I'm an Obama Woman BUT even I think this "scandal" is pretty weak due to it being largely unsubstantiated. There are plenty of other reasons not to vote for this guy. I want more meaty evidence of his ties to special interests (which incidentally is one of many things he and Hillary have in common!)

This story is about a respected Senator who has been quite self-righteous regarding political influence and it's relation to lobbyists, GETTING CAUGHT in a huge conflict of interest. Who cares if he was fucking her? The point is, he had a very close, personal relationship with a lobbyist for an industry that he was partly responsible for regulating. Maybe if you turned off the FoxNews once in a while, you wouldn't be too fucking dim to realize that THAT is what this is all about.
This story is completely unwarrented and they haven't even come out with who their "secret source" is. The alledged woman has already come out and said the story is completely false. Everyone knows the NY Times is a liberal POS and completely biased!!
4. Most of the people posting comments here are probably too fucking ignorant to realize WHY this conflict of interest is a big deal and why it's important, and why it's coming to light NOW. These kinds of conflicts of interest (fox in the henhouse, for you dumb fucking hick Republicans) are pretty common. It's not really much of a story that YET ANOTHER Republican is selling out his position on a committee for cash money from the exact same people he's supposed to be regulating. But, when that Republican gets this close to actually becoming president, IT BECOMES NEWS. This lobbyist had been running all over town bragging about the "access" that she had with McCain. The relationship only became inappropriate because it became a conflict of interest. With McCain having close personal ties with a lobbyist for an industry that he was charged with regulating, the honorable thing to do, the thing you'd expect a war hero to do, would have been to step down from his post on that particular committee.
5. This country is growing ever more pathetic and embarrassing. Comments like the ones I've read here make me ashamed. I'd like to have an America that I can be proud of again. But, that can't happen if you guys don't wake the fuck up and start paying attention to what's actually happening. If we're choosing the leader of the free fucking world based on things like, "well, I heard he's one of them Muslims" or "he's black, look how those colored folks live" or "Hillary cried! Maybe she is human? I'll vote for her" then we truly are in deep shit. I don't know if you guys feel any less intelligent than the generation that came before you. But, you are. You should know this. It's the only way you can do anything about it. If you think that McCain "deserves" to be president because he was a fucking POW, then you should meet some of the former POWs that I know.
