If you are a young person in America that shares similar beliefs as the Jonas Brothers….

They have to say something to keep trolls like Perez off their d**ks. The 15yr old is prob a virgin, but i think the 20yr old is fibbing.

I'm waiting (I'm 21, so it is possible). In my book, blowjobs do count (since it would be penetrating an orifice of your body) but handjobs don't.

Does butt sex count? Maybe not in the Land of Faeries. Those 3 are such talentless fruits, its not even funny. I wonder how much plastic surgery they have had done? It looks like they have gotten new faces. One of them which is probably not a virgin, since he dated that little slut Miley Cyrus. And the way her voice is, it sounds like her balls dropped long ago.

it all depends in ur personally beliefs to some people it includes oral sex n hand jobs to others that dosnt count

  6. Caden Oak Orion says – reply to this

(((ANAL))) sex would still make them virgins. Besides, they won't follow through on it. SELL OUT LOSERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sell Outs

  7. ARO says – reply to this

    307

They both do count. Any kind of sexual contact should be avoided so that there will not be temptation to go further.. I should know, I am a 25 year old virgin who shares the same beliefs

  8. Kellie says – reply to this

    308

I have made this decision and yes these both count as sex.

  9. hannah says – reply to this

ewww perez! there just boys. respect their decision. i love them for everything and to EVERYONE: this wasnt a publicity stunt it was their decision they made a long time ago.

So in other words, they're still virgins if they are getting rammed in the ass, not doing the ramming right?

first i have to say good for them but second it WONT LAST…like everyone else has said they are young guys and they are now in the business where there ae sooo many temptations…and they are guys…guys can never hardly ever say no to anything that involves sex

  15. stones says – reply to this

    315

i think they are serious. although they're young i think they realize what responsiblilty saying that comes with. just because your teen or in your twenties doesnt mean you have to have sex. but i do think that oral sex and hand jobs count.

    323

Just ask anyone who is stupid enough to claim that a hand job or oral is not sex this question:

Would you mind if your signifigant other got a hand job or oral from someone else while at a party or on business trip? Most people would say yes and thereby exposing their hypocrisy.

  24. CiCi says – reply to this

    324

i think it's way awesome that the jonas brothers are open about their choice of abstinence until marriage. they can be a good influence om the youth today unlike so many other icons.

oh yeah, oral sex totally counts as losing your virginity. it's just not intercourse that counts.

  25. mary says – reply to this

    325

    actually it all counts.
    sex is sex.
    however disappointing it might be.

  26. kara says – reply to this

good for them. i'm trying to do the same. oral counts as sex but a hj doesn't

  27. Nada says – reply to this

    327

First, I'm honestly not making this up: I worked with young twenty-somethings in the midwest 6 or 7 years ago where there were lots of these "virgins until marriage" teens and twenty-somethings. Here's what several of them told me (and, again, I swear I am not making this up): while none of them are having vaginal sex (that hymen remains intact, baby!) instead they are engaging in not only handjobs and oral sex but also–pardon the pun–shitloads of anal sex. Truth: the hymen remains intact so technically they remain "virigins." Don't you love it?!!!

    stop hating them!

  33. Dr. Truth says – reply to this

    333

To all who say it doesn't count…

does that mean it isn't 'cheating' if your spouse someday gets/gives oral & hand sex from people other than you?

Why not, if if isn't sex?

Bet you'll change your tune when it happens to you.

And why is herpes (1 or 2) from oral sex considered a 'Sexually Transmitted Disease' if it isn't sex?

They don't call it a Blow Job Transmitted Disease.

    Think about it.

  34. Morgan says – reply to this

    334

I share the same belief in waiting to have sex before marriage. I also do believe that oral sex is kind of cheating. Any type of sexual intercourse is really crossing the line. I think it all depends on your morals and stand point.

  35. katie says – reply to this

omg i hate all these people making fun of the jonas brothers
    it's there decision
i love them to death and i think all these haters need to shut up and go fuck themself for being rude dumbasses that dont know anything and need to shut there ugly fasces because the jonas brothers are way better looking then them anyways

DONT DO IT! WAITING FOR MARRIAGE IS THE STUPIDIST THING YOU CAN DO- TRUST ME I DID AND I WILL ALWAYS REGRET IT. Nothing is wrong with sex as long as you respect and protect yourself.

  38. daisy4given says – reply to this

    338

Oral sex and hand jobs are "sex acts" but not intercourse. I think most people consider losing their virginity to happen with intercourse. On a side note, my husband and I are both very attractive and were 22 & 25 year old virgins when we got married! Most of our friends were virgins, too when they got married in their mid twenties. It's actually more common now days than you'd think.

Kevin already lost his virginity, had sex like twice, but then stopped because he felt bad.

