MARION COTILLARD. CONGRATULATIONS. SHE REALLY DESERVED IT. AN AMAZING PERFORMANCE IN LA MOME.
All those awards for No country for old men, well I believe all were justified except … best picture. No Atonement and There will be blood were better.
you left out best actress and shit like that..
but im glad Juno won at least something..they should have done better though
Has to be the worst year for films. The only one worth seeing is Juno
!!LOL!! Nooks is killing me! Please stop correcting Nooks!
Re: Henry –
I know I thought Amy was great. I didn't watch Enchanted but I think I will now.
Can't believe Viggo Mortensen didn't win! Bue then again, Daniel Day Lewis did a good job…
Thanks for keeping us tunned perez
Ellen Page = Young Jodie Foster
Re: Ashlynn –
Did you honestly just call Daniel Day Lewis a "stupid, talentless actor"? You seriously need to think that statement over. Johnny Depp is a phenomenal actor, but Daniel Day Lewis is probably the greatest actor of his generation. Your opinion of him is probably only so low because he is so very picky about movie roles, so you won't have witnessed him in action before (He's only made 3 films in the last 10 years).
Johnny Depp will no-doubt win an award, and soon. 2008 just wasn't his year. I honestly believe that if his singing was stronger, he'd have stood a better chance.
omg omg wtf what about ellen page..
Im not a lesi but i totally love her!!!!!!! Juno is my FAVE movie!
all i have to say is johnny depp was robbed AGAIN!
Daniel Day Lewis was AMAZING in There Will Be Blood. A reporter asked Tommy Lee Jones (also nominated) who should win, and even he said DDL. No surprise. Best actor in the world right now.
That was the dullest oscars ever.
Next year it will probably be televised on Nickelodeon rather than a network.
SUCK!
didnt watch but heard they suxed
Jhonny Deep is the best actor!!!!
Maybe u are pissed because it wasn't the fucking grammy's!!!
Nooks maybe u are pissed because it wasn't the fucking grammy's!!!
IM SO MAD JOHNNY DEPP SHOULD HAVE WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am so repulsed by the cadavered over mad eup women in Hollywood. They try do hard to bring back a glamouros era, but they are disgusting.
Bring back Grace Kelly, Kim Novack, AUdre Hepburn who were just themselves and not trying to be someone else and pretending they could act.
DISGUSTING!!!!
woot!!! the frames for life!!!!
love glen =]
Sooo Boring.
ellen page didn't win? yay!

nooks- you are a fucking idiot, it was the academy awards, not the grammys
Juno sucked
Only one more reason that I didn't need to trash you and what you "believe in". You've become so Hollywood I'm not even interested, nor are the people in my city! Please go back to what you do best, you're doing a great job making people hate you and that's not what life's about.
Geez, wut's with all those foreigners winning… I sure am glad I didn't watch the oscars this year-it would hav been a total waste of my time:(
Re: kacup –
You can't be serious! The Best Picture nominees were great this year with the exception of Juno which was forgettable. And I can't believe people are calling Daniel Day-Lewis a talentless actor. Philistines…
I would have liked to see Atonement win more awards, including Best Picture, but I'm still content with No Country for Old Men. Overall, there weren't very many surprises, but I was really glad that Marion won!
all of you saying the oscars given to non-american actors is unfair are retarded!
cotillard, day-lewis, swinton, bardem… who cares if they're european!? truth is they're TALENTED, and they deserved their oscars bigtime!
and saying juno & ellen page were robbed! i mean common' it's a good movie and she's nice but her performance is nothing like cotillard's.
It was the OSCARS!!!
Daniel Day-Lewis … what an extraordinary actor. He never disappoints. Looking forward to what he does next as an actor. Also looking forward to what movie Cate Blanchett does next.
Re: Nooks – It was the OSCARS!!!
Boo hoo.. I don't have cable… couldn't watch them… :-{
Juno was robbed.
Kate Blanchett was robbed and so was Johnny Depp! Worst Oscars ever!!!!
Pretty boring! But whoot for no country for old men!
you dumbass! it wasn't the grammys it was the oscars! Get it fucking straight if you're gonna diss it bitch!
SO GLAD FOR MARION COTILLARD AND LA VIE EN ROSE YESSS
SHE ALREADY THE ACTRESS AWARD IN FRANCE 1 DAY AGO AND A BRIT ONE 1 WEEK AGO
WHAT AN ACHIEVEMENT FOR A FRENCH MOVIE
VIVE LA FRANCE
Re: elaine –
i think he/she meant ALL the winners are non-american, so no need for your detailed list elaine.
obviously non-americans have won oscars over the years, you would have to be an idiot not to know that!
