Winehouse Taken To The Hospital

This is actually good news!
Amy Winehouse was taken to the hospital this week.
The singer was suffering from dehydration and needed to be put on a drip to get fluids and essentials back in her system.
Wino's hospitalization was needed, her father says, because she had been vomiting a lot - one of the symptoms of withdrawal.
Withdrawal is good! It means Amy's not back on drugs, hopefully.
Mitch Winehouse said the star was moved to a hospital because her rehab facility did not have sufficient medical facilities.
"Everything is going according to plan and she's perfectly OK," Mr Winehouse told BBC radio station 1Xtra, adding that she was now back in the rehab clinic.
Nice to see Amy is sticking with her treatment!

Sorry, those two aren't even in the same league as Amy. Remember that Amy is being compared to Sarah Vaughn, Billie Holiday and other icons of music. Plus Amy writes her own songs and she's a very gifted writer.

I'm so happy about this….I really hope she'll be okay! And just so some of you know, rehab facilities are not hospitals…sometimes if people are having more severe symptoms, they have to go to one for a little while. I also really really hope she drops her loser husband…he's disgusting, and I blame him for Amy's drug use.

This is progress. I hope she can stick it out and rehab and dont rush back into the music. She is arguably already after only one "commercial" album one of the best singers in this decade and she's only 24. I love her music and hope she can successfully recover because if she relapses and goes into a drug binge the results will most likely be fatal. Hate to sound harsh but her drug problem is very serious. I would say the same about Britney but there is just a whole speculation about whether she is on drugs. She might be but Winehouse's drug abuse is well noted in the video footage and her husband saying they do hardcore drugs. Get better Amy. I hope to produce a song for you in the future. I love all the crazy speculation about dehydration being a symptom of alcohol poisoning and bulimia and so on as though it's surprising a person in withdrawal is dehydrated. Dehydration is not at all unusual in addicts because all the constant drinking and drugging depletes the body of water and vitamins. Add regular vomiting on top of that and it's easy to go over the edge into needing an IV. Ever been to an ER for a sickness? You are almost always hooked up to an IV right away to get your hydration in order. It's not a big deal and in her case it's good to know that she's being taken care of and is going along with her treatment (and not checking out!).

If she is going through withdrawal it is from the alcohol and not the coke okay? You don't physically withdraw from cocaine, your body is not physically dependent upon it like heroin; you go through mental withdrawals from cocaine so she is on something else or just a plain alcoholic.
