You people are morons. If you're going to eat pork, then face facts and stop deluding yourselves. Mother pigs are confined in tiny spaces in which they cannot move or engage in ANY natural behaviors because it's cheaper for the industrial factory farmers, NOT because it protects the piglets from being squished. That is utterly ridiculous. And even if you don't care that the animals - which are feeding your faces - are treated with cruel and inhumane contempt rather than even a speck of respect, consider this: industrial factory farming, thanks in part to the ENORMOUS and concentrated amounts of waste and feces, is causing an environmental catastrophe. The waste breaks down into, among other things, methane and ammonia and contributes to global warming and pollutes ecosystems and kills fish and wildlife.
Also, workers in industrial farming are treated like garbage along with the animals.
The fact that so many of you don't seem to know this is sad - but I'm sure the corporations are more than thrilled to know that the great consuming public is fat, happy, and ignorant.

This really could've been presented better, Perez. One MAJOR POINT of the demonstration is that she is pregnant! As a woman, I am NOT offended in the least (though I am often perplexed by PETA's shenanigans). I think it's important to give a real face to the animals that are being mistreated. It has an impact! I mean, YOU covered it. So it must have made an impact!

okay, im a vet student & we just learned all about the swine industry. keeping pigs in enclosures like that is NOT cruel. In actuality if they are left in bigger enclosures with multiple pigs they will bite each others tails & fight over articificial feeding nipples at feeding time. Also, the size of those enclosures is meant to be the right size so that they can move around but not totally twirl around & freak themselves out. & if they have piglets with them, the pens are a big bigger but not huge…so that if the mother is going to lay down, the piglets have some room to move out of the way so they dont get squished & die.
some of the stuff peta does is good…but they are extremists…animals are NEEDED in our lives, be it for companionship, food, herding etc. Peta stages a lot of their "legit" animal abuse videos as well, fyi.
#1- smart people would understand the statement being made here.
#2- animals are not made of "meat". they are made of flesh, bones and blood-just like we are.
#3- PETA tries to make intentionally oblivious morons think about facts that you choose to ignore.
