At least the debate was way more civilized than the Republican debate the night before. It's nice to see both Hillary and Barack came together as a party and focused on issues rather than attacking one another as they have in recent weeks. Super Tuesday should prove interesting for all remaining candidates in both parties.

I remember before the war in Iraq w/all the discussion about authorizing the war and whether or not Sadaam had weapons of mass destruction. I have to admit I felt very bad for Sadaam, seriously!!! I knew he wasn't a threat to this country and he always tried to appear strong and in command on his released videos, but it always appeared to me he was really weak on the inside (almost like a Superiority complex).
I remember my husband (who is republican) was very supportive of Bush and the war. I repeatedly asked him "what did Sadaam do???" And I have to say, with the knowledge that rogue countries CAN sell weapons to terrorists, what right does the American government have to tell other countries what they can and cannot do? Why does America have the right to have weapons and boss other countries around, rogue or not?
Everyone knows that Sadaam was responsible for many atrocities now right? Gassing that village of Kurds? Aren't you a little bit glad he was taken out?
Even though I agreed with Obama about the war issue so many years ago, I'm voting Hillary. Hillary did the research and investigation to come up with her decision - a well thought out decision (not just backing Bush blindly). I see Obama using a lot of other people to help him come up with his decisions or basically just going with his heart. That's not what I want in the White House.

Hillary did a great job spending a lot of time talking about the details of the policies or issues that are IDENTICAL to the ones that Obama has - so good on ya Hillary for explaining the details to people - saves Obama having to do it - BUT the point of the debate was to talk about their policy differences, given that 90% of the policy 'details' are identical for both. On this, the TASK AT HAND, Obama clearly won the debate.

The people who want to bring our troops home are not neccessarily against having a JUST war - if we were REALLY fighting to protect America - they are against THIS war. This war went from going into Afganistan to capture the 9/11 terriost (mainly Bin Laden) to sliding on into Iraq to fight for their democracy?!?! Bush simply had a personal issue with Saddam and he (Bush) is a serious maniac! I am not anti-any war - I'm anti THIS war. Trust me -if we were REALLY capturing the 9/11 terrorists, we would have gotten Bin Laden and I would 100% support that. Bush just used Afganistan and Bin Laden to gain public support and get funding to send troops to the Middle East - then he totally flipped the script on us. Afganistan should be a parking lot by now and we SHOULD have Al Queda in our hands right Now. But, we don't. They are still out there because of Bush focusing on Iraq democracy!!!! At Bush's State of the Union, he said he is SENDING OVER 3,200 MORE troops to Iraq now - WHAT?!?!? He is nuts. He does not care about average Americans. Period. End of Story.
Firstly, his healthcare plan means that anyone that wants to buy insurance can get it, children must be covered and young adults up to age 25 can be covered under their parents policy. However, he does not make it COMPULSORY for everyone to BUY health insurance - BECAUSE while everyone WANTS IT, not everyone can AFFORD it. Hillary's plan will take away your choice - you HAVE TO fork out money for it, even if you are on the bones of your butt - and if you don't you might get punished with fines. She says the subsidies are enough for everyone to afford but Obama disagrees and thinks that we need to bring the price down further so POOR people can AFFORD it (then, and only then, might it be possible to require all people buy it). Can you imagine what kind of side effects Hillary's plan could have on poor people because they are forced to buy this but can barely afford to live? It compounds their situation. Obama leaves you with CHOICE. Here he clearly shows being in touch with the issues of poor people and if you knew his background you would know why. His mum lived on food stamps for awhile bringing him up.
Hillary tried to talk her way all around the decision to vote for war in Iraq, saying she was really only allowing Bush to put UN inspectors in - BUT as Obama pointed out - the cover page of the law said something to the effect of 'permission to go to war'. Hillary voted that way because it was POPULAR to do so at the time. Obama spoke out against popular opinion. So who is tough eh? That's just two examples, there were more where he wiped her up. And for those who think he can't handle the Reps - he handled the Clinton's, who reckon only they are tough enough to overcome the Reps - so why did he overcome the Clinton's then eh? Why have they experienced such a backlash and lost support? If the Clinton's can beat the Reps and Obama can beat the Clintons then Obama can certainly beat the Reps - that's logic people - Reps usual tactics won't work against Obama. People would have you believe he is an empty suit - but I tell very strongly he is NOT an empty suit. He is MUCH MORE than inspirational speeches (which, btw, you guys need that too). He is the complete package.

PS. Clinton would wish for a Clinton/Obama ticket - but Obama would never go for 'big corporation/lobbyist' Hillary and wouldn't want to go down with her ship.
If Obama won, he would give Clinton a respectable position in cabinet, but having an Obama/Clinton ticket would be the kiss of death for him - she has too much baggage and the Reps would be firing away on the VP all through the run up to the Presidential election.
Word if that Edwards might take an AG role, but I personally would prefer to see a Obama/Edwards ticket.
As far as her position on voting for the Iraq war, my question is this…Obama was not a member of the U.S. Senate nor privy to the same intelligence and information as were those Senators who had to make a choice and vote on what to do. Seventy or so Senators voted for it. Had Obama been there and faced with the same facts, who knows how he would have voted? We'll never know. Remember, no one knew at the time that the intelligence was falsified or that Bush was such a liar and fanatic.

I hate to remind Hillary, but Pres Bush walked into the oval office with a ton of problems waiting for him too. Problems that werent taken care of from the previous administration (Clinton)… like our depleted military…. that we were so desperately going to need within 9 months of Bush coming into office (i.e 9/11)!! So for as much as she thinks there will be alot of cleaning up to do for her or Obama …. there was plenty that Bush had to do as well. There will always be garbage to clean up from the previous administration. She acts as though Bush single handedly put us in a hole. The war should be over… that's a fact. But he needed to defend our country and unfortunately we had to go into debt for it. Clinton screwed up homeland security and our military… two things that were crucial ….. 9/11 happened because of what HE didn't do while he was in office! Hopefully the next President doesn't only have big ideas…. but he/she puts them in motion.
Oh - I forgot - the only thing that Obama has done is vote against the war; he didn't push through the national children's health care program, like Clinton, that my children have personally used during tough times. He hasn't helped refugees in war-torn countries and has relationships in other countries already, like Clinton; he hasn't attempted to push through an "unpopular" health care plan through a hostile congress/senate, like Clinton -while she was ONLY the first lady. In fact, while she was first lady, she changed the stereotype of that job. Look at the facts, people. Obama is only talk and doesn't have a track record like Clinton, the stronger candidate.
I remembered the Bush clean up after the Clinton's slime left from Monica, Jennifer, Paula and the cigars. My children in the 90's wanted to know what was oral sex. That was that nasty impression that was left from the Clinton's. Yeah, don't forget! "I did not had sexual relation with that woman". Wagging his fingers to the American people with their lies. Clinton didn't broadcast his private affairs, the media did. And stopped our military and civilian teams from helping for days!!! Wrap some facts around that bacon fat you call a brain!!!

Both candidates had their strong points in the debate, but Hillary came off the best. She is a lot stronger than Obama is when it comes to the issues of health care, national security and the economy. Obama voted against the war, which is about the only strong point he made. Overall Hillary has more command and is more presidential. Obama would make an excellent VP though.
