A gunman opened fire at Northern Illinois University on Thursday, killing five people before taking his own life.
This shit makes us so angry!!!!
Why does it seem that kind of stuff happens so much in America but not other parts of the world????
That kind of violence just makes no sense.
Our thoughts with everyone affected by this tragedy.

It does happen in other parts of the world. If Americans weren't so self centered then maybe you'd read the "World" section of your newspapers and see that there is genocide and suicide bombings going on all over the world.

three years ago a student at UNC drove his car into the commons at the university, injuring dozens of students. i guess we should outlaw cars. a psychopath hacked a psychologist to death a week ago in new york city. lets also outlaw meat cleavers and knives too. on 9/11, three planes were flown into the twin towers and the pentagon, killing thousands, so airplanes should also be considered a dangerous weapon and should be outlawed. oh, and any ingredient that can be used to make a bomb. or maybe we should take a page from the book of british law and call these actions "anti-criminal activity" just as they have decided to call terrorist attacks "anti-islamic actions". we should just outlaw everything and all live in bubbles and implement newspeak so that no one is offended and thus has any reason to harm anyone else.

Everyone else has already said it, but I need to say it too: IT'S THE GUNS! Your constitution says "you have the right to bear arms", but it was written 100's of years ago and is no longer relevant. If it was more difficult to get a gun this wouldn't happen (so often).

This has nothing to do with gun control laws. When someone has no criminal record or no record of mental illness, in both the United States and Canada, and just about any country where you're allowed to hunt animals, you can buy a gun. In almost every case, the guns were legally purchased, and there was no reason for the seller to suspect the buyer is going on a shooting spree at their local educational institution.

This stuff happens so much in America because there is NO gun control. People are gun crazy. Although I think America seriously needs gun laws, I think it may be too late. People are not going to hand in their guns. I'm from Australia and we had a shooting massacre about 10 years ago and since that happened, guns laws were immediately put into place. I heard on the news about 4 or 5 guns shootings just in the last 2 weeks. It makes me feel lucky to be in Australia.

Please do not compare Irak to America. It is a complete different subject, killing over a war, religion and so on, or killing because of social presure, bordom. I really think America needs to tighten its gun control laws. How many school shooting or other shootings have there been and nothings changed! I live in Montreal and there was a shooting at my school last year and the government tightened the gun laws and made the legal obligation of anyone who sees someone as suspicious (in gun clubs etc.) to report it. Prevention is key.

I'm a student at Northern, and we appreciate all the prayers and thoughts that go out to us, the man was a coward, this shouldn't happen to anyone especially people, who were doing what they were suppose to, these people weren't even at the wrong place at the wrong time, they were where they were suppose to be, living their life.

I'm an NIU student and proud to be a Huskie, I was on campus when this happened, watching everyone run out of the building, it was terrifying. RIP to my 5 fellow huskies, may their deaths be a reminder to all of us that we just need to love.
Australia has anti-gun laws. It's illegal to own a gun. And it's impossible to get one unless you're a farmer, policeman, or any of those professions. It's about time America followed our lead. My condolences to the families and friends. I just moved from Singapore (one of the safest country) to South Africa (one of the most beautiful country) and the crimes here are just as bad. It is sad to hear on the news that people are killed for no apparent reason, and I have only the government to blame. More strict laws on guns and murderers!!!
