I'll be happy with either Hillary or Obama - better yet, them both on the same ticket! Vice President, President… in any order.
Hillary's plan for universal health care is the thing that puts her one notch above Obama in my book.. It's something she has worked hard and long for and I think she could do it.
Rich or poor - we all deserve access to health care. It should be a basic human right. Not something we should have to worry about or avoid just because we don't know whether we could afford the bill. My Aunt had to stay in the hospital for 15 days, incurred a bill of over $100,000.. and then she died.
Creditors hassled my family for months, even though my aunt was an adult and we were not responsible. Hospitals don't care about people, health insurance companies don't care about people. It's all about the money.

The only thing universal health care will do, is to cause quality physicians to practice without insurance. Meaning, they will simply not participate in health insurance programs and demand cash. This is already happening all over the country. My son is autistic and we spend close to $20,000 in cash for his health care - payable to clinics and physicians who opted out of insurance programs. UNIVERSAL health care is not the answer.
For everyone that thinks this universal health care is such a great idea you need to dig deeper in getting the proper information on how it really works. It is NOT a good idea and will fix nothing. Countries that have this plan have already said that alot of people die waiting for surgeries that they need because they get put on a waiting list…. that is only one of the bad things with this universal health care. Stop believeing all the hype and start doing your research.
Yeah get ready to get a second job to pay for it, its no different than the insurance now only mandatory! Vote Obama he's making it way affordable so everyone can health care.

I am a Democrat, and I am surprised how much the Hillary factor has divided the easy-to-unite Democratic Party. I think it speaks volumes about what will happen in the US if she is nominated for President. Moderates & Independents do not think much of her. They will join McCain. So, you have liberals who don't see her vote for the war as to their liking, so they will sit this one out or go McCain. The Conservatives…? They'll vote for Satan himself over Hillary. Obama's plan is more flexible and allows people to CHOOSE to buy into to a comprehensive plan. Hillary's is a mandate that REQUIRES everyone to BUY. Hers will never pass dude, the doctors won't let it,and especially the republicans.

You guys, universal health coverage will NOT be free in this country. Please don't mistakenly believe that. You will have to pay for it- Hillary's plan requires that everyone pay for it, and Obama's plan allows you to pay into it if you want it. That's the difference between the two's view on healthcare. Obama's plan will be hard to implement, but Hillary's will be impossible. THe Republicans have showed you time and time again that they will not allow this to happen- Hillary tried to pass it for eight years while Bill was president,a nd Arnld S. JUST tried to pass it in Cali and got slammed. It just won't work.

pretty misleading statement. while in a perfect world universal healthcare would be amazing, let's face some facts, this is not a perfect world. First off, Obama will have all children covered. Second he will reduce prices so that healthcare is made affordable for all Americans. What he does not agree with is the mandate that all Americans MUST be covered or face a penalty which most likely will be a fine. How does that make sense. If someone feels they can't afford to buy insurance, how are they any better off by being fined for not having it. Some people are just scraping by and making hard decisions about where their money is spent.

As for other programs over the world many have to wait up to a year for an MRI, but that wouldn't effect our dear Hilary she get's free healthcare at one of the top facilities in the US and she will con't, I'm sure she wouldn't use her own system…

It's going to be like this, no matter how optimistic about the elections you are. Hillary vs. McCain. Hillary will win. You don't realize it, but Obama's demographic is much younger than Hillary's. The problem? The older you are, the more you vote. And I'm sure that the concept of socialized health care covering everyone is appealing to older voters especially - particularly the large group of baby boomers who are getting up there in age and needing more health care. But, if you don't trust the government, why would you trust them and their politics with this? WHY would anyone allow a GOVERNMENT MONOPOLY on the health care industry - the subsidies are what drive up the costs to begin with! Our nation is based on CAPITALISM, and it may be a dirty word to you, but that's the reason our country thrives, particularly in health care innovation. WHEN did our founding fathers list this responsibility among the enumerated powers in the Constitution? The role of our government is to protect us, provide national defense and infrastructure, and protect our rights. The Constitution limits government. Our founding fathers never believed in such a tyrannical, gigantic bureaucracy. God help us now. The "good intentions" of our government have screwed up everything. Those of us in our 30s and 40s during the 1990s watched the Clinton administration sell out to big business and the insurance companies the large demand for universal health care and continue undercutting American wage earners through "trade agreements" (i.e. investors' privilege arrangements). This Clinton is no different than the last one in that respect. Don't be misguided or manipulated by the rhetoric. Look at the actions and the results. Identify and understand the positions and actions of her advisors. She is the Big Business candidate.

I believe in Universal Healthcare. It is a scandal that the most developed and prosperous country in the world has people who can't get the basic medical care we need. Let's take a fraction of the money we spend in Iraq and spend it on us US (United States)
