A very pregnant Angelina Jolie, the goodwill ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, arrived in Iraq's capital, Baghdad, today.
The mother of four (and more on the way) met with General David Petraeus, the top U.S. commander in Iraq, the Iraqi Prime Minister, and Iraqi migration officials.
When Angie says she wants to chat, you say, "How quickly?"
In an interview with CNN early this morning, Angelina said regarding her trip, “I felt I had to come here because it is very difficult to get answers about the internally displaced people. There's lots of goodwill and lots of discussion, but there seems to be just a lot of talk at the moment, and a lot of pieces that need to be put together. I'm trying to figure out what they are."
Angelina is expected to hold a press conference today to talk about her meetings with Gen. Petraeus and Iraq's minister for displaced people.
Angelina was all talk when it came to discussing Baghdad, but when the interviewer asked her about the pregnancy reports in Hollywood, Jolie quickly interrupted her question with, "Oh, don't. Stop it. Stay true to your tradition. You're CNN. Don't do it!"
When the reporter mentioned she just had to ask, Jolie responded with "But I don't have to answer. OK?"
And the interview ended shortly after that.

Jolie has visited (first hand) refugee camps and talked with displaced people in the following countries.. Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Cambodia, Pakistan, Thailand, Ecuador, Kosovo, Kenya, Namibia, Sri Lanka, North Caucasus(Russia), Jordan, Egypt, Chad, Darfur, Beirut, Haiti, New Delhi, Costa Rica, Syria and Iraq.
She wrote journals about most of these visits and the stories that the refugees had to tell about fleeing and the conditions in the camps..
If that doesn't make her an expert.. what will?

If they were truly, truly good parents, they would move to a permanent home, STAY there and let their kids grow up like somewhat normal kids. I am sure they might want to be on a soccer team, t-ball team, etc. They make their children adapt to THEIR lives not the other way around. Selfish, selfish.

Yes, it's true, it's a very dangerous place, and it is a risk, but you don't know what it really means to risk your life until you're out on the feild with your troops strapped with a fucking rifle in case death decides to creep up on you.

I have more respect for Angie than any other actress out there. She is a classy woman who is bringing good to this world by drawing attention to these impovrished, war-torn areas. Having had the pleasure of meeting and talking with her a few times, I am more convinced now than ever that she does this work out of the goodness of her heart. If she didn't, she wouldn't have kept up with it for so many years, or have been so knowledgeable about all the horrors happening around the world. I know we have alot of poeple that need help in the USA but at least here we have programs in place. We have WIC, TANG, food stamps, we have HUD and Medicare and Medicade. We have free clinics and low income housing. We have food banks and homeless shelters. Ok I know that alot of time that is not enough but we do have program in place. I think she is trying to bring the same kind of opportunities out there and not so much that she is nelecting things here.
I am sorry - I am so very sorry - but there are how many pregnant women in the world at this very minute - women who are truly thrilled to be pregnant and wish that everyone knew. A front cover story would be the icing on the cake for these women.
By skirting the issue she is just begging for more media attention. How F*$%ING hard is it to announce a pregnancy?
But wait if she announces it God forbid the media will leave her alone - GASP!

Re: Dee – First she did not steal a husband..it is widely known that Brad wanted a family and the urge for a family was stronger than staying in a marriage that would never give him that ( no children in 7 years?) so he moved on. Second she did not steal the attention from the troops..many celebrities have gone in and out of Iraq through the years and it the media that decided who they will focus on, for some reason the news focused on her. The media brought the attention on her not like she brings along her own photogs. And third she is actually bring awarness to areas needing help. And until the news and paps grow tired of her we will continue to see her everywhere. Its a good thing that she is easy on the eyes.
Angelina is another Liz Taylor waiting to happen. Liz was beautiful back in the day but all the years of chemical dependancy took it away. Brad will be husband #3 of 10 for AJ. Multiple marriage is common with mental illness

Angie has a pattern - steal the engaged Billy Bob from Laura Dern, the married Brad from Jenn, and btw … Jenn was pregnant shortly before the filming of Mr and Mrs Smith but miscarried. Jenn wanted children too and was recovering from the miscarrage. Every couple has their ups and downs. AJ took advantage of a down. She is the reason Jen and Brad split. If Nicole Kidman has not backed down the Pitts would still be married and probably have had a child by now. The point is … Angie has careless disregard for boundaries. That is why certain people who used to be fans (myself included) find her efforts insincere.
