ok. Think Hall and Oates,Boston, REO speedwagon, all of these huge bands that are forever in music history. They certainly aren't the best looking, but who cares? Buzz 25 years ahead, and we have Rhianna (who I do like to dance to), Britney Spears, and a bunch of other crap music that solely survives on image. Rhianna is an image, and that is just the way that music is today, and has been for many years. If we didn't know what she looked like, would we like her as much based on talent?

Anyway, nothing new…as always folks that can't hit a note tend to get the record deals. It's been going on forever…they look for pretty faces so that ppl will be distracted and not listen to their voices! Look at Madonna, Britney, Rihanna, Cyndy Lauper, Janet Jackson, debbie Gibson, etc. None of them could hold a note, vocally to real singers like Whitney(used to be), mariah(used to be), Aretha, Patti, Amy, Beyonce, Adele,Christina, etc. Im sorry but i can't see how peolpe would even be blown away to hear women like Rihanna hum on the microphone!

#1- Riri is beautiful (faishon icon) & Bey is beautiful (house of derrion-sucks) also, two totally different women w/ diff. styles, voices, etc. but both are good in their own way. Back to the topic @ hand, I love Riri but that was awful, not a very good song choice for her vocal ranges. Riri is a great pop singer which doesn't require that soul that "Hero" obviously needed, but that is good that we are able to get a wide variety of diff. vocal talents & Riri is poppy, edgey & Bey is poppy, soulful at times. All I can say is that Riri better be glad that sex & catchy tunes sell.
In my opinion, Mariah SCREAMS her songs and deosn't sing them. Not a fan. So the comparison is null and void for me.
