This season is always scary for people in the Mid South. Remember last year when that massive tornado hit Gallatin? It actually got international attention. I'm about 10 mins from there, and you can still to this day see evidence of the storm's horrific path of destruction. Some friends of mine lost everything they had worked their whole lives for. That's a horrible feeling. You cannot even imagine.

sucks for them, you should move to california, stop fucking your cousins, and avoid tornados like the rest of us who arent inbred hicks

My thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by this tragedy. I know that I am truely blessed to have woken this morning. Keep God first, always, in the bad times and the good. He will guide you on the journey to recovery.
Thank you, Perez, for posting this. Other than Fox News, no other media outlets have even given it a second thought.

It was definitely crazy here yesterday… RIP ^^^ to the ones that didn't make it. Hey #86 AMBER - MOST of the major damage occured at large corporations ( International Paper, Conway, etc.) a college, and a Memphis mall. So, pleeaaseee keep the dam* trailer comments to yourself. Tornados can sweep through and destroy anything in it's path.

  6. RaYcheL says – reply to this

    106

I also want to make clear that this is NOT a sign of global warming, as someone posted earlier. As a matter of fact, it's been one of the coldest winters around here in recent memory. Then all of a sudden it was unseasonably warm yesterday. When warm and cool air collide, it makes for catostrophic results. Being in the middle makes TN a perfect breeding ground for this phenomenon. The fact is, tornadic activity as been affecting the Mid South since the beginning of time, just like hurricanes in FL, mudslides in CA, heavy rain in WA, etc. It's just something you have to deal with in this area. It's sad, but it's how we know Spring is coming!

hey scary, you quit being a dumb bitch! You are the ignorant one, and you get so pissed off becaues i said the south is full of trailer parks? YES, I am fuckin correct when I said that!!!!!!! Everyone knows that the south is full of rednecks, hill billies, single women on foodstamps, trailer parks, confederate honkeys and most are democrat idiots who DRAIN the taxes from the upper class and wealthy! The majority of the south are a bunch of idiots!!!!!

54 deaths confirmed at this point in Tennessee, Mississippi, Kentucky, Alabama, and Arkansas. The first round came through in the early evening, the second in the middle of the night when many people were asleep. Not very fun.

All these people who have posted negative comments, should really be ashamed of themselves … I live in Louisville, Kentucky and was stuck in the middle of this storm, and whats worse was I live in an apartment building so it was even harder for us to seek shelter… Sure because the storm didn't affect you, you think it's "CooL" to see all the damage, but that all changes when your huddled up with your neighbors under a staircase with 80mph winds over your head and trying to keep glass from shattering in your face.

To those of you who have sent prayers, Thank you…. Our prayers are with those other states that were hit much harder than us.

    120

okay, first off, this area is not in tornado alley….dumbass…….i was in that shit last night…..friends are dead…..families are now homeless…..three towns have been wiped off the map…..if you dont care, thats fine…..but think how you would feel if it was you, and people cared more about heath fucking ledger than this even more tragic loss……these are real fucking people who lost not only all of their material possessions, but their most precious friends and families too……my car got blown away….we have irreperable damage to our home…..were broke and homeless, and sad……people should be more sensitive.

Re: amber – Hey, Amber! Have you ever even been to the South? For you to call someone ignorant, and then make the comments you just made, is unfathomable. Judging from your grammar and poor choice of words, you're probably not very well educated, so I'll try to keep it simple. You cannot label someone just because they are from a specific area of the country. To do so is in itself ignorant, as you put it. The South is rich with culture, art, music, and (believe it or not) education, as are many other parts of our great nation. Wake up, Amber! This is the 21st century! One would think that prejudice stereotypes are a thing of the past. I'm sorry that you're jealous of your husband's ex, and I will pray for you. In the meantime, try doing a little research and maybe learning about a topic before you make a comment. You're only making yourself look like the idiot here.

DENYING THAT THESE NEW DRASTIC CHANGES IN WEATHER (GLOBALY, HEY PEREZ, MENTION CHINA PLEASE) HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH GLOBAL WARMING IS LIKE SAYING THAT THE SKY IS FLANNEL-COLORED WITH GREEN POLKA DOTS.

    131

#39…. Where are people suppose to live, we have earthquakes out west, hurricanes on east coast, tornados in midwest… is there an area not effected? Some people need to be less clueless.
PRES Canidates…. you think they would want a photo op, and to show they care about people, then why not show up at a damaged area.. oh wait.. that stated didnt have enough votes for them to waste their time….
    Truly sad
I am in Indiana, I was born and raised in Los Angeles. It doesnt matter where you live, I have found that natural disasters occur everywhere, its just a matter of time.

    134

WOW! I can't believe i just sat here and read most of these ignorant comments for the last 30 minutes. Why are people from the south rednecks, hicks, idiots? That really is what's wrong with the world today. There are still sooooo many uneducated people it's scary! I live in Portland Tn and the weather missed us thankfully. My thoughts go out to the people who were affected!

  35. Kimberli Anne says – reply to this

    135

It's quite funny that most people stereotype Kentucky and other southern states as hickstates, where most of us live in trailor parks with no teeth, 5 kids and no baby daddy….It's so not the case.
Karma is a fateful word, and to those of you have put your negativity out there about this, will get a taste of your own medicine soon enough whether it be something tragically with the weather, or something tragic within your own town…or family.
I think it was a good thing for Perez to Post something about what happend last night, because although his celebrity gossip is always juicy to read, It's also good to educate those on what's going on in their country, and how others are effected by it.
Most of you need to grow up. Because one day, it will be you stuck in our situation, it will be YOU needing the help, and those of us that you have turned your back on will turn our backs on you.

