The Hollywood community is still very upset at Entertainment Tonight and The Insider.
A behind-the-scenes campaign happened aggressively on Wednesday to pressure the shows not to broadcast that Heath Ledger video everyone was talking about.
Several top publicity companies threatened to never give the shows access to their star clients again. They caved.
However, we're told that many are still upset because ET and The Insider made it seem like Heath was doing drugs in the video.
He was not, a person who has seen the full clip tells us.
Additionally, when the shows aired a preview of the video, they showed a clip of Ledger saying, "I used to smoke five joints a day for 20 years."
However, what they didn't show you was that afterwards, he said , "and that's why I got this tattoo [an M, for daughter Matilda] to remind me never to smoke weed again."

First of all if he smoked 5 joints day 20 years ago, that would have made him either 5 or 6 years old…and of course they left out the whole part about his M tatoo.
Apparently these wonderful gossip news shows smeared him and since he isn't seen doing drugs they really had no choice but to pull it because how bad would they have looked showing a video that has no proof of him doing drugs.

Hang on a minute….The video is two years' old, so he was 26 at the time. Heath (alledgedly) says he had been smoking weed for 20 years, that makes him 6 years old when he started!!!
This sounds highly unlikely and a bit of a fake. It's easy for people wanting to make money out of the tragedy to come out with shit like this as he's not here to defend himself.
Why weren't these claims made earlier? Why didn't that video leak at the time? He was getting all that publicity with Brokeback, so tabloids would have loved that kind of crap. But it didn't come out because it's probably some kind of fabrication.

This video or any other negative reports about Heath Ledger do not change the way I look at him as not only an amazing actor, but an amazing human being. I'm not going to believe what the media says, because like ET & The Insider, all other media sources are trying to throw Heath's name in the dirt, and they should all be ashamed for their lack of class and respect for Heath Ledger, who was taken too soon. None of these reports take away from the fact that he was an extremely talented and promising actor, and an incredible father to his daughter Matilda. He was a loving son and a brother. He was a friend and a face for real talent in the film industry. It breaks my heart that the media is so vicious and conniving, especially when it comes to death. Heath was loved by the world, and he will continue to be loved by the world.

I am in Australia on vacay…they showed the footage here and sadly…he snorts SOMETHING off of a table. And then is shown telling someone else in the room that he had a daughter '3 months ago' and named her 'matilda rose.' It sounded like he said he used to smoke two joints a day..not five.

I find it hard to believe that a tape from 2006 would have him saying that he smoked 5 joints a day for 20 years… if you do the math he would have only been 6 when he started weed and that seems young to me… especially to smoke 5 joints!
It's so good that his peers have put pressure on this broadcaster and that the tapes were not aired, although they had already aired lengthy trailers so they'd had their moment. Shame on them and shame on the producers who thought this newsworthy. What appears to be the most newsworthy part of the story is what the DIDN'T SHOW - namely that he didn't do drugs at any point on the film. So bang goes the exclusive and all you have is dirty rumour and scandalmongering. If it is true that he says that he had a tattoo of an M to remind him to stay on a straighter path, then the love of his daughter would have been the strength he needed to stay away. The point is he couldn't possibly have smoked any joint 20 years ago. This video was shot in 2006 and he was 28 when he died. This means he would have smoked his first joint at age 6. Seems unlikely. Because the quote says he smoked 5 joints a day for 20 years, this would mean he not only started smoking weed at 6, but smoked 5 joints from age 6 all the way to age 26.
