And the reason people make these vows is so they DON'T regret it when they're older and actually in love. Sometimes it's religion, sometimes it's fear, sometimes it's both, other times it's neither. You may not lose your physical virginity, but you had performed a sexual act, and have lost your spiritual virginity. I know, I know, not everyone decides to remind virgins for a religious reason, but in my book oral and handjobs both count as types of sex, and you lose your virginity if you engage in the activity.
