Barack Obama's plan was rated and ranked much higher than Hillary's by independent health and policy experts. Perez, this is not where I come to get my politics and if you are going to be political at least present all sides accurately. Hillary's plan mandates healthcare so if you can't afford it it will be taken out of your pay check anyways. That's not what I want.

President Bill Clinton promised health care "for the children" in his second term too and it never happened for the children nor adults. Not a realistic promise to make in 2008 either.
Who wants universal health care? All that means is that people who work will have to pay more taxes to pay for health care for those who don't. Why should the working class have to pay for those who don't want to work to get health care. I'm sick of big government. It's the reason I have to pay for college, but yet a woman who lives with her baby's daddy gets to go for free and I pay taxes to let her.
That's "President Clinton," and "Commander-in-Chief" to you, dumbass! Nancy Pelosi is "Madam Speaker," not "Mrs. Speaker." Show some respect.
Of course you have to respect someone who is pushing universal health care, but she stopped supporting it when she was paid off by the drug companies in the 90s..and now that she is on her own administration she feels as though she will be able to pretend like she was always a huge advocate, even though she kept her mouth shut. She flip flops on her beliefs just like she does with the war.
Her plan also calls for charging people $3000 who refuse to health care. as long as the drug companies run america, health care will not be completely free..not for anyone certainly not for everyone.
While this country is in dire need of health care we are also in dire need of cleaning up the bush admin's mess overseas- which right now is more important economically and morally speaking. Hillary does not plan to take our troops out of Iraq anytime soon. Seems like Bush is running for a third term.

Forcing people to buy insurance is not what most people think of when they think of universal health insurance.
Don't say anything bad about the Hill. You know things seem to happen to people who go up against them, you know, they accidentally kill themselves, disappear. I think this Bitchh is dangerous and power hungry. We don't have many choices, but I for one don't want her selling nights in the Lincoln bedroom anymore. and there is indeed some people who get private insurance to complete the healthcare but ( and only ) to complete some "comfort expenses" ( example: you can go to the dentist 4 times per year for free, if you have to visit the dentist a 5th times you'll pay a percentage from your pocket but nothing crazy like 20 euros, this example is not for orthondontic treatment which is free till 16)
so people take a private insurance for only that purpose, and this private assurance is not that much expensive 40 or 50 per month for a FAMILY OF FOUR!!!

What I said is completely true.
She fractured her back and it was going to take months to be taken care of with the "free" health care policy. She went to a private doctor and had it taken care of asap; as it should have been. What is the use of her paying taxes for "free" health care if it is unable to get to people in a timely matter?

Unfortunately, universal health care is going to bankrupt our economy. I work in the health care field and many people don't make payments toward their bills even if they can afford to. They will go shopping, take trips, buy jewelry and the like but never pay a penny toward the medical bills. You would be amazed how many people who are on medicaid and charity programs can afford to pay for cosmetic surgery.

Hillary's plan will PUNISH people who choose not to purchase health care, for whatever reason. If they can't afford it, too bad. If they don't believe in the American medical system, too bad. universal healthcare isn't our answer. People should have to pay for it, even if it at a lower cost, if not then your drs offices and hospitals will be over run by people that go b/c they have nothing better to do, yeah some of them are sick but it has been proven that people that don't pay for their healthcare go to the dr. 10x more than people who don't, for bullshit reason that can be cure with over the counter medicines. If she really wanted to something for the country they should have laws against medicine companies that "buy" our doctors and spend thousands of dollars on them to get them to prescribe their drug over a drug that is equally as good, but cheaper. Thats why your prescriptions are so damn high. I had a doctor get an all expenses trip to the Bahamas w/ a fishing expidition, that what your really paying for, not the drug that cost less than that a dollar a pill to mass produce.

as a healthcare worker, i see the folks who already get "free healthcare" abuse the hell out of it. the patient with COPD who is on oxygen and wants to go downstairs to smoke (while he's in the hospital for not being able to breath)…or the patient that laughs that she ate a box of hot tamales and her blood suger was 400…universal healthcare would NEVER work in this country b/c we have sickcare…not preventative health care like france/canada have managed…obama believes in affordable health care…which i agree with…not universal.

wow, hillary could not be more wrong. as ambitious as she is, such a large overhaul of the current healthcare system isn't going to happen in the next 4 to 8 years. there are too many barriers from third parties, especially lobbyists from the pharmaceutical adn insurance industry. plus, a mandated healthcare plan penalizes those who cannot pay for the plan themselves.
obama's plan is much more practical and seeks to lower healthcare costs, perhaps the biggest barrier for the uninsured today. the approach obama takes has a much greater likelihood of being implemented, and is not logistically as overwhelmingly difficult as hillary clinton's. imagine overhauling thousands of hospitals in the country, the entire payment system, and disseminating information to 300 million americans. it's just not going to happen as hillary thinks it will.
Hillary's comment is an example of why I can't vote for her. She constantly twists the truth for her benefit. I've tried to give her a chance, because Bill was a great President.
Obama's position on universal healthcare is very clear. His plan is to make healthcare affordable, but you will have more of a choice than with Hillary's plan. With Hillary, every working American will pay for her plan. It will be deducted from your paycheck, just like social security. Hill's plan will cost taxpayers $110 billion.
Of course, after George Bush and the $3 trillion wars, either Barack or Hillary would be a huge move in the right direction.
I researched their positions, and most are very similiar. I prefer Barack Obama's plans and honesty.

First of all, if a small amount of money is being taken off you throughout the year this is much much easier to handle (especially if you're poor) than compared to randomly having to find $6000 or even $40 000 one day because you get hurt/ill.

We ALL need to go to the doctor and get healthcare, and it's not fair that people who are simply unfortunate to have been born with problems or to pick up problems/have accidents through life need to pay more simply due to bad luck.
Remember it could be you.
What they need to do though, is put huge restrictions on things, or even downright refuse to help certain people such as those who have bad livers from alcoholism, morbidly obese people who are fat from greed/laziness and medical problems which are very much preventable but brought on by people themselves. I'm not sure if this would be right or not. But in my opinion people like that are taking the piss out of the system.
Anyway, if you are someone who pays for private health insurance then once they had this 'universal healthcare' it would be in it's place and you wouldn't be needing your insurance. So really, you won't be losing any money will you?? I can only see it as a good thing.

Under Hillary's health care plan, you will pay a penalty if you're unable to pay for your universal health care. Most of us who are uninsured aren't that way because we "opted" for that choice, it's because we can't afford it. The fact that I can't afford an insurance premium every month is bad enough…to have to pay a fee directly because I "opted" out of having health insurance, would be devastating to my already tight financial situation.
