these celebrity nut jobs are so full of themselves, they'll probably continue to broadcast this crap it even if the ratings go to ZERO, which is where they're headed. This is the YOUTUBE generation. Stand up and be counted folks. Hollywood celebs don't give a damn about anyone but themselves.

The novelty of celebrities is starting to wear off. People are becoming less interested. Not to mention, the current celebrities are messing up their public lives and people are having negative opinions of them. It's hard to take them seriously anymore. We are just beginning to not care anymore.

because it's 4-5 hours of people, some of who I never heard of, giving each other oral blow jobs. Where it is more important of what designer you wear, than who won. I just read the winners the next day. And it is a reason for hollywood to give parties. Like Elton John, where most of the people there were not at the oscars. Or Swag, time for the leeches who aren't even invited to the awards, again to come out for freebies. The respect the Ceremony once had is gone for many.

The show was pretty decent considering the material they had to work with (those numbers from Enchanted? Hello, Disney owns ABC). Halle Berry and Dame Judi were hysterical; so were Josh Brolin and the Scottish actor from Atonement. I was perturbed that Rob Thomas' "Little Wonders" from Meet the Robinsons was not nominated. Aslo ticked off about Brad Renfro…

Without Billy Crystal (or our departed favorite Johnny Carson) the Oscars are totally boring. Jon Stewart is NOT funny at all and his monologues just make you yawn. Who picked him??

    Dear Fug,

Man your an idiot. Who cares, WHO CARES, WHO CARES!? I honestly can't believe you get this kind of fame for being a pathetic gossip mongrel your far worse then any of these idiots you cover because without them you would be less then nothing, just another ugly fat kid trying to get laid. Your taste in music is HORRIBLE your taste in fashion is FAR worse then horrible and your over all physical shape is horrendous. You should just close down this site, buy yourself a gym membership and retreat to a place where no one will ever see or hear from you again, at least that way you would finally make a positive influence on society.

    Sincerely,

Then you sit there and just watch them win awards for a lot of shitty movies and things. No thanks… it's a major snoozefest!

    118

2008 Oscars was disappointing! If not for Johnny Depp, George Clooney & Jack Nicholson, in the audience, I wouldn't of watched it.
I Love the Oscars but this time around, there were no big stars other than the above ones, so it seemed lame.
Maybe the writer's stike threw things into a last minute, throw something together, type of night?
    Oh…well….better luck next year!
P.S. I'm waiting for the year, Johnny Depp finally gets his Oscar, he Deserves!

This show is stupid its only for old people that go. lame i never watch it. BOrrrrrrrrringgggggggggggggggggggggg….. They should add young fun singers and winners

  27. What About Zahara? says – reply to this

    127

IMO, the Oscars are a joke now because even though I'm only 20 years old, the Oscars were a big deal growing up because you actually had talented people sitting in the audience, not to mention the hosts like Billy Crystal and Whoopi Goldberg were marvelous. I remember the years when you had hollywood heavyweights that would show up even though they weren't nominated and that's what it all about. A celebration amongst actors celebrating their craft. I remember when you would see Tom Cruise, Mel Gibson, William H. Macy, Michael Douglas, Sophia Loren, Meryl Streep, Sharon Stone, Sally Field, Helen Hunt, Donald and Kiefer Sutherland, Jon Voight, Elton John, Leonardo Dicaprio, Will Smith, Robin Williams amongst others sitting in the audience and you would really feel proud. Now you have losers like Jon Stewart hosting the Oscars, Jessica Alba gets her little 2 second screen time, 2 fat idiots arguing about whos Halle Berry, a montage dedicated to binoculars and a bunch of nobodies in the audience like Jennifer Garner. The real heavyweights like Oscar nominees and winners didn't even bother to show up when years ago people like Elizabeth Taylor would be sitting there amongst her peers. The Oscars are a joke, its like you want to be an actor? join a reality show and work your way from there…

  28. Andy says – reply to this

    128

GOOD!!! that's what they get for the horrible job at nominating, especially for keeping SHAKIRA's "Despedida" or "Hay Amores" from Love in the time of cholera out of the best song category ……

  29. Mandy says – reply to this

    129

I usually watch the last hour-hour and a half so to me it was a good show. I saw all of the nominated films in the major categories, and I think the selection this year was pretty arty. It wasn't as corny as usual which is fine with me. And No Country for Old Men is a really, really good movie. Most of the nominees were really deserving. Too bad Depp didn't win. I think he's fated for the dreaded lifetime achievement=you're old oscar. Day-Lewis is such a scenery chewer- sometimes he's unintentionally funny.

It probably had a lot to do with lack of build up. there wasn't that much advertising since there was the writer's strike up til the last minute

OMG-everyones comments are frickin' hilarious, and spot on! I watched the sad show. Ummm, what is UP with Renee Zelwegger? I am sure Kenny Chesney is glad they got their marriage annulled. She looked terrible with her hulking shoulders and ugly hair cut. Amy Adams=PUKE. Tilda Swinton-was she in her costume from Narnia? Frickin' Scary-AS-Hell.

