Natalie Cole is right in a sense that Winehouse should not be rewarded for bad behavior, however I do believe that she should be rewarded for her talent and she rightfully deserved those Grammy's. Winehouse is obviously sick and hopefully her talent and career will help her realize just how great a person she could be if she gets it together.

The Grammys (and most award shows for that matter) are more likely to give awards to a "hyped" person. For example, the year the Dixie Chicks spoke out against Bush, they won every award known to man. This is kind of the same thing. Is Amy's music that great? No. Not in my opinion, anyway. It's ok, but I definitely felt others were more deserving.

Although I am a huge fan of Amy Winehouse, I do agree with Cole. Cole did not say anything bad or malicious, she just stated the facts. Also, she gave Amy her props in recognizing her talent. Now I am glad that Amy Winehouse won, and hopefully this will help her continue her path the soberiety. I love Back to Black and even though she did not win album of the year, she won 5, which is is feat within itself. Besides, Herbie Hancock's album was really good, and it was great to the see someone who did not have quite the sales that Back to black had still win.

The grammys are intended to recognize music…I agree that Amy Winehouse is having a very difficult time and not the best role model, but if start to judge artists' abilities on the struggles or triumphs in their personal lives then we have lost sight of the music.

Giving her 5 Grammy's doesn't help her one bit. She made that music while on drugs so what makes you think she won't think she has to stay on drugs in order to produce the same thing? And yes, some (or most) musicians do some type of illegal drugs at one point or another but she was/is out of control and should not be rewarded for that behavior.
Yes, Natalie did drugs but she wasn't winning awards. There also wasn't youtube, viral videos, myspace and entertainment shows that celebrated bad behavoir.
