The only manner in which Oprah would influence my vote would be to become even less likely to vote for Obama, because she is the ultimate example of just how much he has become (and is marketing himself as) a celebrity, as opposed to a serious political presence and potential president.

Cant stand her. Shes a deterrent in my opinion. The brainwashed women who worship her show prob couldnt make a political decision anyway so i guess it doesnt matter!

She has no influence. Anyway, it is more admirable to have the New York Times endorse you.

    121

I'm not American and thus cannot vote, but if I were and I could, I would be listening to the platforms of the delegates and not who they bring to the circus tents with them. Based on her intellect, emotional intelligence (ie. ability to get along diplomatically with leaders of other countries), experience and vision, my vote would be for Clinton. She would (will?) do much for the advancement and repair of the US's reputation on the world stage. Thanks, Jane

Love Mama O, still Hillary all the way baby!

  23. dina says – reply to this

    123

i hope people dont vote for him just because oprah supports him. this isnt like her book club where you read what she tells you too…this is far bigger than that and I hope people are capable of making their own decisions!

  26. James says – reply to this

    126

I met Barack in Iowa and I just have to say he is an amazing person in real life very genuine and inspiring. I hate to see all this fighting between Democrats. My sister works for Hillary, but I feel like Barack has destiny on his side. All I can say is he is the real deal and I think he can change the world for the better.

  30. lindsay says – reply to this

    130

oprah has a lot of influence on my vote. i trust her judgment, that she's looking out for the right things in a candidate. her endorsement of obama strengthens my conviction that he is the right candidate.

  31. ali says – reply to this

    131

    hell to the N-O!

  32. heatherrr says – reply to this

    132

even though im liberal i picked hillary on my absentee ballot, obama seems like hes into the celebrityness to much to me

  33. anna says – reply to this

    133

Who would base their vote on what a TV star says?

  34. Bex says – reply to this

    134

NOPE! I like Oprah, but she and other celebs do not influence my vote. I think for myself.

Hillary gets my vote in CA! Go Hillary

I respect Maya Angelou's opinion more than Oprah's anyway. But still I think for myself, Celebs have the right to voice their opinions just like we do. It's sad if one allows themselves to vote for someone just because some famous person endorses them.

    HILLARY '08!!!!!

    Hillary '08!!!!!

  35. leaVEyoURcommeNT says – reply to this

  38. zanzouna says – reply to this

    138

No, no, and no. Oh wait… did I say no yet?

  39. dana says – reply to this

    139

she has no effect whatsoever. I feel only people who can't think for themselves will support a candidate because oprah is backing them

  40. Zander says – reply to this

    140

You're a racist bigot, Perez. So, the strategy of the big, bad black man is to "lure" women to vote for him. It's not that his campaign is rationally using Oprah to bring attention to the Obama campaign in the hope that women would hear his message. Instead, he's luring them.

    Burn in hell, idiot bigot.

  41. pat says – reply to this

    141

Of course Oprah has influence over every idiot who can't decide for themselves who to vote for. Ask any Obama supporter what his stands are and you'll get a blank face. But he's cute and speaks well. Try reading a newspaper and maybe even do a little research into who you vote for. You may be surprised at what you find out. This country is in huge trouble.

  42. Gloria says – reply to this

    142

Oprah nor any other Endorsement has any influence for my Vote.

I Already Voted Absentee for HILLARY '08!

  43. FratBoysLikeBush says – reply to this

    143

Well, for upper middle class bitches (and Peggy Bundy) she is the perfect compliment to their bonbons! Merely look at how she has had an author on her show and almost immediately their novel is a best seller. Women probably will care what she has to say… and those women are LEMMINGS!

  44. Valerie says – reply to this

    144

Actually, the latest Rasmussen poll has Clinton with a very narrow 3-point lead over Obama in California. This was also taken on January 30, which was before the LA Times endorsement (first since 1972) of Obama and also the Oprah effect. Seems like the tides are turning in California. Glad that the tides are shifting the right way - thank you California!

  45. shella says – reply to this

    145

    YOU BET SHE DOES

  46. OMG says – reply to this

    146

All of you people who say you will vote for another canidate simply to spite OPRAH are complete and utter IDIOTS. Do you think Oprah would know in any way whatsoever that you voted opposite just because? You have mother issues. Get over it and do what's right for the COUNTRY, not some childish, teenage need to SPITE someone. Geesh.

  47. softshelly says – reply to this

    147

I like Oprah, but I don't like that it's more important for her to be a black than to be a female. Even Maya Angelou (Oprah's mentor) is supporting Hillary. Now THAT'S class.

  48. Abby says – reply to this

    148

    heck yes it does

  49. Tanya says – reply to this

    149

If it was not for Oprah…I would have voted for Obama. She is a joke.

  50. onemomwhosnuts says – reply to this

absolutely the opposite. I hate oprah and love hillary. nice try, media conglomerate…not gonna work on this 20 something women

  53. Grace Kim says – reply to this

    153

No, Oprah's invovlement will NO EFFECT……HILLARY ALL THE WAY!!!!!!!!

