As a Democrat, I can assure you that giving obama the nod (and I am not saying he would not be ready with 4 or 8 years of national service) assures a Republican win in '08. People who support someone so obviously not qualified deserve what they get.

Obama borrowed the line from his friend, supporter, endorser Deval Patrick, who by the way, shares a political advisor in common in David Axelrod, so this is far less "shocking" if you are actually informed.
But even worse, Hillary has done the same thing, but the politicians she borrowed from had nothing to do with her, and in some cases were her opponents, as noted in this column:

June, 1976. I also discovered that the "I see an America" line has been used by Congressman Kucinich and John Edwards. Hell, a Republican running for Congress in the New York 20th named John Wallace used the "I see an America" anaphora."

The proper way to cite others' word is to give them credit. He looks unethical for doing it not once but twice and not giving credit.
A man who runs a campaign of words where he doesn't always use his own or cite properly is not ethical. He's just a guy in a suit.
And it has nothing to do with Hillary. This is about his unethical behavior. Plain and simple: he did not cite. He's been found out. The right thing to do? Admit the gaffe. The wrong thing? I had permission, blah blah. Any one with an education knows: CITE YOUR SOURCES.

For someone whose campaign rests so heavily on his great speeches, it just looks kind of bad–permission or not. If he is taking a quote from Govenor Patrick, he should reference it IN his speech. Having people find out about it after the fact just makes it seem like he ran out of original material, and couldn't think of anything insightful himself. He's obviously a smart guy, but it kind of puts a damper when you think you are hearing someone's own words, and they're actually re-hashing something their buddy said.
