One Was Bad Enough!

cloverfield.JPG

With the success of Cloverfield's opening weekend, bringing in over $46 million, Paramount is planning to create a sequel to the film that made many people upset.

With all the complaints moviegoers had and refunds they requested (because the movie made them so sick), will the sequel make as much money?

Don't think we'd pay for another couple of hours of nausea!

Will U go watch it?

Cloverfield was incredibly creative. It totally surprised me because I was expecting a typical monster movie. I must say I was riveted from the start but didn't get sick like some of these pussies. Yes, I'll definitely go see a sequel but it must be carefully thought out like this one. If they produce a piece of shit just to get it out, I'll be pissed!!

  8. erica says – reply to this

    308

HOLY SHIT YES. i'd definatly go see it, the first was AMAZING. they better not make the second one really lame like most sequels are though..

r u pees kiddin' me? this movie was so freakin' awesome. no, it was not ur typ movie, and no, it was not for the easily naseauos, but the filming style was in the way that i would image it would be to live thru the situation. so much goin' on that u don't kno where to look, where to go and just tryin' to survive. i am not saying that this movie was the best (furthest from it), but it was interesting in the story (and not giving away too much was key to this type of movie), filming and experience. i cannot say with all certainty that i would go see the sequel, but don't knock this movie for being different.

    315

HELL NO! I hated that movie, about 25 mins in the flick I had to put my head down just to try and get rid of the nausea. The saddest part is that even though I tried not to get sick, it happened anyways. It just had to be THE WORST date night I have ever had. I felt so bad for my boyfriend who has to survive my barf breath all the way home!

  16. ME says – reply to this

    316

But of course I will see it. Sit in the back, pussys, if you get sick.

  17. Mandy says – reply to this

    317

    319

I'll watch it. The first one was good. It's not the movie's fault that people are too stupid to figure out whats going on. Yay for a sequel.

  20. jasmine says – reply to this

    320

no way would i see a sequel… the first one made me SO sick i left the cinema twice, tried to come back and watch it (even closed my eyes for a while) and ended up walking out pale and nauseous after about half an hour.

Heard it wasn't worth staying for anyway

Probably, I knew what to expect. No surprises there.

  24. NYC 2 LA says – reply to this

    324

The only thing about the movie was good the effects. Other than that a video camera that never failed, girl exploded and a crow bar in her chest but should could run 5 min later. Not looking forward to the second one but suspected it. Blair Witch rip off. O and the story line to get to the ex girlfriend. Give me a break

  25. sammy says – reply to this

    325

i refuse to go watch it if its going to be filmed the same way. i couldnt walk after watching it and someone in the front row threw up all over the floor! i do however want all of my questions answered!!

  26. brittany says – reply to this

    326

    Re: Natalie

yeah i have never seen a monster attack a city before, gosh that must be the innovation you are talking about or no wait my bad i think i am wrong, you must mean the filming technique…oh no wait i have seen that before too…

you have no clue what you are talking about…

  27. Firstladybt3 says – reply to this

    327

Oh hell no, I would not watch no sequel to this piece of crap. I only wished someone would have told me how bad it was before I actually spent someone on the first one. So far the worst money of the year, but I'm sure they will be plenty to follow.

"27 Dresses" beat it in Box Office in week #2, bet it drops off the top 10 in week 3. Teens will flock to anything claimed 'must see'. How about waiting a week to see if most people truly liked it and not going along with what the 'cool kids' see?

  41. Maggie says – reply to this

    341

YES! ABSOLUTELY!!! I loved the movie! And the people who got sick should have taken dramamine before hand. Everyone knew that this was shot like a handheld and even my movie theatre told us… it's their own fault

  42. modge says – reply to this

    342

shoot, i got my $16 bucks back!

  43. peg says – reply to this

    343

i thought i was alone getting sick with this movie.. i was at lincoln square in new york watching this movie when after the first 5 mins made me totally sick. i keep going back and forth in the restroom just to wash myself up to recuperate but everytime i come back, it makes me extremely dizzy and want to throw up. so i decided to just close my eyes for the rest of the movie and just listen since my bf wants to finish it anyway.. but still… the movie sucks, it really doesnt make sense… a big monster in new york city and there is no ending.. so pls… god, no!

  44. JosephNYC says – reply to this

    344

I loved this movie! A sequel would be fantastic!!!

  45. Nate says – reply to this

    345

Yes, I'll see it more than once. The first one was amazing…. just cuz you can't stomach it doesn't mean its a bad movie. Take some gravol beforehand, wimp!

  48. lisa says – reply to this

    348

Definitely will see the sequel!! This movie rocked!! I get motion sickness bad and I was fine. People are such babies!! Well done, different and innovative. So many people don't like different, they hate anything outside of the norm!

