Hillary Remains The Frontrunner

Filed under: Politik > Barack Obama > Hillary Clinton > John McCain

wennbarackhill.jpg

While it was an easy win for John McCain in the Republican presidential primaries, the Democratic race was neck and neck.

However, Hillary Clinton took home more delegates on Super Tuesday and she goes in to the upcoming primaries with the advantage.

Should be an interesting and heated race to the finish!

  4. Perez don't know politics says – reply to this

    304

    Hey FOOL.

Hillary has more delegates because she has more superdelegates. BARACK won more pledged delegates yesterday, which means that the PEOPLE voted for BARACK.

STOP TALKING ABOUT POLITICS. YOU DON'T DO YOUR RESEARCH. YOU ARE MISINFORMING PEOPLE.

  5. Marie says – reply to this

    305

Perez, why don't you SLOW down and wait until all the results are in. All of the delegates are far from being counted….. It will be a virtual tie - not NEARLY what I would call a WIN for Hillary.

    OBAMA 08!!!

  6. nina says – reply to this

    306

NOT THE FRONT RUNNER… ESSENTIALLY, NEARLY TIED. OBAMA HAD THE MOST VOTES IN MORE COUNTRIES… CLINTON GOT LUCKY, GETTING THE LARGER STATES WITH MORE DELEGATES… BIG DIFFERENCE, MORE REAL PEOPLE VOTES VERSUS DELEGATE VOTES!!
OBAMA IS THE REAL PEOPLES CHOICE!!

you know, I have been a faithful (if logging on ten times a day could be called "faithful" and not obsessive) reader of perezhilton.com for a long time but I come here for entertainment news NOT political news.

but even that would be fine if he would give ALL the correct facts. which he doesn't. I understand wanting to express your opinion and backing a candidate. we all do it. but when you have a large readership who comes here for one sort of information and finds themselves bombarded by other shit that we didn't ask for or agree with, you should know that you're going to alienate and, in the end, lose alot of readers.

including me. if the onesided information and propaganda giving doesn't stop soon, I'll be turning off of perezhilton for good.

  8. loan says – reply to this

  9. jackie says – reply to this

    309

marie - perez won't "slow down until all the information is in" because then he wouldn't be able to give misinformation and beat the drum for his candidate nearly so effectively.

we all should know that this is not a place for unbiased information and take whatever perez says with a grain of salt. especially with regards to politics.

  13. Neely O'Hara says – reply to this

    313

Perez, you're great with celebrity smut, but your grip on political facts is weak. Hillary is not the front-runner; there IS no front-runner. Obama took nearly twice as many states as she did, and with respect to delegates, they're neck-and-neck. Plus, I literally laughed out loud when I saw your post about "endorsing" Clinton. I don't necessarily argue with your personal choice, but can you really be laboring under the delusion that you're the internet Oprah?

Kennedys are yesterday.. they have no more say so anymore…. Go hillary… Go Hillary.. Go Hillary… obama is just a dirty politician that has his hands dirty with rezko…. go to hillaryclinton.com and support her… and come on women.. lets show the men who are boss… vote hillary…

  17. jackie says – reply to this

    317

Re: jessica – wow. so much for positive campaigning. I'm guessing by the grammar and the childish putdowns in your post that you won't be eligible to vote for about ten years. so don't be upset if we don't pay your "vote" much attention.

  19. hanna says – reply to this

    319

perez, if you watched the news you would know hillary is NOT the front runenr because the delegates are so close that they are virtually even, even though she got california, obama came home with more states, so all is up for grabs.
    obama for change.

  25. Here we go again with Perez "Anderson Cooper" Hilton says – reply to this

    325

Perez, when will you learn you are nothing more than a gossip blogger and not a political analyst? I don't see you on the Today show with Tim Russert, or CNN with Anderson Cooper. Your constant push for Billary is shameless. Voting is a personal choice for everyone and you are far from a superdelegate or someone who can swing the vote. You are one voter who is entitled to make a choice but your constant voicing of your desires are not of interest to many of your readers. Allow other voters to educate themselves on the issues and make their own unbiased choice. If you continue to go down this road which I suppose you will as you haven't stopped yet, state the facts for ALL remaining candidates in both parties and provide links to back up your statements to reputable news sources if you can find unbiased ones.

I am PRAYING to God that Hilary pulls this out. Obama would be TRAGIC for this country. I am a die-hard Democrat and if Obama wins the primary, I will actually vote for McCain. Hang tough Hilary. Interesting how 85% of Black voters voted for Obama - that goes to show that they would vote for ANY Black person running - I would say half of that 85% of Black voters who voted for Obama voted on race ALONE - how uneducated and ignorant is that?!

