Washed up actor Corey Haim, he of 80s movies fame, has placed a full-page ad in Variety magazine in an attempt to revive his non-existent career.
From hasbeen to desperate hasbeen!

He actually looks semi-normal considering the fact he had to go thru rehab over a dozen times to get clean. But nobody is gonna remember who he is - give it up dude! How desperate does he sound?????
I think if Corey wants to be taken seriously, he should refrain from doing stupid shit like taking out full-page ads trying to prove his worth. I'd recommend taking the Mischa Barton road - go to acting classes and master his craft (she is a terrible actress by the way, but at least she's trying to improve). Do stage work, try to land indie rolls, stay away from reality shows and silly comedies. In a nutshell, people are only going to take him as seriously as he presents himself. Oh, and the first order of business should be for him to stop dotting his I's with a circle like a 3rd grade girl. That might help in the seriousness category.
I have no personal interest in Corey or his career, but I do agree with an earlier post of "Babs"…I don't think his ad in the trades deserves such harsh criticism. I've worked for both Variety and The Hollywood Reporter over the years and I know well that "the biz" reads those papers religiously and they are THE place to be seen. If Corey is in a 12-step program, in active recovery, yes, making amends is part of the process. I don't know whether he is sober, or not, but in the event he is, then why not trash the guy for spending his own money on an ad to let the world know that's willing, able and sober to work? If he crashes and burns if he gets an opportunity, that will be that, and it will show he's still on a self-destructive path; if not, then he'll get active employment, hopefully do some good work and be an example to others struggling for sobriety or wanting to start a new life. Let the guy prove himself..or not.

It´s easy to laugh about this but at least Haim is a hasbeen (as in used to be famous) how many of you will ever reach even an inch of that level of fame? Fuckin' nobodys.
Why not — I really think that he aged nicely and look at all the losers that are around now….why not add another to the hollywood list of waste of time people that make way to much money for doing absolutely nothing.
He should get his Goonies pals together and go on another pirate treasure hunt
So what? He's putting it out there that he wants to work again and he's clean. I give him credit. He had to know how much people would make fun of him for doing it and he doesn't care. Good for him.

This is so depressing. I loved Corey Haim growing up. I was horrified watching that damn show the two coreys, and now this. WHAT THE FUCK MAN. Ugh. This just proves exactly why I should seriously not be allowed to pick my own boyfriends.