I didn't watch in an effort to avaoid what I suspect was endless hours of Writer's Strike jokes and akward teleprompter given jokes between presenting stars who barely know eachother.
The recap was much better, I assume.. I'm sure I'll catch all the fallout on the redcarpet fashon reviews that will run on different entertainment channels at nauseum.
Do I sound sarcastic? Didn"t mean to, just being honest.
Re: ry – AGREED.
C'mon the Irish!
Go Glen and Marketa!!!
…and depending on what school of thought you're from Daniel Day Lewis!
never even heard of the movies "the will be blood" "no country for old men" and "la vie en rose"
NO!NO!NO!!!!!
JOHNNY DEPP SHOULD HAVE WON THE OSCAR!!!
what is wrong with these people?
since when is nicole kidman from hawaii?? she's all australia bitches, johnny depp and cate blanchett should have won
Hollywood is going to hell in a handbasket and I can't say I'll miss em. They churn out pure shit all year insulting our intelligence and damaging our society with their perverted crap then once a year they get all gussied up and give awards to movies no one saw to try and convince us they have class and know what "art" is. GIVE ME A FUCKING BREAK. I don't even bother seeing Hollywood movies anymore they're such crap and a total RIP OFF.
OMG IM SO HAPPY THAT MARION COTILLARD WON!! SHES SO BEAUTIFUL AND LOOKS SO HEALTHY!! SHE DOES REPRESENT FRANCE VERY WELL
LA VIE EN ROSE IS AMAZING AND THE PART SHE DID EDITH PIAF IS INCREDIBLE!!! HERE IN FRANCE ITS ALL ABOUT MARION COTILLARD
U ROCK GAL!!!!
AU REVOIR !! ET VIVE LA FRANCE
Hollywood didn't have any token blacks to nominate so they went with the next best thing: FOREIGNERS. Any movie that makes America look bad, paints all white people as racist, or has a black hero character is guarunteed to win. Disgusting.
Re: elaine
Daniel D. Lewis is from Ireland. Didn't you watch the telecast? they even showed him when he won his first Oscar referring to going to have a big drunk fest in his hometown Dublin…Dublin is in Ireland idiot.
juno got pnwed.
Lindsay Lohan should have won for Best Performance by a crack HO who jumped the shark and doesn't know it.
Re: Who puts this shit out? –
and you claim the oscars are racist, using your comments?? get over it, talent wins not the hue of your skin you idiot!
Re: What About Zahara
Sorry about that…its 5 in the morning here and I'm getting ready for work and my head is spinning. I keep thinking Daniel is Irish because of the character he played in Gangs of New York with Leonardo Dicaprio and Cameron Diaz…
Re: What About Zahara? –
in fact, DDL is a British actor with British-Irish citizenship
ELLEN PAGE DIDN'T WIN????? MA GIRL DIDNT WIN???? DAMNNN!!!!!!!
ELLEN PAGE DIDN'T WIN????? MA GIRL DIDNT WIN???? DAMNNN!!!!!!!
ELLEN PAGE DIDN'T WIN????? MA GIRL DIDNT WIN???? DAMNNN!!!!!!!
ELLEN PAGE DIDN'T WIN????? MA GIRL DIDNT WIN???? DAMNNN!!!!!!!
ELLEN PAGE DIDN'T WIN????? MA GIRL DIDNT WIN???? DAMNNN!!!!!!!
Re: ambrosia
yes I know, I corrected myself DUUH! its because he always flips to an Irish or British accent to whenever he chooses so I got confused. But yeah I apologized and thats that…
yep…the french got to best actress for a leading role oscar….how does that sound????? so good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i love marion, you deserve it so much!!!!!
Diablo Cody YAY!
Et oui c'est une française qui a remporté l'oscar de le meilleure actrice…
elle le méritait car Marion était exceptionnelle dans le film la môme ou la vie en rose pour vous les américains.
Encore bravo Marion…
i desperately wanted daniel day-lewis to win! definitely the best actor alive. johnny depp, though, has really transformed and will win an oscar in the future. but this is daniel's year.
Daniel Day-Lewis…what an UGLY piece of shit
DDL is a good actor but no way does he compare to anything near Depp's abilites. He hasn't got the imagination that Depp has which intrigues the public so much. If you asked the public what role of DDL's was your favourite I guaruntee you they'd struggle to name a role by him.
Happy for Javier Bardem tho
Congratulations Marion! She's just wonderful and after all the things she did to become Edith Piaf in La Vie en Rose she just had to win this Oscar. Hre in France we're so proud of her!
