The People magazine with Christina Aguilera and her son, Max, has proven to be a dud.
The issue is expected to sell 1.3 million copies.
The average weekly sales for People, though, is 1.4 million.
The mag likely doesn't see the underperformance as a loss, even though they paid close to $2 million for the baby pics.
"They probably do it to keep someone else from getting their hands on it and to preserve their reputation that they always get the best on weddings and babies," says an industry insider.
It should be very interesting to see how the Nicole Richie baby pics do!

I was thinking in the grocery store today while looking at the cover how I really didn't give a shit about her and her baby, and wouldn't buy her on any cover. What do you expect…..why would anyone care considering she never even confirmed her pregnacy. I totally understand keep quiet about a pregnacy in the 1st or 2nd trimester. It's not selling because we're all tired of the baby coverage. The celebs seem to love the press of having a baby as much as their families. She is a good singer, but I don't care about her birth choices or nursery decorating tips. Her choices aren't medically necessary or advisable for her or her baby, but whatever, she can pay for elective c-section and the plastic surgery later to fix herself all up. Oh, and how did she convince you to take down the post that quoted why she had the c-section?

She had an elective c-section and just "guessed" if he was full-term to have her schedule together.
