Jared Leto hit a fan with his microphone while he was crowdsurfing during a U.K. show this past week.

i was there. that "fan" was using a laser. not a very small one.kept pointing at jared as much as possible. i was a little bit to the right from "fan".it was pointed at my eye too and it freaking hurt my eye and security actually asked for it.

I think it's pretty obvious that someone has a hold on his right arm and won't let go. He looks like he's pulling away, stops, tugs again, has to stop, and finally (tho admittedly stupidly) waps the person with a mike. We don't know - he could have just hit them on the arm. I sure would have!
That being said, I still think he's a douche - just for a myriad of other reasons. Great band, tho!

I'm a fan of 30 Seconds To Mars and I've been to their shows before…BELIEVE ME…I'm sure the fan that was hit deserved it. 30 Seconds To Mars fans are way too out of control and there's a difference between being touched and being groped. Jared goes into the audience to get closer to his fans because the band loves their fans more than anything, but that is no reason to try and rip him apart (literally) when he's in the audience. People are crazy and sometimes a good smack in the head is needed. Plus, the security guard was holding his other arm so he wouldn't fall on his ass so the hand with the mic was the only "free" hand so to say.

Okay c'mon. I'm not a fan but if you look at both videos, someone is holding his other hand and preventing him from moving. If someone has him pinned down, he can't even signal to security. It's not about the grabbing the goods, that's to be expected. Unless it hurts, then you have the right to hit back.

I actually LIKE 30STM and saw them live last year. I will say this: Jared Leto takes himself far too seriously at live shows.

I was at that show and the reason he did that was because someone put his finger so far up Jared's throat it made him have to spit out blood afterwards and take loads of water. Granted, if you go into a crowd you have to expect that some fans are going to be jerks, but seriously, it's not cool of someone in the crowd to do that to Jared in the first place. I am not surprised he did something back.
I was actually at a concert of his in November of 2005, I do think he's hot but he has absolutely no regard for anyone but himself. Half luck half discomfort-the entire time I got shoved up against the stage literally right underneath him, he kept stepping on my fingers….he smelled realy good though and I got good pics. During one of his songs he jumped into the crowd with his white guitar (the area I was in was small because then there are steps going up towards the bar) and wandered around swinging it. Before he got back up onstage if I didn't push him out of the way he would have swung the end of the guitar right into my head. He gave me a dirty look for pushing him but I bet he would have been more pissd if blood from me being hit in the face/head got on his guitar. I got to meet him after and he was pretty weird, sticking out his tongue and flipping everyone off but he was gorgeous. His brother Shannon and the old bassist Matt were so sweet and nice though. Tomo was nuts though.
