Nelly Furtado is with child, Star magazine is reporting.
The Maneater singer is engaged to sound engineer, Demo Castellon, a Cuban-American from Miami.
"She's not very far along yet, so she's trying to keep the pregnancy under wraps," says the mag.
Furtado has a four-year-old daughter, Nevis, with ex-boyfriend, DJ Jasper Gahunia.
Nelly was looking a bit fuller at the Grammy Awards last weekend (above).

Damn, get married before you have another "baby daddy". Once, ok, it happens, but TWICE? You belong on Maury. Any other chick with more than one "baby daddy" would be booed on the talk show circut and you know it!! Never been married and TWO kids by TWO different men?? If you want a family, and since you keep having kids, you must… then marry ONE of them and give those kids a real FAMILY LIFE!!! Not just a punchline to late night talk shows!! I'm Portuguese and I"m not a big fan of Nelly's. I think she has sold out and gone ghetto to be cool and hip. I'm like a bird has become I'm like a ghetto bird. She has talent yes but she has ghettoized herself (like Gwen Stefani, Madonna, and others) who adopt black culture to sell records.

I guess Hispanics get mad and resentful when Portuguese people don't want to be identified with them. The Portuguese have a beautiful culture and people admire them.

Portuguese don't resent being considered Hispanics. Some might but not all. Hispanics and Portuguese are like cousins. I should know I'm Portuguese and I travel the world including to many "Hispanic" countries where I feel right at home. I have friends in Argentina, Uruguay, Spain, etc., so don't generalize. Also there are many Portuguese people in Venezuela as well as Italians and Spaniards and guess what, they're all latinos because they're Venezuelans now. Nelly is very aware of this connection which is sometimes why she calls herself latin, hispanic etc., but no technically Portuguese are not Hispanic as we do not speak Spanish but Portuguese.

Actually I am a REAL PORTUGUESE and no I'm not a big fan of Nelly's ever since she began "ghettoizing" herself. I like her much better when she came out with beautiful original (non-ghetto) songs and before the sexy-vampish make-over. She was much more original and true to herself IMO. Sadly her second album didnt' sell like it should have which is what brought on the transformation. the same happened with .Unfortunately artists like Nelly sometimes are forced to sell out in order to remain viable and that's the road she chose. I understand it but i still don't like it.

First of all Mahlady you are not Portuguese and the more you claim it the more unconvincing you sound. Portuguese do not want to be considered Hispanic and that is a fact, no matter how much a Hispanic like you wish otherwise. We all know about the Italians and Portuguese in Venezuela and other South American countries, but they still hold onto and maintain their own cultures. So it doesn't matter if you come back a million times claiming something you are not because it just proves how uncomfortable you are being Hispanic and you try to pull in successful people from other cultures to make yourself feel better. Just because the Portuguese in these countries speak spanish, it still doesn't make them Hispanics. A White person born and reared in China is still not Chinese.
Portuguese do not speak Spanish, duh! Of course they don't, why would they, they aren't Hispanic.
Funny how the Portuguese do not mind being called Italian. There is a copy editor here where I work who was born and raised in Argentina before he immigrated to California. He speaks fluent Spanish as well as several other different languages, but he is always prompt to point out to everyone that he is Italian, even though he was born in Latin America. He does not want to be referred to as Latino.

In Italy there's a town called Latina and guess what that's where the original latins came before they became part of Rome and spread their language with the Roman Empire. Get your facts straight.

True..Spanish is an ugly ugly language. I love the sound of all the other latin languages. Dont know about romanian,never heard but I love the sound of Italian and Portuguese.
Any language that comes from the original Latin(Romance) is a Latin language. However, it is called Latini in Italian. It was the French who renamed South America, Latin America because the people there spoke Spanish. In America people constantly confuse the meaning of the term. A Hispanic comes from a Spanish speaking country, so calling people Hispanic is far more authentic than calling them Latinos. Using Hispanic and Latin as interchangeable is simply wrong.

People say bi-lingual countries are bad, at least in America we fear becoming a bilingual nation with spanish as a second language. But I don't think anyone would object to italian, french or even portuguese becoming our second official language. We just don't want it to be spanish. Spanish is not as pretty as the others.
