Re: NObama…NOway – You hate Bush yet will vote for someone he endorse? Someone who shares most of his views. Someone so extreme.. That is craziness. I doubt Obama or Hillary will be half as bad as Mccain. Obama and Hillary share smiliar platforms so why would you jump to someone totally different if Hillary does not get the Dem nom?
That sounds weird to me..What is it about Obama you hate so much?

i hope the dems who want Hillary to win will vote for the Reps, let's see how happy they will be when Mccain chooses Two arch conservatives like Huckabee or Romney, both of whom will keep our troops in Iraq(100years). And both of whom will seal our southern borders so tight against the mexico nothing will get through. The conservatives are pushing for tighter laws against the illegals and they will build that fence if it's the last thing they do.

Re: From England – oh my gosh so well said!!
as for you perez finally realizing that obama is kicking ass dont try to come around now after all of your obama hating you clintin licker! however i do worry about obama's lack of experience but this man knows what he is doing and he's worked hard to get to where he is unlike some people who are criticizing him, the only hard work they're doing is sitting their fat asses at the computer ranting and raving. it takes a true leader to get to where he is and the same goes for hilary i dont know truly which one im going to vote for but as long as its anyone but bush

    118

I'm surprised that more people weren't put off by his klepto speech scandal this week, thus resulting in less votes. Also, I'm from Massachusetts and voted for Duval Patric (our governor and the guy who Barrack "stole" speeches from) and I must have heard that speech before. However when it came out of Barrack's mouth, he delivered it so effectively and evoked such inspiration that it could give one chills. But now it's all just A LOT disappointing! Oh well, I don't want to shit on his parade, so congrats to Barrack on his wins.

  19. trisha says – reply to this

    119

however there is a lot of glitz surrounding obama but what i truly think people are afraid of is the fact people are scared of seeing a woman or an african american in power and this fear makes me happy because that means that change is on the way…mccain? hes just another bush in my opinion and im going for hilary or obama but they both lack experience and someone has to step up an clean up the shithole left us in…i hate to say but the only reason now that we're even supporting a woman or african american president is because of the mess bush made. obama n hilary are going to change this world for the better i hope. as for african americans voting for obama because he's one of them i mean i dont necessarily agree with it but i can see why. this country has been run by way too many upper crust white man so how can african americans relate to that? its about time african americans got excited for politics now rather its obama or hilary. times are really hard now for everyone and democrats are more about the middle class than the rich.

and to the lady complaining about the abortion thing- abortion is a choice that isnt easy for many people but its still a choice, and i support it my best friend had to get one and let me tell you before you decide to pass judgement. she was raped and decided to get it and she still cries about that decision everyday so its not easy. its still a woman choice to do and it should still be allowed i understand why you're against it but try looking at the issue from both sides before you start judging people.

Listen up DEMS who threaten to vote REP if Obama wins the nomination, I'm on your side however I've been on a ton of political blogs trying to get a pulse for things and monkey man Obama is gathering such a huge turnout, his campaign folks aren't even that worried about getting Hillary's voters ome election time. They're preparing to just right us off and replace our votes with pissed off Republicans who threaten to switch party nominations instead of voting for McCain.

This *ucking sucks! They don't even care about trying to get our votes, so the only thing we can do is SUPPORT THE HELL OUT OF THE INDEPENDENT NOMINEE!!!! I think there are enough American voters our there who hate the choices we've been given to give an independent a good chance, and we should do it! The independent will get my vote!!!

  48. Democratic Voter Turnout!!! says – reply to this

    148

    #201
In the primaries and caucuses up until now, registered Democrats have been turning out in nearly TWICE the numbers as registered Republicans. Doesn't really bode well for Republicans come the general election in November, does it?
Americans are sick to death of 7 plus years of Republican rule. Dubya and his supporters have been an unprecedented DISASTER for this country. The economy is in free fall, we have perpetual warfare in Iraq, oil is sky high, and the dollar is tanking. As for so-called Republican commitment to fiscal responsibility, the national debt is at RECORD LEVELS!!! Then there are the international embarrassments of Katrina and legalized torture. The rest of the world thinks we're a bunch of uneducated idiots for putting Dubya into office TWICE. Americans won't soon forget that Republicans are the party who got us into this mess.
I happen to be an Obama supporter, but the race is in no way decided. Probably won't be until the Democratic convention in Denver. That being said, I'll support whoever the Dems elect as their nominee because 4 more years of Republican leadership is UNACCEPTABLE to me. Democratic unity is essential, if we want to get Republicans out of the White House.

