Why are they arguing about whether or not disadvantaged citizens should get their healthcare insurance funded? Of course it would be irresponsible of the government to gamble on INSURANCE for healthcare for all and funding the fat-cat insurance companies helps no-one. Overhaul the system entirely; bring in universal healthcare for all where treatments are DIRECTLY PAID FOR BY THE GOVERNMENT and where possible, hospitals nationalised.
Currently we pride ourselves on being a developed country, the greatest in the world, but how can that be when we are so pathetically poor both economically and morally, as this. No other self-respecting developed country would fail to implement a national health service.
Understand also that being ‘a Democrat’ does not automatically make a candidate liberal. Far from it. Indeed neither Obama and Clinton could be classified as ‘Liberal’, so there will be little change other than a simple desire for change for change’s sake.

I didnt like how Hillary used immigrants as the reason African Americans are losing their jobs. I didn't like that one bit. She should have told them that people are losing their jobs because when Bill Clinton was president he signed a bill to outsource jobs overseas. That is the reason many people cant find jobs in America because all of the good jobs are gone overseas. Thanx to the Clinton Administration! Universal health care is what we need. Two years ago, I was uninsured and diagnosed with cancer. I couldn't afford the premiums because I am self employed, plus I am young and that was the last thing on my mind. Right now I am in remission and cancer free, but it has been one heck of a journey. I saw first hand how the health care system is run. It definatlely needs fixing. The care is mediocre and the costs are phenomenal. Universal health care is doable a lot of other countries do it why can't we at least try? It would be nice if all Americans had the same health care and access as our elected officials do.

Perez, thank you! Great discussion and really great points have already been discussed. I thought the debate was great- they both addressed really tough questions and acted like leaders.
I wish Hillary had left her little story in the beginning out though- an unemployed African American asking her about illegal immigrants. She's gotta stop this Black/Brown thing though. She's getting ribbed for that on a lot of political blog boards.

Both Barak and Hilary's policies both make good sense. Their division on healthcare however is not great enough to warrant making a decision over.
Barak needs to learn to be use his words carefully. His comments quite often alienate different groups here and there.
For example in the debate Thursday.."We are actually paying for a dietitian for people to lose weight as opposed to paying for the $30,000 foot amputation."
Who is to say that people overweight do not constitute a health issue, or should not be covered in a health system. It sounds like we would have to argue who won't be covered with him. He is not thinking when he says things. (I'm not fat btw)

Okay. I respect all of these people who are rooting for Hilary. However, do you guys even know how to back that up? I feel like so many people don't even watch the debate and pick whoever they think is better without the legitimate information. I have soo many reasons why she and Bill should not go back into the White House. Research some information on the Clinton's while they were in the White House. They are the definition of corrupt politics. I'm a liberal but if Hilary is the Democratic candidate…I'm going for McCain. I believe Hillary Clinton made her case on the economy and on health care. She has the specifics on how to improve our economy and our health care system. Obama's views on economy and health care are vague and broad. On the Iraq war, both candidates have plans of getting our troops back home ASAP! Go Hillary!!!!!
