The People magazine with Christina Aguilera and her son, Max, has proven to be a dud.
The issue is expected to sell 1.3 million copies.
The average weekly sales for People, though, is 1.4 million.
The mag likely doesn't see the underperformance as a loss, even though they paid close to $2 million for the baby pics.
"They probably do it to keep someone else from getting their hands on it and to preserve their reputation that they always get the best on weddings and babies," says an industry insider.
It should be very interesting to see how the Nicole Richie baby pics do!

Nicole Richie pics will do better. The problem is there was no scandal around her pregancy. Hollywood likes scandal and likes to view it up close. Her pregnancy was happy, healthy, and normal. According to hollywood standards thats boring. Nicole had the weight thing, everybody watching to see her baby bump and then her husband is also well known. Christina's baby is gorgeous but I am more curious about Nicole's.

I dont usually go around whomping people on the head with my beliefs about childbirth and I generally believe that any birth that feels safe to a woman is right, esp if it results is a healthy mom and baby. But when someone makes such an ignorant, misinformed statement, such as C sections are safer than natural birth, I have to respond. And I am sorry if people are just wanting to read about xtina's baby pics, not women's (non-sexual) vag issues. I mean that! Just skip over my post!
But it is dangerous to say such misinformed things, and all I would like if for pregnant women to do some research of their own and not just blindly trust doctors. Don't take the lazy way out when it comes to an issue this important!
Surgical birth sets into motion negatives that you obviously have no idea about.
For example: A woman needs pain meds for a surgical birth. Those meds dope up the baby too. Baby is too dopey to nurse immediately after birth. Mom produces colostrum after birth–baby needs to ingest this because it is a one-chance transmittance of immune system enhancers. Surgically born babies don't get this.
One small example. Birth is a complex process that nature has designed just fine. Our fears cause us to try and "improve" on the experience, to the detriment of both moms and babies.

First of all I am a mother, second, find me a mother who does/did not know her birthing options. Seriously, give women benefit of the doubt. With sites like babycenter & the internet in general we have a wealth of information at our fingertips, sometimes too much. Every birth is different, we all have different pain tolerance, things can change very quickly during labor, etc. I had an epidural which I highly recommend & god bless the person who discovered it. My daughter was able to breastfeed just fine after birth & did so until she was 18 months old. How can you lump every womans experience whether vaginal or c-section, epi or not, healing time, after effects into one? Ask 100 women about those things & you'll get a hundred different experiences.

Does this surprise anyone? Christina was never as popular as Britney. I am surprised she got paid as much as she did for her baby pics. Honestly, I think the American public will be more interested in Brangelina, Halle, and even J.Lo's twins before Christina. Her last cd tanked, her pregnancy photos were also a flop too. I wanted to see Nicole's new baby Harlow before hers.
I think it's jumping the gun and exaggerating to flat-out say "NO ONE CARES". I'm sure some do. I don't, but that's just me. I'm happy for her, but the buck stops there. Don't need to read about her, or any of the other new moms. I think it's in poor taste to pimp out your baby for money. Having a child is an everyday occurrence. Not sure what makes Xtina's situation so special or unique.

Actually, most midwives will not cut because they will put in the time necessary to allow a woman to birth vaginally but having just recently finished a nursing clincal rotation on a L&D floor, I saw many OB docs reaching for the scissors. Also, any tearing, even grade 1 lacerations may be stictched up - unless they are using another method of closing. Just FYI.

The compression of the birth canal allows for far better lung expansion with the first breath and far fewer respiratory complications at birth. The head is also designed to compress. There are many complications for mothers and babies from C-sections. It is because of dipshit lawyers that Ob's are performing more and more sections. and btw, urinary incontinence is the SAME incidence statistically. I sat through an 8 hour conference on that just last year.

There is no way to "know" how many it sold yet. I am in the magazine business and copies sold aren't even realized until about 10 days after the issue comes out. They cannot tell what didn't sell to count yet since they are still on the shelves until Friday.
