ALICIA KEYS AND JORDIN SPARKS WERE ALSO LIP SYNCHING! WHY ISNT ANYONE ANALYZING THEIR "PERFORMANCES"?? WHY IS PAULA ABDUL (ALONG WITH BRITNEY SPEARS) ALWAYS GETTING SCRUTINIZED?? (well i know, because paula is on the nr 1 show so she is just supposed to not care)

this filled me with tears of joy…honestly.
I grew up watching her; she always amazed me me with her energy and talent.
My first concert ever was NKOTB, and i dressed up just like her with my ruffle socks and ponytail on the top of my head with bright scrunchies!!! lol
she is the the queen of pop to me.
Im so happy shes doing this; I still look up to her, and when I become her age, I hope I'll still be able to dance as amazing as she can!

I was looking forward to it, and it was enjoyable. I'm proud for her and she should be proud of herself.
wow that reminds me of old times. she did great and she looked so happy. thats the most ive liked her since anything shes ever done on american idol or her horrible reality show.
i dont care about the lip singing. the overall performance was great, and thats what matters.
I thought that she did a great job. Especially compared to Britney. Yes she did lipsync. But so what. She still have the moves and looked great for her age and being out of circulation for so long.

give her some more time, this performance will get even better once she has performed it a few more times! the debut is always the most nervous performance for the singer!

Well, what did you expect. You didn't really think you were going to hear some unbelievably great song or anything very unique, did you. That's the best she can do. She needs to lipsynch, have backup dancers doing cheerleader moves, and all the razzle dazzle you can put on the stage to take away from the fact that it was just a mediocre song.

Really I thought it was pretty good! I mean, the song made me want to dance and the choreography really was pretty good. Yes, it wasnt over the top, but she didnt make any mistakes really that I noticed. I think people need to give her a break, since she hasnt performed in how many years?
But, Tom Petty was the halftime performance.. I'm confused.

I was not disappointed, because she is 45. Paula is what made Janet what she
is today. She was the own who choregraphered Janet when she made it
big. That was the same time Madonna got big. She was one of the pioneers
for the dance video. She came after Michael Jackson. If there was no Paula,
Madonna, Michael, Janet, there would be no Britney, Christina,Justin, or Hilliary
or Miley Cyrus for that matter. I know because I am 38. Paula is a pioneer
for the dance song genere, she did great!!!!!

I love how they added the crowd noise - it was NOT that loud.
I can't believe anyone would think Britney was better than Paula. I think at Paula's age, if she can perform like this, it's an embarrassment to all these young pop acts. When older pop acts are doing better, the youngin's should quit and get out of the way. This is pop music remember? So I don't expect much from that genre. BUT, I do expect entertainment still not Britney baloney or other crap that is considered music. I think the young artists are blind to what is good and being fed by the industry, media and paps that they are IT. Even Madonna in her 50's can do better still without sweating. Learn something from the previous pop stars.
Paula wants the spotlight back and she can have it. I'm very happy that she is doing this and I hope that her older fans and new fans show appreciation by buying her new album this summer. Taking the spotlight away from crazy Britney, Beyonce (another joke, sellout to DirectTV) and JLo. These artists need to recognize.

I think Paula did a good job. The song itself is catchy and at the Stupid Bowl you expect music artists to lip synch. The lip synching doesn't bother me one iota. I enjoyed watching her dancing. The choreography was right on.
What can you expect from a person who hasn't had success for God knows how long
i loved this performance from her! and it was just a pre-game performance, it wasnt exactly supposed to be the performance of a life time! she will get even better once she focuses even more on this! people need to keep in mind that she also is working very hard on her other projects such as American Idol. No this performance was not perfect, but it was a great comeback! give her time and she Will be perfect again.
Well, she is a hell of a lot better thab Shitney in all regards. She actually sings better, looks better, looks younger, dances 100 times better, is a lot slimmer by far !
And as far as lip synching, ALL singers on stage lip synch to their OWN songs, INCLUDING Shitney Spears !

I don't care if she lipsynched, she still sung the original version & that girl has got some MOVES for not performing in 10 years. I love that track. I can't wait for the remixes. It's so good to hear Paula back in the circuit. I loved her in the 90s!

I've noticed, over the years, that when really talented dancers perform after a certain age, they're naturally more protective and less likely to invest their whole body into the routine. Paula Abdul is an American Classic, much like Ann Margaret. Each has made a huge name for themselves by being incredibly talented. As the aging process advances, there are fewer dancing "stunts" that can safely be performed live (remember when Ann fell off the Las Vegas stage?) Well…my grandmother told me about it and it really must have hurt. Since then, dancers take fewer chances in live performances. So what if she lipsinked…I'm sure she was making some live noises too. The song is great to dance to, but very retro. Overall…I give Paula a 10 because I really enjoy seeing her do what she does best….dance. She's the perfict size for a female dancer.

It was a PERFORMANCE Perez, a great performance! from a super talent who just hadnt been on stage for like 10 years.
I love Paula Abdul! I remember when I was a lil girl my friends and I would be in the yard making up dances to her songs! I've missed her music. Looking forward to a great comeback!

You know although it wasnt live or sang live, I think she worked it out. I grew up on Paula and it was good to see her on stage again. I agree…the timing is right for her.

I think she should get an award for having the "balls" to "comeback." With all the bad media and press that surrounds her. Good for her not letting anything or anyone hold her back. I love the song, she can still dance…I think she did good. I think the performance is probably more than you SHOULD expect from someone her age. Not saying she is old…but ya know.

ugh, what to say about this performance besides the obviously bad lip synching and it was PRE-RECORDED! She couldn't even sing when she had numerous takes! Can she get some new dance moves? It looked like a Janet Jackson impersonation from 1990 …and yes, I know she was her choreographer at times. But bring something new, woman!!! she's too old to move like that anymore…NEW MOVES!
She's still beautiful and looked hot. She just needs better choreography. She hardly danced! And I too was disappointed that the stage was so dark and there weren't any close-ups. I love her and I'm glad she's back on the music scene! You can buy her single on ITUNES now.

Umm it was a music video, not a live performance at the Superbowl. Most videos are lip synched in favor or choreography.
Nevertheless, the song was nothing special, sounds like every other one of her songs, blah.
