Britney's stay at UCLA Medical Center's psych ward is going to be extended.
Spears, who has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, will be staying in the hospital for another 14 days.
And hopefully she will receive some kind of outpatient treatment after that!

Britany being bi-polar makes a joke of all the people who do have this serious mental illness. She may have clinical depression, but really - being bi-polar is something diagonsed long before now, if she truly has it - ask Sally Field for example. This is yet another attention-grabbing measure, and Britany trying to excuse some rampantly bad behaviour! Grow up - you have children you need to care for - btw - bi-polar is heredetary - have you thought of that before branding your family with a mental illness??
Under California law she gets a certification review hearing on the 14 day hold which will probably be scheduled for Mon, Tue or Wed at the latest. If she wins that, she gets out. Hearing is held at the hospital with an administrative law judge and it's 50/50 whether she'll win or not.
Even if she looses the cert hearing she can still be released sooner than 14 days. Most people on 14 day holds are released before the end of their holds.
Note I work in a CA psychiatric hospital and represent the hospital at cert hearings so I know what I'm talking about here.
Also, she could decide to sign in voluntarily and then the hold ends. I hope she'll do that.
If she's refusing medication, also expect a Riese hearing at the hospital this week as well to decide if she has the capacity to refuse/consent to meds.

never thought i would say this but… i hope she gets the help she needs… cleans up her act, and just MAYBE she will come out a whole new person and dump the losers/users/enablers in her life and get back with Kevin. With everything that has been going on with her… he seems like the only normal one. I think she is still in love with Kevin… that was her first love.

Just showing up at out patient does not mean you are taking your meds and following orders. That is the problem with most people severe psych problems, taking the medicine. How to you make someone take medicine if they do not want too? Alot of the most severly ill pysch patients drift in and out of hospitals or god forbid, end up on the streets homeless. NYC is one city that has the problem of people who are ill and have fallen through the cracks and have now taken up residence on a street corner, talking and screaming to themselves.

Actually there is mental illness in her family. Her grandmother had depression and committed suicide so it is possible that depression could run in her family. Not sure if it does, but just saying.

I think this girl had a postnatal depression after she had her youngest son that hasn't been noticed by her or the people around her. A postnatal depression can be cured very well when diagnosed in an early stage.
In Brit's case it's been going on for so long that it could've been developed into something worse especially considering the drugs she has been taking, that's kinda like a chemical reaction what went on in her brain.
I feel so sorry for her, i hope she will get well and get the treatment she needs cause it must be horrific for her and her family to go through all this and have the whole world watching you acting out. Regardless what everyone may think of her, we're all human and it ain't funny what's happening to her right now.
I'm glad at least that Sam Lutfi is outta the picture, i think he supplied her
with the drugs and i think he took advantage of her mental situation. If he was a real Manager he would've taken Britney by the hand to court to go and fight for her kids. Britney has money so they will kiss her ass like they always do. If you're poor and go to the mental hospital the first thing the nurses will do is STEAL your belongings. They empty your suitcase under the guise of "looking for sharp objects" then procede to steal your jewelry, any money you may have and your credit cards/ID. You'll never see it again. The orderlies are all off the sex offenders registry or right out of jail and will try to hump you if you're even remotely attractive and of course no one will believe you because you're the "crazy person". Don't even get me started on how they pump you full of drugs after a 30 second doctor visit. That's all they can spare if you don't have money or good insurance. In short, if you are poor avoid mental hospitals and take this person's advice not to do any kind of drugs or drink.

Looking at Brit's track record, it's gonna take her a very long time and I mean a very long time to get better. And even if they release her as an outpatient, she will forever have to continue to take psych meds.
In my opinion, I sure hope the hospital, doctor, her psychiatrist and her parents will try to keep her in the psych ward for another two weeks and then have her transferred to a mental institute until she can prove (and I mean really prove) that she's all mended. At the present time, she's categorized as a G.D. (Gravely Disabled). If any hospital staffs, her doctor, her psych and/or her family is reading this, please please fight to keep her in the psych ward for another two weeks and then have her transferred to a mental institute. And have her stay on psych meds for the rest of her life!

If Britney's released tonight, it would be a horrible failure on her parents' part, to keep their daughter held against her will for treatment of what doctors have reportedly diagnosed as bipolar disorder.

Word on Britney's floor (she has her own floor at the hospital) is that Patty Duke is trying to get an okay to film Britney's experience for Patty's upcoming documentary about being a manic/depressive or bi-polar. The reason Britney didn't want to talk with Dr. PHil a few weeks ago is because she has secretly agreed with Patty via her son, Sean Astin, to let Patty handle her hospital footage. This is causing a great deal of confusion at the hospital and for Patty, who is high-octane MANIC on a good day. No Red Bulls for her. She's pacing the hallway with her own digi-cam speaking into a tape recorder. Hasn't washed her hair in several days/weeks (we're talking about Patty here) and is hoping to get a special Oscar nod now that the award show is a "GO". She probably won't stay on her meds. Bipolar meds are typically mood stabilizers and anti psychotics, all of them make you really FAT! She'll probably gain 30-60 lbs on the major dosages they're probably prescribing her in order to get her stabilized.

meh I blame nicotine addiction. Even as an intergalactic overlord, I too struggle with the withdrawals of nicotine addiction. I can feel my nervous system behaving differently once I cut myself off from nicotine. Even between cigarettes, I find nicotine addiction creates increased emotional instability. Because of the withdrawals I'm facing, my plans for the initial invasion have been postponed. I just can't do the work I need to do without wanting a cigarette, it's very distracting and putting me through an emotional roller coaster ride. But once I get past the first month, I should be okay again, and my plans for invasion will resume.
I recommend the treatment of deep throat stimulation to deal with her depression.

Part of her problem is the pressure from the press and public to have a super thin body after having two kids. When she had her first meltdown she was on drugs to supress her appetite and hadn't eaten in 2 or 3 days. Your mind doesn't work well in this kind of situation no matter what. Secondly, she claims she doesn't want all the press attention, but if they ignore her she would be very upset. She is really screwed up and just needs to disappear and retire. She has enough money to last her the rest of her life. Maybe she should take up needle point or something to keep her occupied.