  36. scary says – reply to this

    136

Wow…. is all I have to say. I've never seen so many idiotic comments in my life. I guess living in Indiana "the NEW south" is a horrible place to be. I'd rather live in and around this area than anywhere else. But, my heart truely goes out to all those who were involved in the storms last night. =( I just looked at some of the pictures and they are horrific. Mother Nature is not very forgiving.

Amber, you can't even spell correctly……why even open up your tragic mouth? Are you kidding….this horrible situation has called for you to bring up some of your moronic ideas of what your opinion of the south is to you? You really should spend your energy talking about something that you are educated on. That's okay if you are so small minded to think that we all are like the ideals that you think southern women personify. Besides, I was born and raised in the South, and proudly……there is no other place I would want to live. Why even bring up politics with all the rest of your ignorant blabber? You must be a very classy Republican person, huh? You seem pretty trashy and redneck yourself. Let me guess, you live in the North too! You sound like what we call in the South…."trash with cash". How's that for me judging you like you do everyone else?!!!!!! Your words sound so intelligent.

But I can't go home to Memphis because I have to go on the 45 bypass, right past Union Universtiy and where the tornado hit. Everyone in that area and others are in my thoughts!

They are in our thoughts and in our prayers, and we hope that our federal government will respond quickly and rapidly to make sure that they get all the help that they need. " as did Clinton, " on just one really serious note, we want to keep the people of Arkansas and Tennessee in our prayers. They suffered horrible tornadoes tonight. We just talked to some of our folks there and people have died in both states, and our thoughts and prayers go out to them in this moment of their need."

    Re: lizzy t
Holy crap me too It was more like 15-10 minutes, there were tornadoes in Morrilton. This was really really bad, most of the highways were shut down with people just pareked on them so that people couldn't even get to their homes. This seems to happen about every 10 years or so, last time i believe it was in 96 there were 6+ tornadoes in Arkansas during JANURARY - I believe in global warming like the next person but I also believe that nature goes in cycles. The reason most of these things weren't reported 100-200 years ago is because 100-200 years ago much of this area was still farm land and we didn't realize the impact of the situation and also that the government and weather liked to pretend tornadoes/twisters didn't exist (don't believe me look it up)

NO WONDER THE WORLD IS IN THE SHAPE IT IS IN RIGHT NOW… LOOK AT THE WAY ALL YOU PEOPLE TALK TO EACH OTHER!! PEOPLE ARE DEAD! THEY HAVE LOST HOMES, CARS, EVERYTHING… DOESN'T MATTER WHERE THEY LIVE OR THE LIFESTYLE THEY LIVE- WE ARE ALL HUMANS AND THIS JUST AS EASILY COULD HAVE BEEN ANY OF US… I LIVE IN ARKANSAS BUT WE WEREN'T AFFECTED- STORM SIRENS WENT OFF BUT NOTHING LIKE ATKINS AND CLINTON AND THE SMALLER COMMUNITIES THAT WERE HIT. 13 PEOPLE, AS OF RIGHT NOW, ARE DEAD IN ARKANSAS ALONE FROM THIS STORM. THAT IS REAL AND IT IS SAD… WHY DOES EVERYONE HAVE TO BE SO UGLY TO EACH OTHER ABOUT IT?? JUST BECAUSE WE LIVE IN ARKANSAS OR THE SOUTH OR WHATEVER- DOESNT MEAN WE ARE INBRED OR HICKS OR WHATEVER YOU MAY SAY OR THINK! THE NEWS WERE REPORTING LAST NIGHT THAT ALMOST AS SOON AS THE STORMS WERE OUT OF A PARTICULAR AREA PEOPLE WERE COMING OUT IN FULL FORCE TO HELP IN ANY WAY THEY COULD… GUARANTEE THAT WOULDN'T BE HAPPENING IN THE NORTH OR OTHER PLACES LIKE THAT. I AM PROUD TO LIVE IN THE SOUTH AND THE FRIENDLINESS AND CARING PEOPLE THAT ARE HERE MAKE IT EVEN BETTER!

p.s. you should have won Celebrity Rap Superstar :)

One of my little cousins was killed last night in the tornadoes. May she rest in peace and I pray for all of the other families who lost someone or has someone hurt.

I live five miles away from an area where four people were killed.
It saddens me that some of these comments are so mean. People have lost their lives. Families have lost their homes. When Malibu was burning were comments as mean???

Please just respect the families that have been affected by this. My family was lucky enough to have our home untouched. Please remember these families and just imagine if your home were torn away by a tornado.

Prayers won't help you now. Where was your god before the tornadoes struck? You're all a bunch of retards. It sucks to be the object of hatred and god's wrath, doesn't it. Now all you red-state assholes are getting it back for all the hate you've spread against gays. Maybe now you'll think twice about who you vote for and the evil words of your religious leaders.

    Re: sara p
are you actually this ignorant sara? honestly you have no idea what you are talking about. mother nature can take lives anywhere at any given time, not only in the south. I can not stop laughing at your stupidity, and where do you live that makes you so "holy" that tragedies like this don't happen? dumb bitch
