Obama Plagiarizes Speech
Filed under: Barack ObamaBarack Obama has been criticized for plagiarizing a speech during a campaign stop this past weekend and not being upfront about it.
The similarities between the Democratic presidential hopeful and a speech made by by Deval Patrick, the current Democratic governor of Massachusetts, back in October 2006 are striking.
Barack blatantly copied several lines and linguistic speech patterns from Deval's "Just Words" speech for Obama's own "Words Matter" speech in Wisconsin.

Both men had anticipated that Mr. Obama’s rhetorical strength would provide a point of criticism. Mr. Patrick said he told Mr. Obama that he should respond to the criticism, and he shared language from his campaign with Mr. Obama’s speechwriters.
Mr. Patrick said he did not believe Mr. Obama should give him credit.
“Who knows who I am? The point is more important than whose argument it is,” said Mr. Patrick, who telephoned The New York Times at the request of the Obama campaign. “It’s a transcendent argument.”

If someone took some segments or wrote something similar to another speech it was them. Yes, on the surface Barack did "plagarize" a few lines from Deval's speech. However, Deval's original speech is a patchwork of quotes from other people such as JFK (definitely), and perhaps MLK (I should check on that). Either way, Deval borrowed key slogan phrases from these great Americans. Since these are the phrases of icons, they are up for grabs…meaning that they can be thrown into speeches because everyone knows where the originate from.

The speechwriter worked with Patrick and Obama and thought that it was ok to use parts of Patrick speech for Obama. It's unfortunate that he did that but everything in that speech was an appropriate response to Hilliary "just words" comment.

It's obvious she and her supporters are getting desperate because all her years of plotting and planning are crashing before her eyes.