  54. JENNA says – reply to this

    154

MUCH LOVE TO OPRAH, BUT THIS MAN SHOULD BE GETTING THE VOTES BY HIMSELF. IF HE WINS, IT WILL BE BECAUSE OF OPRAH, NOT BECAUSE OF HIMSELF. ITS NICE THAT OPRAH SUPPORTS HIM, BUT DOES SHE HAVE TO FOLLOW HIM EVERYWHERE JUST TO ENSURE VOTES? SHOULD EVERY CELEBRITY DO THIS? IF THAT HAPPENED, WE WOULD NEVER HAVE A GOOD PRESIDENT. VOTE BECAUSE OR THE PERSON AND THEIR VOICE AND BELIEFS, NOT BECAUSE OF THEIR ENDORSERS. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE BARACK LOSE JUST TO SHOW THAT CELEBRITY ENDORSEMENT IS NOT THE WAY, AND JUST BECAUSE IT IS OPRAH DOES NOT MAKE IT AN AUTOMATIC VICTORY.

  55. Oprah doesn't have any influence over me .... says – reply to this

    155

    … PERIOD, never mind voting.

  56. gigi says – reply to this

    156

Heck No! I have made up my own mind and will vote for Hillary. Obama is a wonderful speaker but that's where it stops for me. In fact I think when celebs endorse candidates to the degree that Oprah is, it's a bit of a pathetic tactic.

  57. justme says – reply to this

    157

    yeaah right!!!
she' s just an entertainer she doesn't know a jack about politics!!!
i already made my mind … and she can goes back to her couch whinning on tv, where she belongs!!

on another note : after that keep saying that no race card is played!!! she just backs him because his black!!! talk about racism…..

the two of them can fade away now we have an important matter to sort out on tuesday

ps: i'm latina he'll never have my vote, he suddently remembered us like two days ago!!!!! and suddently he became bilingual………GO FIGURE!!!

  58. WHATEVER says – reply to this

    158

OF COURSE NOT. HIS CAMPAIGN IS A JOKE. WHAT'S NEXT? IS HE GOING TO BRING DON FRANCISCO AND CRISTINA TO LURE HISPANICS TO VOTE FOR HIM?
    HE IS A JOKE
    HIS CAMPAIGN IS A JOKE
I AM GLAD HE HAS TO -HAS TO- GO WITH MOMMY OPRAH ON CAMPAIGN. THAT JUST SHOWS HIS WEAKNESS. WHY CAN'T HE STAND AND FOR HIMSELF AND CONVINCE WOMEN? …BECAUSE HE HAS NOTHING CONVINCINGLY TO SAY. HIS HEALTH PLAN IS WEAK. HE HAS NOT EVEN CLOSE TO ENOUGH EXPERIENCE. IN OTHER WORDS, OTHER THAN THE """TRIUMPH""" THAT A BLACK WOULD BE PRESIDENT, HE HAS NOTHING TO OFFER POLITICALLY.

  59. Ashley says – reply to this

    159

Oprah and Hillary both have no effect on my voting! I am a Republican and will be voting for McCain!

  60. CG says – reply to this

    160

No. If anything it hurts his campaign. Better to leave the "Big O" at Harpo studio.

  61. Barbara says – reply to this

    161

It is a shame when America has to rely on "celebrities" to tell us what we should think..that's pretty shallow I think. i make up my own mind. They are not celebrities because of their intelligence.. so why should I be listening to someone who is probably dumber than I am?

  62. Britt says – reply to this

    162

    Helllll nooo. CLINTON 08

  63. Waverly says – reply to this

  68. NICO says – reply to this

    HILLARY ALL THE WAY!!!

    Oprah can suck it!!
    Obama needs a back bone.

  69. Common Sense says – reply to this

    169

I wouldn't vote for Clinton or Obama no matter what Oprah or anyone else had to say. I think that they should both just give up. McCain all the way!

  70. Scott says – reply to this

    170

    No!
I'm voting for the candidate with proven leadership and experience. The candidate that will actually get something done. The candidate who will actually help people, not just talk about it. The candidate that will give a voice to the voiceless. I'm voting for Hillary Clinton!

  71. Common Sense says – reply to this

    171

I wouldn't vote for Clinton or Obama no matter what Oprah or anyone else had to say. I think that they should both just give up. McCain all the way!

  72. Mama says – reply to this

    172

Obama can't do anything on his own. He has to call in Oprah to get him his votes. How pathetic!!

As for Oprah, it is pretty clear why she is backing him. I mean really, can anybody be so blind not to see it? She's never backed ANYONE for president before, but now she thinks HE'S the most qualified?! The boy has NO experience.

