Hillary Remains The Frontrunner

Filed under: Politik > Barack Obama > Hillary Clinton > John McCain

wennbarackhill.jpg

While it was an easy win for John McCain in the Republican presidential primaries, the Democratic race was neck and neck.

However, Hillary Clinton took home more delegates on Super Tuesday and she goes in to the upcoming primaries with the advantage.

Should be an interesting and heated race to the finish!

    Perez,
Stick to gossip! Hilllary is old news. Barack supports LGBT rights as much as her. We need new direction, not the same old same old. Go Barack. He will rock the next ten primaries and come out ahead.

  2. Frontrunner Indeed! says – reply to this

    402

Yes, and Obama took more states! Stilted reporting. She's a frontrunner alright. She is always running from the truth!
Does anyone care that she has taken more money from Big business than BOTH leading Republican candidates put together?
    BTW, Obama's taken ZERO cash.
    Time for a change.
    Wake up America.

  3. YAHOO IS REPORTING THAT: says – reply to this

Clinton is leading the delegate race. Hillary is going to win. She is our next president. Boyz get ready, YOU'RE COMING HOME.

Bush won based on his personality and charisma but had very little experience in foreign policy or anything else for that matter. Look at what his inexperience did to our country.

Then why did Hillary win California. The live news is reporting Hillary is leading in the delegates.

  7. what??? says – reply to this

    407

This information isn't even right. According to CNN (which is clearly a more reliable source)

"Obama won more states, 13, and leads Clinton in pledged delegates, according to CNN calculations. Obama also counted Missouri, a national bellwether state, among his victories, and the Illinois Democrat has been on a fundraising tear. In January, he raised $32 million, his campaign reported."

Get your facts straight Perez, Clinton isn't ahead in delegates, Obama is.

  8. Barack Obama says – reply to this

    408

I want to win, but I'm still NOT GOING TO PLEDGE THAT STUPID FLAG. YOU CAN'T MAKE ME , EITHER.

    Why are people
    voting for Obama
    when he belongs
to bush's ' skull and bones club'?
Never in my life have I seen such STUPID AMERICAN'S.
    vote for hillary

  10. Marly says – reply to this

    410

Obama has no real plan…listen to his speeches, sure they are inspiring but you cannot run a country on hope….The man needs some more experience…we cannot afford a learn as you go President, not in the state we are in. We need a solid plan…Talk can only get you so far.

  11. You are a fucking idiot says – reply to this

    411

    Re: what???
Clinton has more delegates and it ain't over until the cock crows tomorrow, what planet are you on? You want to have Obama's babies so bad, it's plain. Stop asslicking.

  12. Whatever, Perez. Barack whooped Hillary's ass last night says – reply to this

    412

Whatever, Perez. Hillary got her ass beat last nite in terms of the popular vote, AND Barack is only 74 delegates behind her–even though she won CA. Barack will easily take VA, DC, MD, LA, and the other states that still have to vote. In addition Barack's underdog victory against the Clinton machine increases his already spiked momentum. There is no frontrunner, so fall back.

    OBAMA 08'!

  13. WHAT says – reply to this

    413

What the hell!!! it was a fucking TIE TIE TIE he won 13 stater to her 8 or 9 yeah she wan delegate rich states but not by much so they split the delegates so what did billary win?????

    416

OBAMA WON MORE STATES (Especially the lilly-white ones like North Dakota, Utah and Colorado) AND MORE DELEGATES!!!

Also bear in mind that the bellwether state of Missouri, which has ACCURATELY PREDICTED who the candidate will be, chose OBAMA!
    HA!

  17. squintz says – reply to this

    417

"took home more delegate," eh, you moron? actually, he won the delegate count. learn to read. he also won more states. superdelegates are merely "pledged," can switch at any time prior to the convention, and by the way, one of the superdelegates is HER HUSBAND. nice democracy for you.
nepotism will lose. you've become one of them, perez, you've become one of them. shame shame shame shame shame shame.

  18. Marcie says – reply to this

    418

No she didn't!!!! Look at ANY news source. Barack Obama won the most states AND the most delegates. He won Super Tuesday! She has more delegates overall because she has more superdelgates who have pledged to support her already. Superdelegates are members of congress, the senate, and other various elected officials who get to choose a candidate to endorse…and even with that said, their TOTAL delegates are still very close. Please correct this on your website!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We want to be able to trust what we read on this site!!!!

Hillary has not "won" anything yet. Obama won more states than she did and the difference in the # of delegates does not make a difference.