The truth is never wrong. The American system hasn't changed and everyone knows the rules. Whether it is Barack or Hilary…the good part is that they were elected. Either one or the other is not a bad thing.
I would like it to be Hilary because I think once she is in there and has the power to make change she will kick ass. She will elevate the presidency to new levels and will leave a legacy that will be respected in history as the first woman president. TOTALLY CONFIDENT OF THAT. She deserves this.

Well, Hill is currently in the lead with delegates, because of superdelegates! Superdelegates are politicians. They don't have to compete for the chance to go to the convention, it's guaranteed. AND they may change their vote at any time for any reason.

The truly telling thing about this past Tuesday, is that the PEOPLE (regular delegates) are voting for Obama, and politicians (superdelegates) are voting for Hillary. Hmmmmmmmmm….. Tell you anything?

Also, Hillary didn't do as well as her camp had predicted just a few short months/weeks earlier. Obama is gaining momentum FAST. And hasn't spent all his money to get to Super Tuesday like Hillary did.

Dig up the dirt–remind the American people of why they are sick of the Clintons and why they don't want another possibly 8 years of their phony garbage. Refuse the offers of weekly debates. One a month would be sufficient. Tell them no thank you and continue your campaign. That's what is helping you win–getting your message out. Debates will be free air time for a campaign that is surely going broke. You have the momentum–don't let them side track you with debates. If you do debate, hit her hard! Her campaign is just a front for Bill to weasel out an illegal third term. If she wins, no doubt he will be calling the shots. Please don't let them make a mockery of the Constitution!

What is wrong with you? Are these numbers even valid? 75-80% of white women voted for Hillary (I was not one of them), does that mean these women voted strictly on race and gender? No, everyone votes for who THEY think is best. Respect that, instead of assuming it's race based. How dare you insult and dismiss the black vote. No one puts the white female vote down like that! Either candidate is fine, but I prefer Barack. I'm glad this election happened, because it shows the true colors of many Americans. Why would Barack be "tragic?" 99% of his plans are exactly the same as Hillary's. You are tragic, and I pray you don't vote, because you are ignorant.

yeap, hispanics WILL NOT vote for obama….there you go, digest that one…that means, they'd rather vote for mccain than the black boy…and hispanics are not married to the democratic party like blacks…they will flock to the other side if their candidate loses….specially ’cause mccain is pretty liberal when it comes to immigration….

delegates are still being calculated….why don't we wait and see….ultimately, obama will do well in "black states" and hillary will do well in the others….black states have a smaller number of delegates…..in the end she has the edge

plus, the more time passes the more people realize that obama is a nice speaker w/no tangible plan….in addition, the democratic party's superdelegates that are not decided are looking at the % and figuring out who can win this….whoever has the latino vote will win…that is clinton….

she will owe hispanics BIG TIME and they know it….they are not as dumb as people would have you believe….;-)

    ps
isn't it interesting how asians also voted against obama? it seems other minority groups don't want anything to do w/the blacks….it's like they are saying: "no, we are not like them"…."we do not consider ourselves a minority and consequently we will not vote for the minority candidate"

A statement of fact does not constitute "racsim." Blacks have been shown in scientific research to do things in "groups." They largely ignore indivual opinion and band together as a group; this thinking goes way back in African-American culture. It was once a survival mechanism, now it is robotic thinking. You are not dealing with a "racist," but an educated person with an opinion — an American.

A statement of fact does not constitute "racism." Blacks have been shown in scientific research to do things in "groups." They largely ignore individual opinion and band together as a group; this thinking goes way back in African-American culture. It was once a survival mechanism, now it is robotic thinking. You are not dealing with a "racist," but an educated person with an opinion — an American. THIS is a racist statement: "Blacks are less intelligent than Whites" (which I do NOT believe).

actually, there are still hundreds of delegates that have not been allocated. and currently barack has 539 delegates and hillary has 540. so maybe you should wait until all the results are in before you declare a winner. sorry if it doesn't fit into your pro-hillary agenda and bias, but you are over-simplifying the race based on incomplete facts.

So far, Obama won more delegates yesterday than Hillary and is ahead by just a few. Clinton only is leading when you factor in the superdelegates that have said they would vote for her. As of now, Obama 603, Clinton 590 but it goes up to Obama 709, Clinton 783 with the superdelegates (there are still several hundred uncommitted ones so it does not really mean too much).
And if Clinton wins just because of the superdelegates that would make her victory not unlike Bush in 2000, when Gore won the popular vote…

Perez, shut the fuck up. You're a biased asshole who knows nothing about politics - if you did, you would realize that Hillary Clinton is exactly what we don't need, idiot.

i love hillary,i am glad she is winning, but please people, when you vote, don't vote for someone just because they are a woman,or just because they are africian americian, look at what they stand for,do research, see what they stand for,not just what they are,you could be voting for someone who has total opposite views and values than you.

This is a special thanks to all the women in America that voted for Hilary. It's clear that women will rule the Millenium years. This is history in the making. Mrs. President Clinton, how wonderful.
