Britain's Prince Harry has been fighting the Taliban in Afghanistan since late December '07!
The rebel prince, who is third in line for the throne, has been directly involved in battle and is taking part in some new offensives targeting the Taliban.
Apparently, Australian magazine New Idea and the German daily Bild have broken world embargoes on the development.
We figure most media outlets were probs reluctant to report this because of safety concerns for the Prince.
Harry has been called "magnificent soldier" and an "inspiration to all of Briton."
He's got cojones!
Update: Chief of the General Staff Sir Richard Dannatt, who is head of the British Army, said he was disappointed the news had leaked.
In a statement, he said: “I am very disappointed that foreign websites have decided to run this story without consulting us."

Sorry Angie, he's still ONE man, a human being who has a title, so does my boss. The war is not going to change because he's in it and he'll be a better man for it because it will ground him in reality. Hopefully he will learn that he has fears just like everyone else, he can die just like everyone else and then when he does come into the throne these lessons will then perhaps be remembered and the mistakes of history not repeated by people with titles who make decisions about going to war in the first place.

It's actually more dangerous for the people around him than it is for Prince Harry because if someone wanted to harm Harry they would have to kill a lot more people to get to him than the average soldier. So really, Prince harry is putting his fellow soldiers in danger just by being there.

I don't need to check my hierarchy at all. An officer, even just out of Sandhurst, is in charge of a regiment. He makes decisions which directly affect the lives of the people in that regiment, and can put them in danger. He is supported by people who are not trained as officers, who have probably had much more experience than he has, but who still rank below him. He will take into consideration what they say when he makes his decisions. So, yes, he is in command of his regiment. Very simple, really.
Being British, yes, I am aware that Harry is a Prince, but I also point out that it would be beneficial to no one to put someone in a direct line of fire and then protect them. The military would simply not allow this. Our military is second to none, and there is no way someone would be allowed to "play soliders" no matter who they were.
And just for one tiny moment to play with your foolish idea that this may be what happens… just how do you think people would protect him? I have friends who've just finished Sandhurst in active duty in Afganistan, and they're constantly being shelled. It really does just depend on your location… there is nothing anyone can do to "stop anything happening".
To conclude, I shall reiterate my point - the press leak put a lot of people in unecessary danger by making them a target for no reason other than greed, and fame hunger.

there was a MASSIVE media cover up in the UK about this, with all the newspaper and TV editors signing an agreement not to cover it. and there's loads of arguing going on about it now its out. i personally think he shouldnt have been sent for the safety of his fellow soldiers, regardless of what his "dreams" are. but he's there now, and the less that's reported on it the better!
