The people here are rude, ugly as fuck, & this state has a higher teen pregnacy rate then the South. which i'm sorry says a whole hell of a lot. there absolutly nothing here to do other than go to the mall, a hookah lounge, or the ever popular among high school crowds go hang out at Dion's. This is true. I grew up in Albuquerque and loved it. I think New Mexico has some of the BEST food in the country. It is New Mexican cuisine not Mexican, yes there is a difference. Garduno's used to be good but is just okay now. Las Palames along with many other local favorites (Stuffies, Garcias, just to name a few) are amazing. Garcias has the best chile buritos mmm. The mountains are beautiful and fun things to do there like hiking, going up the longest tram in the world, etc. The balloon fiesta is the largest in the world. It's not LA which makes it special. Do NOT go to New Mexico expecting craziness. New Mexico is a great place to relax. I would highly suggest it for those celebrities in need of time away from the paparazzi (Britney).

I'm a New York and lived six years in LA, and travelled many continents, but have chosen New Mexico as home. It is easily the most authentic, diverse, gorgeous, culturally rich place in the country. And the food hear sublime, addictive, and often adventurous. Never set foot in a Chiles.
Alba obviously does not like her chile and stacked green or red enchildas, tamales, and moles. Or maybe she doesn't know about them because she spends her time in Walmart???

I used to live in Nuevo Mexico too, but I think she is WRONG! Maybe there isn't a bunch of places to shop or whatever it is people do in big cities… But there is so much natural beauty in the place! Just out of the city there is SO MUCH to do mountains you can ski or hike in, caves you can explore, the white sands, and the beautiful sunsets. I mean I can go on… Anyone who can't appreciate nature needs to wake up and stop being so superficial. There is more to life!

The Essencia, Sadie's Cucinita (stuffed sopapillas!), The Artichoke Cafe, Rio Grande Cantina, the CINNAMON ROLLS at THE FRONTIER! I remember the ground-black-pepper coated juicy, thick steaks at the old BANQUE restaurant at the top of the tram. The best bowl of french onion soup I ever had was Room Service at the La Posada Hotel. And when you go thru the McDonald's drive thru…you can get FLAVORFUL GREEN CHILIS on your hamburger! The only place in the country, I think? Do you KNOW how much better a burger is with green chili on it!? I grew up in ABQ and although I wouldn't live there again it certainly has more to offer than Wal-mart. The world longest tram, old town, hiking in the mountains, playing disc golf, tons of museums. And the food is what I miss the most. They actually know what green chili is in that state. El Patio on 2nd street rocks the world. Nothing like sitting under those giant old trees sipping a margarita and having some green chili enchiladas. I have to say I'm offended by her statement. She is more than welcome to not come back.

Is Abq the greatest city in the world? Not by any means, but it is a wonderful city to live and deserves more credit than she gives it. Our city is diverse and rich with many different cultures, races, and beliefs. As for our resturants, I wouldn't expect Ms. Don't Call Me Latina to know delicious new mexican food if it slapped her or cash in the face. I've only been to Albuquerque once (I'm a Dallas/Ft. Worth TX native and resident), and coming from where I live, it really wasn't THAT bad. There's still a lot to see/do. It's pretty different from what I'm used to, but all-in-all, I liked it!! Hell, I wouldn't mind going back soon. One other thing–yeah, as some of you mentioned, Garduno's is pretty good food, by the way.

Ok, I'm from Albuquerque and I am sorry I must stick up for it. Are there a ton of fine dining restaurants? No, but there are a ton of authentic New Mexican food restaurants that are delicious! Is there anything to do in that town? No, not so much, but seriously, read a book, or furthermore brush up on your acting skills. What really upsets me is how she doesn't hesitate to put a place down, not realizing how many of her fans live there. I mean be a little more aware of your fan base and who you are marketed towards.
