Obama Plagiarizes Speech
Filed under: Barack ObamaBarack Obama has been criticized for plagiarizing a speech during a campaign stop this past weekend and not being upfront about it.
The similarities between the Democratic presidential hopeful and a speech made by by Deval Patrick, the current Democratic governor of Massachusetts, back in October 2006 are striking.
Barack blatantly copied several lines and linguistic speech patterns from Deval's "Just Words" speech for Obama's own "Words Matter" speech in Wisconsin.

Perez, YOU are a HYPOCRITE. You post on your site that you support Clinton and that you're not, by any means, trying to sway your readers to support her as well. You stated that what's important is for us to vote regardless on who it is, Obama or Clinton. YET, you turn around and slam Obama on stupid little things such as this. In case you haven't read by now, Patrick issued a statement regarding this issue. Obama did NOT plagiarize this speech. Patrick gave him permission– heck, he suggested it! I'm out of your site. did you read the stroy on this from the NYTimes? Patrick and Obama are close friends and often share rhetoric b/c they share similar ideologies. And it seems like something that's just a given… both African American men, both running for politics, both citing OTHER politicians quotes… I find it powerful, moving even. I think Deval should be HONORED that Barrack thought so highly of his speech to say something of a SIMILAR nature….

In a New York Times article about this Deval says that he told Obama about this and they discussed it. Now because we need to drag down Obama because your candidate is behind he plagarizes. Hi Perez, I don't usually comment but I have to say something about the way you are handling this. You have made it clear that you support Clinton and actually so do I. However, there are a lot of people who visit your site and I think you should consider the fact that you are a kind of news/media outlet and that with certain things (like the future of our country) you should make an effort to be objective to some extent and stop badgering Obama and putting a halo on Clinton.
If you want to support Clinton, show positive things about her…but don't shit on Obama and twist things around. It would be great if you can use this website politically and create a forum for discussion. It's pretty sad when Deval Patrick gets quite a response during his version of the same speech, and Barrack barely gets any. Barracks speech should have been titled "someone else's words that I'll never follow through on"…I just want to be president. If anyone disagrees hey, they're just words.

If he was paying tribute to a friend, then he would have said in my friend Deval Patrick's words from his 10/2006 speech, " blah blah blah" He didn't think he would be discovered.
