Hillary Remains The Frontrunner

Filed under: Politik > Barack Obama > Hillary Clinton > John McCain

wennbarackhill.jpg

While it was an easy win for John McCain in the Republican presidential primaries, the Democratic race was neck and neck.

However, Hillary Clinton took home more delegates on Super Tuesday and she goes in to the upcoming primaries with the advantage.

Should be an interesting and heated race to the finish!

Actually, she didn't. It is projected that Obama will have 841 after tonight to Hillary's 837.

This was a huge loss for Hillary and a huge win for Obama.

you fucking moron. she hasn't won more delegates yet and obama is STILL ahead even if she did. seriously how much is her campaign paying you to support her? quite honestly if you are a supporter of hers that definately makes me not want to support her. if she is the candidate for the democrats this life long democrat is supporting mccain in 08.

It was not an "easy win" for McCain either. Get your damn facts straight before you post it for thousands to see, moron.

You're fucking stupid Perez…1. What the hell are you talking about when you say "win", the primaries aren't over dumbass 2. How the hell do you figure any "win" was "easy" for McCain? It's neck and neck in both parties. Go back to fucking high school perez and retake a damn government class.

    209

Actually Barack comes out on top. He picks up way more states and more delegates. Even though Hillary won in some states his margin was close and therefore a more even split of the delegates. He however smashed her in most of the states and picks up more delegates. Despite her win in California.

So think again. It's a dead even split but she is not the front runner.

What are you talking about? Barack won more states and more delegates today. And Hillary is slowly losing her race here in California the more the results come in. Sure Hillary will remain te front runner but Barack is pulling ahead. MSNBC even stated that at Barack's worst he will end up with 841 delegates and Clinton will end up with 837. And Clinton right now has a lot of Super Delegates who can change their vote at a moments notice.

If you've been watching MSNBC, they show how tonight puts Obama in a GREAT position, even with superdelegates lined up putting Hillary in front. He'll likely win the caucus states on Saturday, then the next round on Tuesday (a week away folks) and then be ahead of the supposedly-inevitable Hillary. Let us not forget she thought this was sewn up from the start. Anyway, the numbers are very good for Obama and that is why he is so upbeat about the Presidency. He can see the shift happening in the US is more than global, it is truly a cosmic shift where voters are going to change this country. I just donated and hopefully every bit helps. go obama - we need someone to change things and hillary is too bought-by-corporate money to be that person. The numbers don't lie.

I love blog on celebrities, but I think you need to stick with what you're best at–celebrity gossip. Politics and policy is much more complex than LA and Hollywood. I'm actually a Hillary fan, but when you mention delegates, make sure you know what you're talking about next time. The state delegates are only a very small part of the overall delegat process.

A vote for Change….should be a vote for hillary clinton….don't get swept away by what Obama says…..he gives you nothing but false statements and inacuracies. He states that he didn't vote for the war….well that is because he wasn't in a position to vote!! He wasn't part of the senate at that time….so how can we say he wouldn't have??
You can't base this vote on hypatheticals….it has to be about what is acutal and real!! And what is real….is that Hillary Clinton is a strong independent woman, who is ready to lead your counrty through this economic crisis, has a REAL and VIABLE plan for health care, and will get your troops out of Iraq in the most timely and safe manner….
I don't see how any of you can have actually read the facts…and not just listened to Obama speak….can actually vote for him….save yourselves from 4 years of Obama buckling under pressure….and Vote hillary….the PERSON who knows how to get the job done….

    260

Sorry, Perez, but none of the reliable news sources I look at are describing Hillary as the "frontrunner." In fact, they're ALL saying it will be a close, hard fought race right up to the convention.
Obama did very well on Tuesday, winning 13 states to Hillary's 8 or 9 (NM is still undecided as I type). The delegate count was also very close. Hillary has in NO WAY been anointed as the Democratic party frontrunner. Obama's success has been truly astonishing, perhaps most of all, to Hillary Clinton herself.
McCain, on the other hand, will clearly be the nominee for Republicans, handily beating Romney, Huckabee, and Ron Paul.
Everyone knows you've endorsed Hillary, Perez. Please try and keep your own personal bias from distorting the facts. You may not like it, but Obama is still very much a contender for his party's nomination.

    it's great.
i even read someone quoting ann coulter…
the race, i'm sure won't be determined until august at the national convention.
we still have 1800 odd delegates to "win" on either side…
and even the delegates won't exactly determine who will be in it.
and someone said something about huckabee winning states and kicking romney out of the race…
clearly mccain "won" but huckabee, the only thing he did was not drop out, he was pulling votes from romney and that allowed mccain to "win"
if huckabee wasn't in it, i'm sure romney would have "won" or it would be neck and neck like the dems.
    either way…
i pray to God Clinton isn't president…she will screw us just as bad at Bush.

Don't count your delegates before they've hatched, Perez. Hillary just *barely* beat Obama, which means that the primaries/caucuses will continue in the to-be-decided states. That, and I am sure the DNC won't look too favorably on Hillary for defying them by not pulling out of the primary races in MI and FL due to state official violations. At least Obama was willing to listen, as opposed to Hillary who chose to ignore the importance of "standing firm" against state officials that violate primary rules by unreasonably bumping up voting dates.
At least Obama wants to unite this country… Hillary just wants to make it like it was 8+ years ago like the last Clinton. What ever happened to looking to the future and not the past?!?!

You have got your facts wrong you big fat idiot. It's not over yet. Obvioously you don't know how the voting system works.
I am not American, but I follow the US presidential campaign. I must say I find Hillary a bit obnoxious and suspect since she is running for president. For one thing, I don't trust Bill and his irrational attacks in the media. Hasn't he done certain things in the past? I certainly don't want any scandals and affairs associated with the Clinton family. Hillary may not make the world a better place . Only Obama can understand us truly.

Obama is from my state, but I am a woman and one day I want the opportunity to be president. Putting Obama in there is not going to help me. Thanks to all the mother's who voted for Hillary, women need a chance to get past the men.

This is a perfect example of what is wrong with our voting system. Yes, Billary walked away with more delegates. But Obama actually won more states overall. It ought to be "winner take all" in each state.

It's funny to see how Hillary spins it, she was expected to have those states in her pocket, but he won a lot of states, and put up good numbers in the states he lost. I go back to her interviews with Katie Couric where she knew she was the inevitable one. The Obama supporters are fired up, and extremely happy at the outcome. We look forward to future primaries and caucus. It's also funny how she wants to debate daily, because she knows as time goes by people get to see him…and as the media has been saying, when Obama is given time he has the upper hand. It's going to be a very interesting race to the convention.

This is really how I feel, especially after the last seven years. If she doesn't win and I know she will..I want to lay down and die. I cannot stand to go through another 4 years with a cock in the White House.

Perez, do you know what you are talking about? Hillary Clinton is losing momentum, as demonstrated by her marginal victories in fewer states than Obama, and is running our of campaign funds. Barack Obama is gaining momentum, has more money, and may have the advantage. I appreciate your enthusiasm, but stick to what you do best: pop culture.
