Americans, in general, were adamantly against her so-called "health care" agenda she tried to foister on the American populace and shove down our throats during Bill's presidency. Between her arrogance toward anyone who disagreed with her, or heaven forbid challenge her, and the blatant lies about the effectiveness in countries who have such a plan, it was slammed down hard. I have no doubt, if she were laughingly made President of the USA, that she'd be slammed down again, - too many people are aware of the fact that such national plans do NOT work, and are also aware of the kick-back aspects that those of her ilk find so appealing. One way or another, though many in the Washington crowd continually sell their integrity (and votes) to the highest bidders, she'll still fail to push this off on the American public.
I know no one wants to hear the truth, but if it is Hillary vs. John McCain, which it certainly appears to be, she will be the SOLE REASON the democratic party loses the White House. Hillary's plan offers subsidies based on income level, but requires EVERYONE MUST buy health insurance. Income level is a crude measurement of what people can afford. The life situation of a person paying off a student loan is different from someone who does not have a student loan, for instance - yet they have the same income level. Obama's plan will make healthcare just as available, he just wont force adults to buy it. He is concerned that forcing people who are already walking a fine line financially to pay for something they can't afford could have serious knock on effects for them. There are many things that need to be fixed in society before you can be sure that everyone can afford it and thus force them to buy it.
And for those of you talking about free health care? There is NOTHING free about her healthcare plan - you WILL PAY - you WILL HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO PAY. She puts the word free in there to fool you - you look at that word and focus on that - it's not FREE people!

If you want to claim you don't want universal healthcare because it "force people who dont want it to get it " is completely idiotic. universal healthcare provides healthcare to the entire population whether they want it or not, it is their right to chose to use it or not. also, the argument is that universal healthcare dumbs down the quality of service, that is where capitalism comes into effect (it allows you to chose to have higher quality, but you will have to pay the higher cost). universal healthcare will provide a base care for EVERYONE, do you all know the number of people who cannot get care at this point? we aren't talking "affordable" because affordable is $0 to a lot of families in the world. coming from a healthcare family, my father who runs a hospital strongly supports the need for universal healthcare (and if anyone, he is the one who can benefit from not having it). the reason I do not support Obama is he has been so wishy-washy on his positions, and seems to just give up and answer with "i will do the best i can" (well duh, we need more than that). I am not a Democrat by any means, but the only democratic candidate I will ever vote for will be Hillary. Obama supporters, stop making excuses for his indecisiveness, and start pushing for real issues.

Germany has a universal health care plan, and my Grandmother lives over there. She hurt her back badly and had to wait months to be seen. When she finally was seen, they found out that she had broken her back and the soonest she could get it taken care of was going to mean she would have to wait almost 2 years. That is just ridiculous, and that is what is going to happen in the U.S. if Hillary is elected and her plan succeeds.
