Britney's parents are not happy about her release from the hospital on Wednesday.
They claim that the UCLA Medical Center let Spears go, even though the psychiatrist treating her wanted the fallen pop star to remain hospitalized.
Jamie & Lynne released the following statement late Wednesday evening.
"As parents of an adult child in the throws of a mental health crisis, we were extremely disappointed this morning to learn that over the recommendation of her treating psychiatrist, our daughter Britney was released from the hospital that could best care for her and keep her safe. We are deeply concerned about our daughter's safety and vulnerability and we believe her life is presently at risk. There are conservatorship orders in place created to protect our daughter that are being blatantly disregarded. We ask only that the court's orders be enforced so that a tragedy may be averted."

Hopefully Brit's parents can make sure she gets the help she needs.

THIS SITUATION IS SO FAR PAST FUNNY, CRAZY, OR ENTERTAINING. This is classic Borderline Personality behaviour - emotional extremes. That means when Brit's angry she's REALLY angry. When she's sad she's REALLY sad. And when she's happy she's REALLY happy. The emotions can switch back and forth quite easily. It explains why she can love her Dad one minute, and then hate him the next. And it probably makes it quite hard for the doctors to say "No" to her being released when she's in the mood for being all nice and sweet.

I'm glad to hear that Mr. Spears is considering moving in with Britster, and making sure Adnan is shown his place in society which is being a dirty low life pap. The parents are here to help her its not about the money. Even if it were about the money I think everyone would agree better the parents get it than Adnan or Osama. Adnan doesnt care about Britney but what she can do for him to better his life so he doesnt have to be a pap and struggle in life. She needs to be controlled and the sooner the better. I do not know how Mom and Pop Spears can control their daughters life now that she is out of the hospital. I do not condone Brit's behavior, but I see there is little her family can do at this point. Unfortunately something really bad is going to have to happen to Brit before her parents can intervene. This is such a tragedy unfolding in front of everyones eyes. How sad.
I think what many people are missing is that she's so GONE in the head that she doesn't realize what she's doing–she's a laughing stock and doesn't even know it. Mental illness is not something that can be fixed quick…take a pill and get better, it takes therapy and at least 30 days of the right meds before you really get any relief. I know many people say, why can't she just stay home and take a pill and get better. It doesn't work like that. She's in the throes of mental illness and needs the right meds. Since she's an adult her parents can't make her take anything. Many mentally ill people don't take their meds, or when they start to feel better they quit taking them. It's past her just being stupid and making bad decisions like we all might at some time–her brain is totally screwed up. The little trigger that would go off in our heads isn't there anymore in hers.

My sister in law is bipolar, refuses to take her meds and acts like a complete asshole too. If she does not fit the criteria to be kept on a psychiatric hold then the hospital can't keep her! Also, the psych team in the hosptial , which may not include her own personal psychiatrist ,are the best people to diagnose and treat her not the people reading about her in gossip columns.
Unless someone is psychotic, has suicidal intent, is an imminet risk to others (among other things) they realy can't be kept against their will. Having a bipolar personality or a borderline personality disorder does not in itself require commital.
We need to stop reading this as we are instigating the paparazzi going after her like bloodhounds and thus making it worse for her. They should use their control of Britney's assets to establish trusts and other financial support for the kids and provide Federline's attorneys with the testimony and evidence to make sure Britney doesn't harm her children further.That would give her a chance to get rid of them and her responsibility by blaming it all on her parents. It is SO shocking that this girl has once again been put in a dangerous, unstable enfironment, running wild on the streets of LA with the paps in hot pursuit. He has been the only one who has been saying she needs hospitalization for a LONG time, and you can see on his face that he is absolutely drained and frightened. He may not have been a model 'rent, but in this instance, he is trying to do the right thing. (Lynne, I'm not so sure of - she's more of a fame whore, but if even one tenth of the charges she has made against Lutfi are true, we need to listen to her.)

Every patient placed on a 14 day hold (5250) is entitled to a hearing. The judge and court folks come to the hospital and Britney would be there with her attorney and the hospital would be advocating for the judge to enforce the 14 day hold. It appears that Britney won her hearing. As a psych nurse, I have seen patients who clearly need psychiatric care released because they do not meet the very strict criteria required to hold someone in the hospital against their will. Most patients will submit and agree to voluntarily stay in the hospital for treatment. However, Britney has no judgement or insight into her mental illness. I hope that her parents are able to help her. This is very sad.