  49. Janessa says – reply to this

    349

I think its lame that people think it was a bad movie cuz they get motion sickness. They did an awesome job with that movie, nothing was overplayed or too exagerated. I mean, it would never happen, but say it did, thats exactly how our country would react. It was good, get over the camera, i thought it was brilliant.

  50. clovercunts says – reply to this

    350

Fuck this movie i got my money back thank god, shit honestly during the first five minutes i was so annoyed that is was 'home video like', i was just thinking i hope this is over soon and he stops annoyingly filming this chick, then when it got good and i wanted to see what was going on it was like i couldnt because it was so fucking shaky, i didnt puke but i wanted to so bad i left right away even my freind was sick, STUPID fucking movie since the previews did seem cool. all tease. vertigo? this movie would make ANY FUCK Sick, how did it make so much money? it shouldnt of even made 75 cents.

  51. patty p says – reply to this

    351

i thought the movie was actually amazing!! after the first few minutes where you suffer from nausea, it really isnt that bad (nothing like the rollercoaster featured on blair witch). i also liked the concept of the movie. sequel? all i have to say is FABULOUS!!!

  52. patty p says – reply to this

    352

i also think that seeing the monster dive into the water as they pan out into the ocean in the final coney island scene made it all worth while! :)

  53. Jessica says – reply to this

    353

Um yes, greatest movie ever, hello? Those who complained about dizzyness are just fragile little wimps. How on earth do they manage to sit through home videos? OMGZ THE PICTURE'S MOVING, YA'LL!!1 Every movie of genius has to have it's critics.

    Bring on the sequel.

  54. allo' says – reply to this

    354

I would definitely see a sequel - - but not made by the same crew? I dunno. we'll see how many continuity issues pop up…

  55. allo' says – reply to this

    355

but Cloverfield - F*CKING ROCKSSS. Great movie, good scares, great monster, crazy f*cking 'bugs', didn't want the ending, but it worked!

  56. Fallon says – reply to this

    356

How could you not like this movie? I was at first annoyed that it was done like the Blair Witch project but then about 15mins into it REALLY REALLY liked it. It made it far more interesting than other movies. It wasn't so hyped up here, I Am Legend was and I personally thought that was the shittiest movie I have seen in years. Cloverfield was wicked, and yes I'll be watching the sequal for sure!

I LOVED THE FIRST ONE. Was so smartly handled. I was on the edge of my seat for most of the film. I would be interested to see where they go with a sequel. So yes i would pay to see another one.

  61. Verodemort says – reply to this

    361

FUCK YEAH I WILL!! I loved the movie, it was badass! When I went, nobody got sick and everyone seemed really impressed, but I guess if I ralphed because of a movie I wouldn't be so hot on it anymore! :] It was shot like as if you were there with them, and I thought it was great. It made me laugh, it made me tear just a little, it shocked me, all things that are great to experience in a movie. I just hope they answer more questions this time!! It surely seems like its either hit or miss with people- either people absolutely love it, or they hate it.

  62. Melissa says – reply to this

I got over the camera 5 min into the movie, but it was hype and JJ name on the movie that made me see this garbage. I will not see the sequel. This was a bad no matter how you look at it.

  68. Taylor says – reply to this

    368

YES!!! Maybe this time it will be shot differently and acutally answer questions. so there will be more backstory, without the idiots in the first one, and less nauseating camera movements.

  69. sara says – reply to this

    369

haha omg that hand held shaky camera was crazy. but i'll probably wait till the sequel comes out on dvd to watch it

  70. emily says – reply to this

    MAYBE.

if there wasn't any video cam shoot throughout the show. it makes me dizzy.

no more handy cam shot!!! its irritating.

Waaaa!! I was born and raised in New York and LOVED the movie….bring on the sequel!!

  84. Al says – reply to this

    384

Thats not a sequel poster. I listened to an interview with the cast on Opie and Anthony and the poster that says Monstorous was actually a name that was thrown around as a possible title for the first movie. They actually printed some of those posters to confuse people and lead them the wrong way. So dont worry.

This movie was sweet I loved it! Its not THAT bad with the shakiness, get over it and get some guts. It is a good and NEW concept and nothing like this has ever really been done except blair witch, which was really different cause no graphics or anything. It's too bad if you have a weak stomach.

    394

If you were really excited about the opening of this movie, you would have known going into it that it was filmed in a first-person perspective on a hand held video recorder. For all those that bitch about the movie most likely were dragged by their friends and didn't want to see it. I will definatly be a the opening of the sequel and enjoy all the extra seating room in the theaters because you weak-stomached babies won't be there…

  95. bronwyn says – reply to this