  39. BORING says – reply to this

    139

They were pretty boring this year. Jon Stewart was a little funny, but he should have done more material on the movies and stars instead of so much politics. It was boring because who knew any of the winners?? The acceptance speeches were boring. I think I am just burnt out on awards shows - there are too many and really they are just actors, directors, etc. - none of them have cured cancer, although they take themselves so seriously you'd think they had. I think this is why some of them try to promote so many causes, because they know how insignifcant and shallow their lives really are. Of course, some of them turn to drugs and other addictions to deal with it and then there are the really pompous and shallow ones who really believe they are special.

  43. Paulie says – reply to this

    143

They lost me at the intro…. Using CGI for all those scenes/characters from movies over the last 80 years??? It should have been a movie clip montage! Not only that but it should have at least been movies that were OSCAR WORTHY… how dare they include scenes/characters from Transformers, Terminator, Die Hard and a bunch of other irrelevant movies? And the presenters? Not all of them were B-listers, but they should start to consider using ONLY previous Oscar nominees or winners as presenters… makes it much cooler… Gil Cates wake up! I wonder if he just dialed in his production or actually WORKED on this, or called in sick yesterday. Because if he did work on this he needs to retire. Time for new blood. Only seeing the FABULOUS Helen Mirren made we go WOW! Other than that I was BORED out of my mind!

  44. Emi says – reply to this

    144

Maybe it's because they were completely INACCESSIBLE from all the other parts of the world! They only showed the Oscars on private channels, atleast in France and the UK… and the plug in on the Oscars website couldn't be downloaded from abroad either… THEY'RE DISGUSTINGLY GREEDY! It's become purely business now…

  45. IMPORTANT PERSON says – reply to this

    145

Hmmm….well we are here so we do read about celebrities! But the whole celebrity worshipping thing makes me want to vomit! I crack up at celbrities and how they walk, talk, hide their faces as if they are someone above everyone else! I enjoy artists like movie stars, musicians, etc… but they are people just like the rest of us! I think they make WAY too much money as do professional athletes - it's sickening! So, the whole strike thing bugged me…they make money….lots of it…when a salesperson sells a product (phone, radio, shirt, book, etc)….do any of them get paid each time that product is used? NO!!! Writers want to get used each time their work is used and they cried like babies and put everyone else out because they are greedy and wanted more! So, they complained because they weren't bringing in income during their strike…and the move stars supported them…I didn't understand this…if you are struggling financially….then wouldn't they have really gone back to work and forget about the strike?

HOLLYWOOD MAKES TOO MUCH MONEY AND EVERYONE NEEDS TO STOP WORSHIPPING THE GROUND THEY ALL WALK ONE - IT'S PRETTY GROSS!

Jon Stewart who sometimes entertains spent the evening entertaining himself, Amy Adams should have sung the Disney Song instead of Kristin whoever. WAY, WAY to many foreign movie awards. Jacks always up front in his really cool Raybans who really cares. Juno should have won more.

jon stewart was the only bearable part of the show - in fact he was really good. he was wittier than ellen. the only funny thing she does is act like a spaz. i think the average person is getting really sick of hollywood. i went to hollywood over the summer. you have to remember that across the street from the kodak theater is a blinged out mcdonald's. it's definitely not that glamorous, and quite frankly most of us are perfectly content with our quality of life that we don't yearn for the transient glamor of hollywood. i also hate the pompous self-congratulatory nature of the show. it's nauseating.

  68. Kelly says – reply to this

    168

Maybe because the nominees sucked. Sorry, I am all for multiculturalism, but I didn't know 75% of the nominees. It's no fun to watch someone you don't know win an award. Also, I am so sick of the overly violent and dramatic movies. There Will Be Blood…No Country For Old Men… Sorry, but a movie doesn't have to be that intense to be a good movie. The Sound of Music is a classic and there was no blood and gore. We need to have some HAPPIER movies!! Seriously!!

muhahahahaha my plan of total absolute evilness is working.

The Internet is killing the life blood of celebrities!!

    To my Anonymous warriors,
You have done well. I am proud of your loyalty to our ultimate goal. Keep seeding those torrents. We shall soon take down Mr. Cruise and his brainwashed army of Scientologists.

Next year's goal is a 23% reduction in viewership over this year.

By providing our own entertainment avenues we may increase the availability of alternative content to such a staggering level that popular culture will continue to become segmented.

Also, a spring goal for all younger members of Anonymous:
GO DRINK IN A PUBLIC PARK with some of your local Anonymous comrades. Officer Brady needs a work out, the Krispy Kremes and lack of trouble in your neighbourhood is getting him out of shape.

    Good work, I am proud.