  73. jimmyjazz says – reply to this

    173

I DON'T KNOW. I GUESS IT'S NOT A CONFLICT OF INTEREST SINCE SHE'S NOT A NEWSCASTER…AND CELEBRITY ENDORSEMENTS ARE NOTHING NEW. SHE DEFINITELY HAS A LOT OF INFLUENCE. I KIND OF FEEL BAD FOR HILLARY. PROMINENT WOMEN DON'T SEEM TO BE COMING OUT FOR HER AND THEN THE KENNEDY ENDORSEMENT…….KIND OF MEAN I THINK…..

  74. perk says – reply to this

    174

Do we really want Bill Clinton's bags back in the White House? Do we want the Clinton paybacks? Think about it people. I am a white middle aged grandmother. Please consider Obama.

  75. Lori says – reply to this

    175

    VOTE REPUBLICAN……………..ALL THE WAY

  76. AmandaJean says – reply to this

  77. bakes says – reply to this

    177

Most women arent that stupid to vote for Obama just because Oprah is–

  78. Michelle says – reply to this

    178

    Go Hillary!

The way people campaign is ridiculous. I would hope people wouldn't change their vote just because Oprah says so, but unfortunately, I shouldn't be that hopeful, because this is America and they did vote in George W. Bush twice. When you think people can't get any dumber, they always do.

  79. swampass says – reply to this

    179

I have never watched an episode of Oprah's show, so why in the world would I care who she endorses for President or anything else for that matter. Couldn't care less what she does/says.

  80. SHERISE says – reply to this

    180

HELL NO. I CAN MAKE MY OWN DECISIONS. THANKS!!

  81. Heck no says – reply to this

    181

Heck no!! she doesn't influence my way of voting. I don't even watch Oprah. She is too much of a hipocrite for me. I am not a fan of any movie star, with that said. I don't respect a woman that would rather sit and drink champange with a done wrong actress and also share her stage with a mom of twins who publicly faunted her affair with a married man and then married him. And yet will not sit and talk to a power couple that is out there helping third world countries and helping build N.O.

  82. starpurple says – reply to this

    182

I can't stand Oprah. I might have voted for Obama but not now!! Oprah has turned me against him. Yuck.

    Yes, she does!

  84. Agnacious says – reply to this

    184

I think most woman want to be told what to do, so yes, this will influence their vote.
    .
I love this women who say "I decide on my own", but first they check with everyone else to make sure it's the right choice.
    .
I predict an Obama surge from women who "decided on their own" and suddenly "decided" to vote for Obama.

  85. I_love_Obama says – reply to this

    185

    What mama O says I go :)

  86. Say nO to O says – reply to this

    186

Nothing Oprah says or does has any influence on me. NOTHING.
She'd promote Michael Vick if he were running for Prez, after all, they're all black. It's a race thing. With black people, it always is.

  87. lindaJ says – reply to this

    187

She said the Dr that killed K.Wests mom was good,
she backed the guy who wrote a book full of lies (million little peices)
and she backs Dr Phil and Rachel Ray…I don't think she is a good judge of character.
GO CLINTON!!! It took a Clinton to clean up after the first Bush and it will take a Clinton to clean up after this Bush!!!!!!

  88. latinbarbie says – reply to this

    188

HELL NO THE MUTHER EFFIN NOOOOOO
    GO HILLARY!!!!

obama is acting like a little boy now thinking that "just"becuase he has oprah people are going to choose him over hilary

im sure american women are smarter than that
    OBAMA IS NO UNEXPERINECED

    HILLARY HAS EXPERINCE

  89. Jen says – reply to this

    189

    NO Way!!!

  90. Madonna says – reply to this

    190

Honestly - I am ashamed of her. I'm fine with her supporting Barack but just not in the way she is doing it. Contribute with money, but keep your mouth shut. Even if she was backing Hilary like this (love Hilary) it is still the wrong thing to do. People should vote for who they believe in not because Oprah is stamping her approval on him. It's not damn book. It's our country we are talking about.

  91. Sarah says – reply to this

    191

hell no! That woman is annoying and overrated …
although her and Obama could tell us their experiences with cocaine and crack.

  95. Jem says – reply to this

Absolutely Not. Vote based on what you believe - Not what some celebrity says. GO HILLARY!

  96. Hugo says – reply to this

  97. hammer says – reply to this

    197

Oprah should not affect anyone's vote.
    That's just STUPID
and if you vote for Obama b/c Oprah told you to
    then you are STUPID

    HIllary!!!

  98. Ash says – reply to this

    198

THis is crap Oprah needs to just stay home! If Obama cant get the ladies to vote for him then he needs to just drop out.

  99. Lexi says – reply to this

    199

This makes me not want to vote for him, so I won't. How sad that's the only way he can get votes. I'd trust Oprah for her advice on Christmas gifts and the best interior designer, BUT NOT FOR WHO SHOULD RUN THE COUNTRY!!!! She's a talk sow host, not an ex president or hig ranking politcian. Her opinion on this pone means sqaut!

  100. Jamie says – reply to this

    200

The "Oprah Effect" turns me against Oprah and Obama. I am voting for Hillary and nothing, not even Ms. Winfrey herself could sway my vote. The more she campaigns for him, the more it irritates me!!!
