One Was Bad Enough!

cloverfield.JPG

With the success of Cloverfield's opening weekend, bringing in over $46 million, Paramount is planning to create a sequel to the film that made many people upset.

With all the complaints moviegoers had and refunds they requested (because the movie made them so sick), will the sequel make as much money?

Don't think we'd pay for another couple of hours of nausea!

Will U go watch it?

4 of us attempted to watch this awful movie, after 45 min. we left and 3 of us were tossing our cookies by the time we got home. We couldn't even get our money back even if we tried because the warning sign at the ticket counter. Brillant stragedy.

I'll go watch it IF they use a steady cam. I left that first one feeling so sick. Luckily I was fine, just dizzy and nauseous, I do know of one guy who puked though.

  25. Jess says – reply to this

    225

when i went to see it, it seemed to me that people either loved it or hated it. those who hated it were definitely the over-30 crowd. the 20 year-olds, and surprisingly the critics, thought it was great. it seems perez was not it that latter group, but to say only that it made many people upset and mentioning ALL the complaints moviegoers had without saying it was a commercial AND critical success is a little one-sided.

  26. christina says – reply to this

    226

I totally LOVED the movie!! I was hoping they would make a sequel so this is awesome!!

  27. Deandra says – reply to this

  28. lindsay says – reply to this

    228

Dude okay, so cloverfield was sick. I didn't feel sick at ALL and i often feel nautious. It was definetly good, but far too short, which is why it might be a good idea to make a sequel. everyone who wanted a refurnd because it made them sick is just a cheap pussy. simple as that.

  29. Beck says – reply to this

    229

I have never left a movie before with the biggest headache and nausea.
Seriously, the only reason this movie made it big was because of the advertisements for it. Biggest blunder

  30. CHYA says – reply to this

    233

TWEENS- this describes the demographic that cloverfield is after. When we went: 1 30 female, 34 male, we could barely watch the movie due to chit chat around us> I love LOST, but this kind of thing makes me want to vote republican

  34. s.miller says – reply to this

    234

I loved it…will def go see the second one!

  35. Taz says – reply to this

    235

Hell yeah! Cloverfield was great, totally different from mainstream. I didnt have any nausea problems at all. The movie was great and you people who crave an "ending" really need to think outside the box for once. The movie raised a lot of questions and was a great topic to discuss with my friends after.

  36. ??????? says – reply to this

    236

F*&% no!!! That movie made me sooooo sick!!!! I got my money back and have been telling people not to go see it!!!

  37. CPW says – reply to this

    237

Um, hate to rain on this and all, but Monstrous was the original name of Cloverfield. They ran a series of 1000 movie posters and tested them with a focus group and it was determined that the name sucked. Some smart marketer turned the mistae into a concept by running a series of posters including "Monstrous," "Terrifying," "Scary," etc. While I'm not ruling out a sequel, this, my friends, is not it.

  38. staysh says – reply to this

    238

I worked at a theater when Blair Witch came out and I MUST say….you've heard the reviews, so don't go see the damn movie if you have even SLIGHT motion sickness. You'll save yourself AND the theater employees a lot of disgusting drama.

  39. Mark says – reply to this

    239

of course! The first one was brilliant and a kick in the pants that the monster movie genre needed!

  40. Cyclops says – reply to this

    240

Fuck yes I will! That movie was freakin' awesome! People who were "made sick" by it were either:

I actually went to see the movie and 15 minutes in had to leave for fear I would throw up. At least 2 other couples ended up leaving the theatre. Each one looking sicker than the last. One girl had to stop half way through the theatre to compose her self and try to talk her self out of being ill.

    282

umm cloverfield was amazing all those fuckers with motion sickness can get over it!! CLOVERFIELD 2!

  83. Jacqueline says – reply to this

    283

I thought that the way that they decided to film it was quite artistic, albeit a little annoying. I honestly don't understand how it could make anyone feel sick, though. It wasn't that bad. Seriously. Besides, the theater that I went to even had a warning sign posted saying that the film could cause some people to have motion sickness. I just thought that they had to have that posted so that stupid people wouldn't complain (you know, like when they have to put warning labels on hair dryers telling you to not use it while in the shower). Anyway, if you did experience motion sickness, it's your own damn fault for deciding to go watch it. I swear, after reading so many of these whiny and bitchy complaints, I'm all for Social Darwinism.

  84. Jade says – reply to this

    284

i will go see it whoever says that it made them want to throw-up is stupid there just drama queens it was not as bad as people made it out to be.

  87. dwayne says – reply to this

  92. tip says – reply to this

    292

The concept of the movie was easy to get wrapped up in. It almost seemed realist. Even though I moderately liked the film I did have to stop watching from time to time and would probably not watch the sequel if filmed in the same manner.

  93. claire says – reply to this

    293

i will go see it not cause i liked the movie at all but because i just want to find out what happens… but it was a horrible movie

  98. Magee says – reply to this

    298

You kids can be so cynical and short-sighted.

It was a fantastic concept: certainly comparable to Blair Witch, but mostly I compared it to the '38 CBS broadcast of War of the Worlds. I have read that if a sequel was to happen it'd be the same attack from a different POV; not trying to brag for a movie that it's an original idea–just fun yet interesting entertainment.

I wish I lived in NY, just the number of movies in the last 10 years that decimated Times Square! There will never be a movie made about San Antonio and the destruction of the Tower of Americas or Durty Nelly's!

  99. Maggie says – reply to this

    299

I was so sick when I watched that movie. I wanted to leave not 5 minutes into the movie. I didn't get to watch any of it because I had to have my eyes closed. Even then just the spinning of the only light in the theater made me sick. The first and only movie I have ever walked out of.

  100. David says – reply to this

    300

YEP! As long as it wasn't filmed like the first one. I wanna know more about that heinous creature!
