i have this same belief. i am going to remain a virgin until marriage.
however, i have messed up sexually in the past. in other words, i gave a co-worker a hand job behind the dumpster at work….. not my most flattering moment. HOWEVER - i would NOT count that as losing or even affecting my virginity. i am a virgin. my hymen is in tact. =)

Young guys like that, admired by young women have a responsibility to portray themselves ina considerably more intelligent light. Maintaining your viginity before is a farce, as is marriage itself. I really think it depends on the person. Personally, I don't think bjs, hjs, or even anal (unless you are gay, virginity is just a perspective) affect it. But if they do stick with their oath, at least it won't be a regretable experience. I lost my virginity at 14 to a guy I had known for a day, and haven't spoken to him since. Yes, I really do regret it and you can call me a whore if you wish.

i share the same thoughts on being pure till my wedding night (which is one reason i LOVE the JoBros) and i think doing anything sexual is breaking that promise.
Someone said it earlier….these boys will marry early and end up divorced later. I am not promoting promiscuty by any means, but sex and other sex acts can be a wonderful or not so wonderful part of a serious monogomous relationship. I admire the Jonas Brother's stand on remaining virgins until marriage. It is downright refreshing when you think of it. I think that it all depends on the persons definition of virginity. Plus, it's different for girls and guys, since for girls the only thing that takes away from their virginity is penetration… so I guess for guys it's different.

I think oral and hjs technically is not loosing virginity but there's a real fine line bet. the two and it depends on what the person thinks but then again both are sexual acts.

I think that JB knows what they are doing, they chose to make the promise way before they became famous and if they didn't think they could do it they wouldn't continue to tell people about it. Also they are pretty brave (as guys) to let tons of people know this personal choice they have made especially since these days people think loosing their virginity is so "cool". To me a decision like this is all about principles and self respect…
It depends. If you take a vow of chastity, that means nothing pleasurable: hand jobs, blow jobs, etc. You have to remain "pure" for your future spouse. However, for non-religious reasons, you're no longer a virgin once you've had intercourse. Eh, that's my opinion anyway. I took that vow of chastity when I was sixteen, and now I'm nearly twenty-one and still true to my promise. I think once you get out of your teenage years, it gets easier to reamin true. But, man oh man, these guys are gonna have a tough time with it. I would almost guarantee at least one of them is going to break it.
I'm a young person and I do believe that oral and any other for of sexual pleasure (besides kissing) is losing your virginity.

Yes those count. I'm now a happily married 25 year old. But, my husband & I made the same vow, and all that it doesn't entail, and kept it. I highly recommend it and believe the Jonas' Brothers can keep their vows.

I too share these beliefs, although I am now married (and no longer a virgin, ha!) But, I did wait until marriage for ALL sexual contact. Kissing, hugging, cuddling were all allowed, but any sort of manipulation of the sexual organs I avoided. I felt it was a moral issue, not just an issue of what was "technically" considered sexual intercourse. Oral sex is just a simulation or variation of actual sex, so I definitely considered it to be sex.
I know that most people nowadays don't share these views, and I'm not judgemental about what others choose. I have always been extremely happy with my choice though. I waited until I was 25 and married to have sex, so it is definitely possible to wait. I have never spent one single second of my life worrying about STD's, or illegitimate children. That's a nice benefit.