  43. Lola says – reply to this

    343

Oral "sex" = Sex. Otherwise it would be called just oral or oral pleasure or some shit like that. Hand job? I'm not sure but I would tend to think that it's a sexual thing to do so maybe that's a yes.

I bet that these three deprived boys will get married in a hurry just to get laid and then divorce two years later because, well, that's what celebrities do! Who wants to join the pool????????????????

  44. fhgdgh says – reply to this

    344

they are way to cute to not have sex

  45. WTF says – reply to this

    345

Are you fucking kidding me? Handjob's oral sex and anal sex is SEX for god sakes. What the hell is wrong with these young people. If they are that fucking stupid to believe that it isnt sex then their parents are FUCKING IDIOTS and should chain their little lovlies down until they understand what sex it. Anyone who dosnt think that those things are not having sex you better get some help. IDIOTS

  46. Geez Louise says – reply to this

    346

    Sex = sexual activity.
If you engage in sexual activity, it's sex.
The mouth is 'penetrated' during oral sex.
Your bare genitals contact someone else, it's sex.
Just drop all the legalistic lingo & nonsense.
You sound like Bill 'I did not have sex' Clinton.
Anything beyond kissing or solo masturbation = Sex.
Get over it and just admit sexual activity is sexual activity is sex.

its a great thing that their doing. maybe for once pregnancy rates will go down…its ok to be a guy and not have sex….SEX DOESNT MAKE A PERSON

    350

Its a nice idea and a great message to their fans (who are mostly minors) but it isnt going to last. With all these girls throwing themselves at the J-Bros. its not going to happen.

It will be nice while it lasts.

Re: Geez Louise – AMEN sister… Thank you for breaking it down for the idiots who DONT think its sex… THANK YOU SO MUCH

  52. juniper says – reply to this

    352

My first response to this question would be that young, Christian kids who make these sorts of Sunday School "saving myself" vows aren't often thinking about possible loopholes to the no sex rule because they may not even realize what varieties of loopholes there may be! For example, if you'd asked me what a hand job is back when I was 14 or 15, I might have thought you meant manual labor. And many of the responses thus far talk about penetration: what aboutt!ttyf^@king? I'd guess it's not something that very young people would even think to consider. Only when you've had a rich and varied sex life can you truly appreciate all the iterations of affection and intimacy, and only then can you even begin to judge the relative intimacy of different forms of sensuality. Real innocence underlies decisions to "save oneself for marriage," except in cases, like Britney's, Xtina's and Jessica's, where such decisions (or purported decisions) are part of a PR scheme. Then again, I'm a girl. My guess is that guys figure out what a hand job is (among other things) much sooner.

  53. Kaylin says – reply to this

    353

I love those boys. And their promise just makes me love them more. For those of you that think they'll crack, not all people are sex fiends. I'm 19 and still going strong with my purity ring.

  54. juniper says – reply to this

    354

Secondly, speaking again from the perspective of a girl, the kinds of people who make an earnest decision to abstain from sex until marriage are also the sorts of people who might be sanctimonious about partaking of other forms of intimacy like oral sex, anal sex, finger-f^@king. Like you, Perez, I think it's interesting to find out what other people characterize as sex, but this is not an argument or line of thought that young prudish born-agains are going to enter into. You'll never hear a less reasoned argument than the one you'd hear if you asked a 14 year-old Southern Baptist boy whether or not it's sex if he puts his little willie in his girlfriend's armpit. Many Christian might say that anything but missionary is bad, so it doesn't even matter if you consider it sex or not. It's "of the devil," so it doesn't really matter where it falls on the sex spectrum.

  55. adrienne says – reply to this

    355

yes that does count loosing your virginity

  56. juniper says – reply to this

    356

This is a tough question, and opinions are informed by so many cultural and age-related factors. Those who've actually had different forms of sex would answer differently, I imagine, than people who've actually made the vows. And the younger people who answer this will also say crazy naive things like "anything that can give you an STD is sex. So, kissing is sex if you get oral herpes? (You CAN get Type 2 herpes on your mouth). And t!ttyf^@cking, which I'm pretty sure can in no way transmit disease, is not sex? The fantastic array of sexual possibilities, combined with this strange American preoccupation with virginity, makes responses to this question turn silly pretty quickly. So, if the 20-year old Jonas Brother gets a girlfriend and decides to give the poor girl a break and go down on her, is he now no longer a virgin? Most guys probably wouldn't count that. But is the behavior chaste, or innocent? Not so much. You can hardly expect to withhold all forms of intimacy until marriage (hand-holding? nuzzling?) but I guess each person must decide for themselves what acts they'll save for marriage, or the partner that they love, etc.

