Country music is one of the few thriving genres in America, and Jessica Simpson, whose last CD bombed, wants a piece of that!
According to new reports, Jess' daddy/manager, Joe Simpson, proclaims that the 'singer' is close to completing her first country album and is looking at doing a reality show on CMT.
Jess probably hopes the CMT show will have a 'Newlywed effect' on her career…i.e. give her a career again.
The elder Simpson recruited some big names to work on her country album. She duets with Dolly Parton on one track and is joined on another by Willie Nelson.
John Shanks, who's worked with Sheryl Crow and Kelly Clarkson, and Brett James (Carrie Underwood) are producing.
Could be interesting.
We actually think the reality show idea would be good for Jessica. Coming full circle.

you need a work a little bit harder to make a good point. jessica is a natural blonde…born blonde, grew up blonde…not that changing your hair color makes a shit anyways. jessica was country before country was cool…she grew up in the country and was obviously raised on country and gospel. her first demos were gospel and country, and then she signed with a pop label and naturally produced a pop album because it was booming at the time. as for dating, everyone dates everyone in hollywood. jessica is smart enough to date someone who isnt interested in the limelight (unlike tom "douchebag" brady).. and for that matter, not some closet fag, pretty boy from hollywood.
Re: CARRIEROCKS – carrie crossed over into pop you dillhole. its called taking a country song and adding a faster tempo and such to make it playable on the pop stations. it doesnt matter where your roots are because all of the artists cross over.

Nope, I wouldn't watch it. I used to really like Jessica back on the Newlyweds days and her relationship with Nick was cute and very watchable. Unfortunately, she got "Karma'd" when her head got so big during Dukes of Hazzard and when her star was rising….she was the one that cheated on Nick and dumped him and now she's just a JOKE. No one takes her seriously, her career's in the toilet, she doesn't even look good anymore - she's like a caricature of herself most of the time. As was said, Jess reeks of "desperate" and she needs to just go away for awhile and see if she can re-emerge down the road a la Demi Moore or something.

If you had the facts- you would know that it crossed over into pop on its own– without any remixing or manipulation–like taylor swift did to her songs. Carrie refuses to remix any of her songs- and gave several interviews on this subject. The song was played on pop and AC radio in its original country form– fiddles and all. So before you bash- you might want to get the facts straight. Carrie is WAY smarter, more talented, prettier, nicer, and real then Daisey Dukes will ever be. But I am preaching to the choir. Just wait till Jessica's album comes out and see if it sells 527,000 copies its first week alone, like Carrie's did. When Jessica sells 7x platinum for one album like Carrie did, starts winning Country Music Awards, Grammys, and other major industry awards for her "amazing" country music- then maybe I will shut up. But I think hell will freeze over before that happens.

I think it's really lame that Jessica's doing a country album. She's just doesn't have that country image like other country stars do…I mean, you don't really see most country singers living in LA, frequenting the party scene, and blowing thousands of dollars on expensive clothes. I mean, I'm sure they maybe do it, but the difference is they don't shove it in everyone's faces or appear to be in the business just for the money or the fame. And Jessica doesn't fit that bill. She's probably not a bad person compared to Paris, Britney, etc., but she seems really fake and shallow to me.

Carrie has more talent than Jessica ever will. There are so many artists who didn't get signed to a label right away but someone picked them up and they're superstars. Idol was pretty much Carrie's last shot - she was just going to be a "normal" person with a "normal" job but she decided to give idol a try.

I think the reason why her last album bombed is because of the choices of songs, she has a really awsome voice so that can't be the reason.
