And about the poll- that's a really good question. What counts as losing your virginity- it can't be a broken hymen for girls, because hymens are not all the same and they can break other ways. And let's not even get started with the concept of male virginity. Muy confusing.

no not at all. if you choose to remain a virgin until marriage whether it be for religious or personal reasons, youre vowing to not have sexual intercourse until being married. The reason many do so, is so that when they marry they can give their spouse its symbolizing giving your whole being to that one person and since sex is an act with a purpose of reproducing, its saying they are the one person you want to have a family with and share the rest of your life with as well. Many people also do this so that the relationship is based on the person theyre with, and not their bodies. It takes a lot more love to be with someone knowing there will be no sex involved, and i think that's a good way of looking at a person and how willing they are to sacrifice "needs" to be with someone they care about. But everything else, such as kissing and pleasing can be performed as its not a form of reproducing; which seems a little hypocritical, but it just depends on the individuals, and their personal stand on the belief. but we're all only human.
