Jennifer Aniston puts her eggs on ice
Angelina Jolie may have secured the headlines over the weekend by finally revealing her much buzzed about baby bump, but Brad Pitt’s former ladylove, Jennifer Aniston, quietly made preparations for her own brood. The 39-year-old isn’t pregnant yet, but Star reports she’s put her eggs on ice until Mr. Right comes along.
“It was a really smart move, because it buys (Jen) a few years to figure it all out,” an insider told the magazine. “The pressure has lifted.”
The insider claims Jennifer could postpone having her first baby until she turns 45, and with ample resources and plenty of stamina, the actress isn’t worried about the wait. “She has loads of energy. And she’s so rich that she could just hire five nannies!”
Before making the decision to freeze her eggs, Jennifer considered other options, according to another Star source. “Her friend Sheryl Crow turned her on to the idea of adopting, but in her heart Jen would like to have her own child. She just needs the right man — someone she can trust.”
Jennifer’s rep told Star the story was untrue, but the source countered, insisting Jen would use the frozen eggs if she had any trouble conceiving naturally.
“(Jen’s) absolutely doing the right thing. She’s giving herself a big break from the intense pressure to find Mr. Right and have kids. She’s in a good place now.”
Good for her. Atleast she will wait til she has a stable relationship before having and adopting 16 kids! Duh? Try some blood around your neck again, freeeeeak!

You can absolutely freeze eggs. The pioneer and leader in this field is Extend Fertility - they have almost 100 babies born from their technique in Europe and the US. They are affiliated with top fertility clinics in the US. About 85% of eggs survive freezing - so you are basically able to rescue your fertility as it exists at the age you freeze. Good for Jen for taking control of her fertility!

People you can ABSOLUTELY freeze eggs unfertilized. There have been hundreds and hundreds of babies born to UNFERTILIZED eggs in the last few years thousands of women have opted to freeze their eggs. Just Google egg freezing. Several of my friends have frozen their eggs in Manhattan and Beverly Hills.

Jennifer did one magazine article and went on Oprah once or twice. She did not bad mouth Pitt or Jolie (hell, I would have!) She's living her life, not in the public's eye at every turn. What the hell do you want from this girl??
I hope she has chosen a father for the kids before harvesting her eggs. You can't ice your eggs without sperm. That technology isn't available yet. Besides it's highly likely her eggs are too old and have chromosone damage already.
I went to have my "eggs" frozen and was told that they need to be fertilized in order to freeze anything. So i think this story is wrong or completely untrue. You can freeze embroyos. Trust me if i could have just frozen my eggs i would have since I am in ovarian failure at 26. Also…any woman who goes thru this kind of treatment to freeze embroyos knows how painful and emotional this experience is. i am sorry but if she did this i highly doubt she would be so careless to let anyone find out. I only now talk about this since i am 12 weeks pregnant with twins. Retrieval of a woman's eggs requires many many injections and even after retrieval you have more injections if you have them transferred in right away. It also require surgical procedure to remove them…you are not a wake while they do this.
You can indeed freeze your eggs w/o being fertilized. My good friend had Hodgkins Disease (cancer) when she was only 20 yrs old. They needed to to remove her spleen and use a combination of chemotherapy and radiation. The physician suggested to her that they freeze her eggs for the future if she wanted children. I thought at the time that was a considerate gesture. Her cancer had spread after they operated on her, so it was a good thing. I think this might be standard procedure if the woman is that young, but she did go on to have a kid. So yes it is absolutely true in this instance and I am sure others.