  57. juniper says – reply to this

    357

Finally, the Jonas Brothers are making the chastity claim in a very earnest way, and I can't say I have a problem with it: most guys get away with being manwhores, so it's kind of cool that they're opening themselves up for criticism if they do partake in activities that girls would be condemned for at their age. We don't often get to call guys out, so if they want to offer themselves up and be held accountable, fan-fricking-tastic. they'll also have to go through many of the same ideas I've brought up as they decide where the line of chastity is for them, and they'll have to draw on those principles to explain to the public when/if they're caught making out in some club. Should be interesting to see if their principles really come to light, or whether their principles simply turn into a series of justifications for questionable acts of intimacy.

  71. beth says – reply to this

    371

Oral sex and hand jobs DO count as losing your virginity. The reason people choose to stay virgins until marriage is because they know God created that kind of intimacy for husband and wife to share together. Oral sex and hand jobs are two things that involve two people getting way too close with each other before marriage. That is something you should share with and only with the person you are spending the rest of your life with: your spouse. Thanks for bringing up the topic, Perez!

  72. Brittany says – reply to this

    372

Yes they both count. Maybe not neccessarily as losing your virginity….but of not being sexually pure. The idea is to remain single until you find the one you love so you can look them in the eyes on your wedding day and (honestly) be able to tell them that they are the only person who you have shared this with. Instead of slutting around and getting your heart broken. (think about it…how many people in hollywood are actually HAPPY in love? …like 5 right?) Or….an STD. How romantic are STDs? :S

  76. ja says – reply to this

    376

Perez, you are so fucking ignorant. Obviously if someone takes a vow of chastity they aren't going to have oral sex or handjobs. I think that the point is not to be a whore.

  77. Good for Jonas! says – reply to this

    377

    Re: D
    There are ugly non-virgins too.

I think what the Jonas Brothers are doing is great, especially with the whole Jamie Lynn pregnancy. So many kids look up to her and some might think having sex young is what they should do. Now with the Jonas Brothers saying they are going to wait till marrige hopefully it will change the kids minds. I might not be waiting till marrige I will probably wait till I find the right person but thats because I don't want to get pregnant I want to have a career and not be stuck taking care of a kid. I don't want STD's and the last thing I would want is to be considered a slut. I don't know how people can sleep with so many people thats so dirty.

  78. Joy says – reply to this

    378

Yes they do count. at least to me. you're supposed to keep yourself pure, and blow and hand jobs are not pure. I'm 17 and I plan on staying a virgin till I'm married.

    COngrats to them!
    God is great.
I don't think hjs and bjs count but you can still get STDs from them

  84. Jessica says – reply to this

    384

Those things count as sex. I think that when you do that, you are slowly giving away part of yourself that you will never get back. When you get married and have that relationship, you want to be able to give yourself to your partner wholly. Plus when people say it is no strings, strings are there and hearts can get hurt. Beside the fact of my religious beliefs, doing those things can give you STDs, possibly HIV/AIDS, and many other harmful things. You can always be careful, but I think abstainince is best. I don't judge those who do, because people make mistakes or think that is what they want. But to each is own and I do not think it is OK to tear others down because they want to wait and proclaim that. The Jonas Brothers want to tell kids and young adults that it is okay to wait and no one should feel pressured to have sex because "everyone else is doing it." I think the kids of this generation are better off, because there are more of us who think this way and as a 20 year old in college where pressure is insane, I think it is amazing.

    389

    People make these promises because:
    a) their faith, which is why I feel that the Jonas brothers, Jessica Simpson and Miley Cyrus have made these promises
    b) some celebrities, I feel, have made these promises as a publicity stunt, ie Britney Spears
It is not something to be made fun of, but as Perez originally said, it is something admirable. I think a lot of ppl would be better off if they made, and kept, this promise.

And, no, doing those things does not count as staying celebate. It is being pure 100%.

Hand jobs and blow jobs certainly do not count as losing your virginity! But honestly, I don't know why people would want to remain a virgin until marriage. As long as you're well educated and know all the risks of STI's and pregnancy, you'll be fine, and will enjoy a safe and happy sex life! Which is simply wonderful… They're missing out!!

miley cyrus or vanessa hudgens had a purity ring nd said all the stuff the jonas brothers say than i can see ppl being like i dont believe them cause they've done stuff bad already like pics on the internet but the jonas brothers have not done 1 single thing wrong at all yet so why would ppl be bashing on them for the purity rings cause so far compared to every other celebrity they've done rly well…i think people are trying to make them look realllly bad.. but its so horrible because theres no proof.. but its different too cus theyre guys.. its not like they will get pregnant.. lol but people are sooo negative.. like why cant they just take it positivly and say o thats good for them..because if they are tryign to get the jobros to admit what theyve done.. its not gonna happen

i think it definetly does because remaining a virgin is about remaining pure and if you are involving yourself in any kind of unpure act (which is what sexual acts before marriage is) then you are no longer a virgin. its like if you promise God your not going to eat the cake but you lick all the icing off, bottom line is you ate some of the cake.