Interestingly, I read that a survey of voters revealled that the LOWER LESS EDUCATED CLASSES voted for Hillary.

(Nobody ever accused Perez of having 'class' or education, now did they?)

Stick to Hollywood, Perez. Its frightening that someone of ur lack of education can actually influence the Presidential election. Almost as dangerous as having GWB with an itchy trigger finger :(

Please, America, the world begs you… NOT HILLARY or another Republican. Get back ur national pride.

Perez, please do more research before posting on politics. You're post is extremely misleading. Last night was not a big win for Hilary. She won California, but look at the states Obama won! He even took Missouri, which has decided the nominee during the last 4 democratic primaries..

  35. Go Clinton says – reply to this

    435

Even with the Kennedy and Kerry endorsement of Obama, Hillary won Mass. and Cal. Oprah should just keep her opinions to herself. I have lost all respect for Oprah. Obama is just like Kerry. He is too liberal to win the national election. Clinton is by far, the best choice. Go Hillary!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    GOBAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  38. Camille says – reply to this

    438

Obama edged out Hillary on pledged delegates.
Obama whomped Hillary on the state-win count: 14 to 8.
Obama crushed Hillary in the red states: 8 to 4.
Obama tied Hillary with states that always go democrat anyway: 4 to 4.

It's pretty clear the democrats need Obama to put the red-leaning states into play for November. He consistently beats McCain in national general election surveys, and Hillary consistently loses. In the last 17 polls on this topic: Hillary loses to McCain -14- times. McCain only beats Obama -5- times. That's out of -17-.

Make the RIGHT choice America, chose the candidate ready to WIN on Day ONE!
    GObama '08!

PS. YOU ARE RIGHT, HILLARY IS THE FRONT RUNNER!

  40. Clarence says – reply to this

    440

People voting for Hillary, as the polls indicate, are generally poor, and less educated individuals. These individuals are probably very hard workers who don't have time to sit down and listen to debates, watch speeches, or go to the candidates website and see their stances on issues. I think anyone who actually pays attention to the candidates, their stands, and their positions generally vote Obama. His positions makes the most sense and more importantly Obama strength grows everyday, while Hillary loses votes everday. The long this goes on the better it is for Obama. This is far from over.

  41. stayoutofit says – reply to this

    441

You need to stop feeding wrong information on your site about how the primary process works. All of the delegates have not yet been counted so it is impossible for you to say one or the other has come out on top after yesterday. Do everyone a favor and stick to what you know. You are embarrassing yourself.

  42. Jessica says – reply to this

    442

the delegate count isn't in yet, and it's estimated Obama will have more pledged delegates from the night, he won more states, and his margin of victory in his states was larger. How do you get that Hillary is the front runner when it's neck-and-neck? I hate when people discuss politics and have no idea what they're talking about

  43. dc says – reply to this

    443

  44. Obama's Mama says – reply to this

    444

Stick to the celebrity news, Perez. You couldn't be more wrong about the number of delegates won and the mo'. Obama won more delegates. Obama won states where Hillary had double digit leads in the polls less than 10 days ago. Hillary is strapped for cash and Obama is rolling at the moment.

    Hey, is Castro dead yet?

    Again, stick to the celebs.

  45. DC Loves Obama! says – reply to this

    445

She is not ahead in "real time"! Obama won and is ahead in "pledged" delegates. Those are the delegates won in the election. When you add in the Superdelegates (which can and will mostly likely shift to Obama as we near the election) she is only ahead by 97 with hundreds of the super delegates not affiliating with any candidate yet. Obama is the true winner from last night and he will make an excellent president! Si Se Puede! Yes We Can!

  46. Tbone says – reply to this

    446

At least have the decency to report accurate information when it comes to important politics! Only Hillary supporters like you would call her the "frontrunner". This is a neck and neck race and the final results are not in yet, you idiot!

  47. activate says – reply to this

    447

ACTUALLY, OBAMA WON MORE DELEGATES YOU FAT PIG….

OBAMA ACTUALLY HAS MORE "PLEDGED" DELEGATES THAN SHE DOES….

    HRC IS RUNNING SCARED!

  48. Shay says – reply to this

    448

If Hillary goes on to the main contest, she'll win the blue states, I'm sure…just like John Kerry and Al Gore did. However, Obama has the ability to attract more independents to vote for him. I even know some republicans that like him but still hate Hillary. Hillary will only motivate the republicans to vote against her whereas Obama will motivate democratic voters into the poll booths in states where he has had landslide victories in the primaries, red states.

