I know everyone is intitled to their own opinion but some of these posts make me want to scream. Ok here we go.
1> Just because it is called oral sex doesn't mean it is SEX….it IS a sexual act.
2>If you are taking a vow to remain totaly pure until marriage then yes BJ an OS should be off limits to because they are sexual acts.
3>Amanda is right you can get pregnant without having actual sex. If a guy blows his load anywear near your vagina you can get pregnant with actuly having sex. Look it up.
4> Petting, touching, dry humping, BJs, and OS are all things you can do to satisfy your urges while remaining a virgin untill you are ready to go all the way.
5> If you do decide to partake on any of the above mentioned activities there is still a risk of getting an STD so you still need to be very carefull of who you do these things with and be safe about it as well. use condoms even when you are not having SEX to protect your self from accidents.

so the jonas brothers are Christians and saying that you will remain a virgin until marriage is an awesome thing. and it can be done. Its not just about having sex its about being pure. It probably sound stupid but its not. In this crazy world someone has to make a stand for something worth standing for. So its possible and something that more people should consider.

Technically it doesn't count, you aren't losing your virginity, BUT, you aren't staying pure. So, no, its not likely that either of those actions will occur with them, or anyone else who plans on keeping the vow of purity till marriage.
They will stay virgins until marriage, they made these promises because they are very close to god, I know many of their close family friends in the NJ area and they feel the same way about this, they have the same believes and are sticking close to them

I'm not saying this from a virginal perspective. Sexual pleasure is a WONDERFUL thing, but if you're not in a deep and committed relationship you will ultimately feel like crap. Therefore - waiting for marriage is a smart way of doing that, if you believe in that institution or that there is a religious mandate to do so (I personally don't) but all around, it's best to keep your goodies to yourself unless it's right, for both your physical and emotional health.
So anyone who naysays and calls these lovely brothers whatever rude names, enjoy yourselves out there!!
Considering they have the focus and energy to put on great shows and make quite an astonishing success of themselves, I'd say their doing themselves (and all us fans) a favor by not chasing tale like a bunch of lowlifes.

In order to answer, we need to know the reason for their (lame) decision. If to stay chastily pure, both should count….if to avoid babies or barnacles, neither should.
If you are speaking about the meaning of chastity, it doesn't mean abstinence, it means recognizing sex as a wonderful thing that has very serious implications and therefore acting accordingly. Sex is meant to be a sharing of this great thing, so to reduce it to something that is one person using another, like a man using their partner for a blow job or hand job, is to cheapen the meaning of sex. And since the best way to enjoy sex is in intercourse, and the consequences of intercourse could include STDs and pregnancy, it is the responsible thing to do to wait until you are in a stable situation, i.e. marriage, to engage in such activities.
It varies from person to person. A lot of Christians say that oral sex is still considered sex and argue that oral is just an adjective…
In the terms that they are talking that means nothing more than kissing. All the fun other stuff is concidered "heavy petting" and goes against everything they are trying to achieve.

to be virginal means to be pure. to be pure means to not have been sexually exploited. if you've participated in a sexual act with another person, you've been sexually exploited. so, it DOES count as losing your pureness, which is therefore your virginity.

Fornication in Greek actually means "sexual sin" and there is no clear definition of what that infers. I think that sexual sin includes all things apart from kissing. This is not to say that not partaking in these things is easy. It is not. But supporting those who make the decision is always positive.

I have good family friends that are good family friends with the Jonas family. This family attended the same church as the Jonases. From this family I was told that the Jonas boys took a class about how its the right thing to stay "pure". They made that promise when they were still living here in Wyckoff and they will keep that promise until their wedding day. I have faith in the boys and they will not break this promise. I stayed a virgin until I got married and my husband did too. We were 20 and 25. People are so into instant gratification these days that they think it's okay to whore themselves out. It's disgusting. I'm proud and SO happy that we both waited.
Well, although I have not made some huge promise to stay a virgin till mariage b/c it's not some promise I will make and then hate myself at a later date for, I do still consider myself a virgin even though I have participated in oral.