Thank you for your gracious post Perez. If the Hillary camp had learned how to be more gracious early on, she might not be drowning right now. The reason so many of us are behind Obama is this: he isn't playing by "the rules"~ he hasn't gone negative yet, he doesn't take PAC or special interest groups money and he just exudes positivity. And he's winning. Proof that we are tired of the way politics are in this country. He is a once-in-a-generation leader, this is our time!!

    Re: Stop hoping.-start Realizing

Inarguably, Obama has charisma. References to "hope" and "change" have become motifs in his campaign. At times, unyieldingly so. However, these are not the only things fueling his campaign or his electability. In terms of policy, both Clinton and Obama are fairly similar. Although, they have procedural differences in terms of how they intend to achieve their objectives.

I respect senator Clinton, however, her campaign has been strategically and tactically ineffective. If you're running as the "experienced" candidate, it is quite telling if the largest organization that you have run is falling apart at the seams.

Obama's voter base is highly educated. He performs well among college educated adults and high income earners. Mud-slinging and enlisting your friends, such as Perez Hilton, to beat up the competition "Tonya Harding style" will not sway this group of voters.

Charisma and allusions to "hope" and "change" are not the cause of Hillary's weakening appeal. Rather, it is the ineffective leadership displayed by her own campaign.

    Re: Katie – #301
As a lifelong Democrat, Chicago born and raised, I am so proud of my party.
It'll be a cold day in Hell before Republicans would even consider nominating a woman or ethnic minority as a presidential candidate!
At this late date, the best they can do is McCain? Another decrepit, old white guy and war profiteer, owned by corporate lobbyists…
Mark my words, in the countdown to the general election Republicans will smear their Democratic opponent viciously. It's all they have, considering the awful record of George W. Bush.

    Part 1:
Senator Clinton, who has served only one full term (6yrs.), and another year campaigning, has managed to author and pass into law, twenty pieces of legislation in her first six years. These bills can be found on the website of the Library of Congress (www.thomas.loc.gov).

    1. Establish the Kate Mullany National Historic Site.
    2. Support the goals and ideals of Better Hearing and Speech Month.
    3. Recognize the Ellis Island Medal of Honor.
    4. Name courthouse after Thurgood Marshall.

The posters who rant about Obama's religion, drug use, and homosexuality are DESPICABLE!!! Do they really think it does their party ANY good to rely on mud-slinging and LIES???
Guess that's ALL they have when the Republican record is one of unprecedented failure. Luckily, many Americans recognize bullshit when they see it.
Try as they might to hide it, bigots and morons are easily outed. They're the ones who spell the n-word like this: "n****r." If that's what you REALLY believe, JUST SAY IT, cowards.

    Part 2:
Only five of Clinton's are more substantive.

    16. Extend period of unemployment assistance to victims of 9/11.
    17. Pay for city projects in response to 9/11
    18. Assist landmine victims in other countries.
    19. Assist family caregivers in accessing affordable respite care.
    20. Designate part of the National Forest System in Puerto Rico as protected in the wilderness preservation system.

Now, I would post those of Obama’s, but the list is too substantive, so I’ll mainly categorize. During the first (8) eight years of his elected service he sponsored over 820 bills. He introduced

    233 regarding healthcare reform,
125 on poverty and public assistance,
    112 crime fighting bills,
    97 economic bills,
60 human rights and anti-discrimination bills,
    21 ethics reform bills,
    15 gun control,
6 veterans affairs and many others.

    Part 3:
His first year in the U.S. Senate, he authored 152 bills and co-sponsored another 427. These included:
**the Coburn-Obama Government Transparency Act of 2006 (became law),
**The Lugar-Obama Nuclear Non-proliferation and Conventional Weapons Threat Reduction Act, (became law),
**The Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act, passed the Senate,
**The 2007 Government Ethics Bill, (became law),
**The Protection Against Excessive Executive Compensation Bill, (In committee), and many more.

In all since enter the U.S. Senate, Senator Obama has written 890 bills and co-sponsored another 1096. An impressive record for someone who supposedly has no record according to the spin meisters and mindless twits. I challenge Clinton supporters to name a single legislative accomplishment that demonstrates her superior experience.
