lame, or you sat way too close. At our theater the girl at the ticket booth told us to sit about 1/2 way back. Duh people…duh!

  75. T says – reply to this

    175

NO, wtf was the point?? The only reason it was popular was because JJ Abrams directed it. I heard it had some symbolism of 9/11, it sure came across when the girl who played Janice from Mean Girls head exploded. I was sick the rest of the night. I went to the same movie theater a week later and they posted signs saying "Warning! Cloverfield will make some motion sick due to the director's creative vision"

people need to stop bitching… a ton of people are shocked and get sick from too much gore in some movies, what do they do… get over it. just because people cant handle shaky-ness is their own fault. i have bad motion-sickness and i was fine. this movie was badass. people need to get the fuck over it.

I dont see which bit was paticularly gorey, after seeing a thousand movies along the lines of "hostel", i thought Cloverfield was a breath of fresh air to the horror genre. If horror;s not your taste, thats ok, personally i HATE the romntic comedy B.S hollywood churns out year after year

Hmm. Seeing that my friend was in Cloverfield and he probably won't be in the next one because, well, you saw the ending. But come on people who actually had a hard time watching the film? What are we, a nation of weak eyes? With all the texting, computing, downloading and multi-tasking we do- we can't handle a jerky movie? Palease. I will add though, they should film it straight next- cause doing the same camera crazy motion will be cheezy.

  86. Mars says – reply to this

    186

I'll go watch it as long as its done with a steady camera shot. Cloverfield did make me sick, but I liked it and I wanted some answers. I hope the sequel answers all the unanswered questions.

    195

HELL FUCKIN YEAH I'M GONNA SEE NUMBER TWO!!! NUMBER ONE WAS THE SHIT!!! Fuckin terrifying, but I loved it…I did get hella sick, but I still liked the movie itself…it seemed soo real…I can't wait for the sequel!!!

    196

uh, YEAH i'll go see it. it was amazing, an absolute piece of art. while i'm pretty sure it'll be the same thing basically, i still love this movie.
people only dislike it because its not your typical stupid story line and its edgy and new. the nausea thing i can understand but people should have known that was going to happen, i mean come on. sorry they couldnt give you picture perfect coverage of a fucking monster attack on a home video recorder. i know itd be SO realistic if they did. psh.
