and pray tell Perez, what experience have you had of pregnancy that you can cast stones? An occasional wine in perfectly fine when you're pregnant, go ask any OB outside of the US where they are not so scared as to actually say it sometimes good - if it can destress and relax you and not abused, its beneficial. US doctors are terrified of being sued so are OTT about saying you can't drink. Get a life!

Wine, even one glass, is NOT good for pregnancy. Even tiny glass once in a while can be harmful. Having said that, when my friend was pregnant with her son, she didn't know for the first 3 months so she went out getting trashed as normal, then spent the next 6 months terrified that her baby would have something wrong with it. He seems to have turned out fine but only time will tell….

I would never drink while pregnant, but I know an occasional drink isn't harmful at all. In Austria, a woman I knew drank a beer a couplt of time during her pregnancy. Her midwife okayed it.
The policy is strictly NO drinking while pregnant because if you say an occasional drink is okay it would probably get abused. So better safe than sorry. I know I would never do it.

one glass of wine doesn't hurt. my aunt was pregnant and she used to have a half glass of wine a week. it is a tradition in her family (english) it helps sooth the mothers nerves and has no effect on the baby whatsoever. I now have two cousins and she did it with both of them and they are perfectly fine. everyone just wants a reason for drama anytime celebrities do something that is a lil sketch or whatnot..y'all just need to calm your asses and have a glass of wine
a glass of wine once or twice during pregnancy and after the first trimester is perfectly fine. It is drinking on a regular basis that is a no no. Even a doctor will tell you a glass or two of wine throughout your entire pregnancy is ok. Some even tell you to have a glass of wine after undergoing an amniocentesis to calm the uterine muscles. I am sure Nicole isn't boozing it up every night. This is probably the first glass she has had since finding out she was pregnant. When will people learn to stay out of others business.

I agree and I am an American. A glass of wine sometimes is ok. For god's sake I had a friend who suffered for weeks with cough and cold while she was pregnant because she would not take any daytime cold medicine. I am sure the baby loved acking and coughing all day/night. We would have a nation of retards if everything people normally take when they are prgnant is bad.
I've been pregnant twice, had two kids. I heard all the stuff about a glass of wine once in a while is fine for cramps, blah blah. There are plenty of other things a pregnant woman can do for cramps, especially a celeb! Why in the world would any pregnant woman take a chance by drinking during pregnancy?!?!? In my own OBGYN practice, there were doctors who disagreed on this, so drinking during pregnancy IS NOT universally accepted (I'm American, btw). There's no reason to chance miscarriage, birth defects or learning disabilities…I hope Cindy's wrong on this one…but she's usually right.

NO, A LITTLE WINE IS NOT OKAY!!!!! When you drink wine, it goes directly through the placenta and the fetus is literally swimming in the alcohol! As the fetus can not metabolize the alcohol, it is present in the fetus for much longer then it is in the mother. Whatever is being developed at that time (and there is always something developing during the 40 wks) will be impacted.

There is no proof as to how much alchohol is needed to be consumed before your baby miscarries or ends up with Fetal Alchohol Syndrome, so experts say you shouldn't have any at all. Even the occassional glass of wine or beer can lead to FAE and premature birth, especially forr women who have a low BMI or simply get a buzz easily. Therefore, she is an idiot.
A single glass of wine isn't "boozing" and is not damaging to a fetus.

I have been through 2 full term pregnancies and 2 miscarriges. I had a small glass on specail occasions as i mentioned earlier. Everyone has differant theories and opinions and this is a very controversial subject where no one is going to agree. People will make thier own choices regardless of the facts. Re: Brittany – Miscarriages are rarely caused by external factors and usually occur in the first trimester or second due to genetic problem with the embryo/fetus. In other words, if you miscarry it is probably a good thing because something would have been wrong with the baby.
Get your facts straight, Perez. If there's no complications in your pregnancy, it's ok to have a glass of wine OCCASIONALLY.