Think about the possibility of winning states in the deep south and in the mid-west/rocky mt areas. It will really only take just one state to tip it over to our side if compared with the last couple elections…but I bet we wins more than one.

Think about it. Do you want 4 more years of republican rule or do you want 4-8 years of REAL change in Washington??

I like Hillary…but I like Obama a lot better and I know he has a much better chance of beating McCain than Clinton does. Obama has me motivated and excited. The difference between Hillary and Obama is the difference between being good and great.

    OBAMA fans:

Not to take anything from OBAMA camp, but:

Some of the states he won don't really mean much because the are " republican states".
Another way to put it is, these states have always voted for republican in the general elections.
In addition, several states also have very small amount of delegates
And delegates are divided between candidates, they are not winner take all like some of republican primaries.

  63. Bill says – reply to this

    463

    Perez,
I don't think there is a single political commentator in this country who would actually say at this point that Clinton is the frontrunner. The difference in delegate counts between Clinton and Obama is now so narrow that it has come down to a state-by-state contest that will continue to be hashed out over the upcoming primaries. I respect your right to support any political candidate you wish and post political information on your website, but I would ask that you are careful to insure that you are not posting misinformation. While the world won't be affected on a day to day basis if you post something that is untrue about Britney Spears, you must recognize that you do have the power to influence people politically and if you do so with faulty facts you are just as corrupt and misleading as Fox News. The future of this country is at stake here.

Stock up now on supplies and protection for you family, because there are going to be millions of people mobilizing to get some "payback" for years of "suppression" that they never actually experienced firsthand anyways. AND, the next round of primaries is in a very pro-Obama region–DC, Virgina, etc. It could go either way, and to say Hillary has the advantage isn't really accurate. I say he does.

But I gotta ask. I'm gay, in California. What is UP with us going for Hillary 2 to 1?? I just don't get that. Neither do I get the whole Latino thing. Care to comment??

First she voted for the war in Iraq. She said if she knew now what she knows back then, she wouldn't have voted for it. It's a war Hillary!! What did you Expect??

Now she does not vote to fund the war !! I don't get it !

She does not want our troops to have better weapons.
She does not want our troops to have better armor.
She does not want our troops to have better equipment.

She instead wants them to be killed and faster??

How can She sleep at night?

How can you people who voted for her sleept at night?

See how Perez Hilton got spun by Hillary Clinton?

The TRUTH is that OBAMA WON Super Tuesday.

Who wants a president who routinely employs such deception to win more political power?

Hillary Clinton is not good for this country.

    Shame on Perez Hilton!!!

    491

Why do you LIE? She did NOT win more delegates on Super Tuesday! She has not won more delegates than Obama in ANY state as of yet. Look at the PLEDGED delegate count…Barack is ahead…DO NOT look at the delegate count that includes the Super Delegates because 1. Those are not locked in to either candidate as of yet and 2. They are an archaic rule in the process that keeps the people of the united states from choosing their candidate and allows a select few to over turn the publics vote if they so desire.

STOP TELLING LIES REGARDING THIS RACE!
Feel free to continue to lie about celebs if you want though.

  94. Perez, DON'T BURY THIS TOPIC!!! says – reply to this

    494

Perez, you let your enthusiasm for Hillary influence your reporting. Please don't bury this topic because of your misjudgment. Start a new topic clarifying your earlier statement. It's CLEAR that your readers want to discuss the elections. Every time you blog about the candidates, you get a huge number of reader comments.
Everyone makes mistakes, but not everyone has the balls to admit it! Come clean about the election results and keep the discussion going!

You're a fucking retard Perez, she didn't win more delegates - Obama did. It was basically a tie. Obama won 13 states and she won 9. She won 49% of the overall popular vote, Obama won 48%. Obama won aprox. 845 delegates and she won aprox. 840. Obama had won 63 delegates to 48 for her coming in, but she had the advantage in super delegates. Of 2230 total delegates already allocated, she has an advantage of 70. That's less than 3% of the total. And Obama has more money, a better organization and favorable states coming up. This thing is as deadlocked as they come, with Hillary having only the slightest of advantages. Yesterday determined nothing.

You people really amaze me! Mr. Personality and charisma is all talk; he doesn't have any substance and will not be able to handle the tough job of the Presidency. He has heavy connections that will tell him what to do; all the money that is coming in for him are from RICH people in the secret/exclusive skull and bones society, oprah, kennedy's, etc. He is fooling all of the naive young people, it's really scary.