I hope Johnny Depp is going to get an Oscar in his life.
marion cottillard is so pretty…
NOOOOO!!! johnny depp should've won… but at least tilda swinton won, shes great =]
Congrats to Marion Cotillard !
i wanted Atonement to win more. but its ok. anyways… whats up with the layout of the site.. is it just my computer?
i wish Johnny Depp woulda
:D
and Miley was soooooo un-needed, why was she even there??
Re: aussiebitch –
please tell me you live in australia… cause otherwise you must live in a cave or something.

I'm so happy for Marion Cotillard
)
She was BRILLIANT ! and "je vois la vie en rose"
but Johnny Depp should have won the oscar
(avec vanessa Paradis, quel couple magnifique !)
Johnny should have won!!! He sang come on!!! And Ellen Page should have won, she was awesome in Juno!
Jon Stewart was un-funny. It was like Dan Rather hosting the Oscars, yuck!
The Grammy's were boring..
I still cannot believe that Across The Universe was only nom. for costume. it should of been nom. for everything
i'm glad javier bardem won an oscar… totally deserved
"but i feel that perhaps Marion Cotillard was deserving but not as deserving as the others."
people who say things like that didn't watch "la vie en rose", for sure! you don't know what you're talking about! marion is the most amazing actress ever! and people who say ellen page should have win are wrong, they say that because ellen is cute and because they loved "juno", but ellen page was far less deserving than the 3 others!!
Fair play Glen Hansard+Marketa…totally deserved this one!Daniel Day Lewis did us proud once again!Éire go Brách
Can someone PLEASE keep Owen Wilson off the stage until his medications have been properly adjusted? It's no wonder he didn't want to do any red carpet interviews - he could barely read off the teleprompter yet alone get it together enough to form coherent sentences off the cuff … What was with all the squinting? Do psych meds mess with your eyesight?
OK WTF DOES FIRST MEAN? EVERYONE FREAKIN SAIS IT ITS A WASTE OF YOUR TIME TO WRITE IT AND ITS A WASTE OF MINE TO READ IT.
Still happy for the brilliant Marion Cotillard, Daniel Day Lewis, && Javier Bardem.
juno was vacuous. page's performance may have been good, but the project on the whole lacked a sense of emotional completeness. it had the same self-congratulatory air as garden state… another movie i detest. and for that, i'm not sure to blame the director or the writer. oh well.
Vive Marion Cotillard!
Viva Javiér Bardem!
And I just love Jon Stewart. He's so funny and so friggin' adorable. Loved the monologue.
HILLARY '08
all I have to say is shut up with the first people… no one cares who was first. I hate having to go through 50 firsts before I get to the goods. Take that how you want, hey through a donkey in there if you want to. Perez I love this sight. Cuz sometimes you make me hate you and that what I love, anyone I don't personally know and came make me hate them once in a while is good in my books. and Please rip into these first timers!! They are no fun
i think they were all well deserved, especially daniel day lewis and marrion cotlilliard, they did SO well in their movies, i don't think johnny would have win anyways, as much as everyone likes him, everyone is just pissed off because th ones they thought would win didnt, i think all of them deserved to win but i do think the diving bell should have gotten something
Cate blanchett WAS ROBBED AGAIN!
I'm so fuckin madddddddddddd
christ. Is the Academy so pissed at Bush that they will no longer give acting awards to U.S. Citizens? WTF?
Re: Outsource Oscar –
er… have you considered that it might just be that those foreign actors just happened to be better than the other ones?
the conspiration theory is just getting old
The academy members obviously think that foreign actors are "way rad" right now. And yes, I think it has something to do with anti-American sentiment among Americans. They just think Europeans are cooler. (but Daniel Day Lewis deserved his award) It's not fair, but it's a popularity contest so nothing anybody can do about it.
I CANT BELIEVE ELLEN PAGE DIDNT WIN. IM SO F-ING PISSED!
Eff the Oscars! Johnny should have won the award for best actor!!
Effin' morons…
Johnny was robbed!!
Johnny was robbed!!
Johnny was robbed!!
Johnny was robbed!!
Johnny was robbed!!
Johnny was robbed!!
who are half of these people and movies?
the awards shows suck now- a- days
Gutted about Atonement!!! and the golden compass won something??? that was the worst movie ever!!!! Why does nicole kidmans face not move…EVER???
Re: Nooks – IT WAS THE OSCARS DUMBASS
yey!!
Im very pleased that for a country that is literally this size we managed to scoop oscar wins!! (daniel day lewis and Falling Slowly" from "Once). Hopefully it happens again!!:D
love it!!!
Re: Brittany – yeah!! i totally agree with U
