Pregnant woman uses train toilet, baby slips out
A newborn baby girl survived an ignoble birth after slipping down the toilet bowl of a moving Indian train onto the tracks when a pregnant woman unexpectedly gave birth while relieving herself on Tuesday.
"My delivery was so sudden," said the Bhuri Kalbi, the mother of the infant, born two months prematurely. "I did not even realize that my child had slipped from the hole in the toilet."
Kalbi, a 33-year-old woman from a village in Rajasthan, fainted on the toilet seat after the birth for a few minutes before waking up and alerting her family.
"They stopped the train and ran on the tracks to find the baby," she said, speaking from her hospital bed in the western city of Ahmedabad.
Railway staff at a nearby station were alerted and soon found the newborn girl lying uninjured on pebbles by the track. She is now in intensive care because of her premature birth, doctors said.
Most toilets on Indian trains are filthy chutes emptying directly onto the tracks.

i love how many comments say 'First!'
when they aren't even close.
and jesus christ.
while reading this i made this face:
:S accompinied with a "WHAAAT?"
thanks god that baby is in good condition congats for the mother and god bless them.
My nephew was 3lbs and my niece was 2, they're so tiny when they're premature. I could see how she didn't feel it come out… Most people don't realize how little they are when they come out prematurely, they pretty much fit in one hand. And labor is different for everyone some people just are lucky while most aren't. She's a lucky little girl to have lived that, but she's not out of the clear yet. Considering that babies that are born prematurely can develop problems later in life.
Re: evelyn –
It's not a black baby.
Re: Lee –
Butt babies?? What are u talking about??
Re: belgradar –
I think you know that your statement is ridiculous.
Re: Erin –
Really? Only in India huh?? That statement makes absolutely no sense whatsoever… Only in America do we have ppl like yourself who make such ignorant remarks.
Re: eddy –
Well it IS a third world country… Not at all a "rich" country like the US… Americans seem to live in a freakin bubble or something.
Dude this HAS to be fake are you serious and uninjured?
Re: HARMONY – the umbilical cord will snap and break, especially on a premie, they are very small and thin…bathroom babies are not uncommon, preterm labor can feel like stomach cramps and when the mom goes to take a "dump", out comes baby for a water bath…
What a third world country. Human waste flows through the streets and the people breed like rats. Once less Indian would'nt have been the worst thing to happen. It will probabably breed another 100 in that cess pool
wat about the umbilical cord and shit like that?
its immposible… i think
oh well at least the baby is ok
this is the most fucking distubring thing i have ever seen in my life.
this is a life people. fuckk u guys are dumb. how did the baby get unattached.
think about it for a second.. she probably flushed the little baby down the toliet cause it was ugly and then regretted it.
The umbilical cord is attached to the placenta which generally remains inside the mother's uterus and is delivered after the baby is born. This story is possible if the placenta was delivered at the same time as the baby - meaning the umbilical cord was still attached between the baby and the placenta, outside of the mother, after deliver.
This is real news about a real life and does not belong on your site
mmmkkayy for you out there who actually believe thats true are just IDIOTS. You dont have to be a gynecologists to know its humanly impossible to pass a baby without being aware, and also ummm there is such a thing as an umbilical cord now-a-days. Come on..use common sense people…BUT –even though this story is false..i still absolutely EFFIN LOVE PEREZ !!
Re: Alyss – Hay uh watz wit all deze ppl tryin to be FIRSTT……i dont GET IT?!?!?!?!?!
The cord is attached to the placenta, if it separated from the uterus wall (probably the reason for the early delivery) it would have been delivered with the baby. The cord does not need to be cut right away, in fact the baby loses some blood when the cord is cut soon after delivery. As far as the mother not knowing the was in labor, well if it was a sudden delivery (lets say incompetent cervix, or the placenta pulling away from the wall) she may not have had contractions like a normal birthing woman. For some who wonder why she had the need to use the restroom when she delivered, well that is normal. Many birthing women have this sudden need to go to the bathroom when they are ready to push. That is why when you deliver in the hospital the nursing staff says no you may not go to the toilet until they check you.
omg that is so freaking crazii at least the baby is all right
OH MY GOD THIS BABY IS A MIRICAL KID. GOD SAVED HERE
wow -thats gross and crazy all at the same time! …but i agree with sara alexis, what about the umbilical cord? is that even possible.. ha
Re: sara alexis –
thats true..i wonder what happened with the umbilical cord????
That story is unbeleiveable. Really I dont beleive it. I think that woman didnt want that baby, and tried to say it was an "accident", not knowing the baby would survive.
I HAVE TROUBLE BELIEVING THIS STORY BECAUSE OF THE UMBIILICAL CORD. I HAVE SEEN MANY BIRTHS AND THE CORD IS ALWAYS CUT. HOW WAS THIS ONE NOT CUT? WHY WASN'T THE MOM SUCKED OUT TOO? GIVE ME A BREAK. THIS BELONGS ON FARK.COM.
this story is so untrue. the cord would not just snap and nor would the placenta come out immediatly with the baby! the poor little newborn would have been dragged attatched to the mother under the train
thank goodness the baby is alright@@@
First even the AMERICAN trains empty their poop onto the tracks….it is not just a third world country thing…and you are correct SA….the placenta comes about 10 to 30 minutes after the birth of a baby this story is probably fake or there is foul play involved.
gross, Indians are sick people
what is the baby name
as if … CUTTING THE CORD !!! thats so not tru i dont belive it
….silly people, you dont shit babies….
That's crazy! How do you not notice if your giving birth though. Kinda sketchy… Poor kid.
I can't even believe that everyone's piss and shit is hitting the tracks! That is so filthy! See if I ever visit India.
OMG- yuck but at least the baby is fine. It reminds me of that scene and line in "Knocked Up" when the Leslie Mann character tells her sister (Kathryn Heigl's character) "You're gonna be one of those women who figures out she's pregnant when she sits on the toilet and a kid pops out." LOL!
How scary. And those of you who are commenting about this mother and saying it was "obvious she was trying to get rid of the baby" need to fucking stand back and stop being so judgemental…not EVERYTHING and everyone in this world is horrible and with bad intentions
Also…it is completely possible. I don't think most of you have actually given birth. You don't turn into a monster and start throwing things at your husband- that's just how it happens on tv. Some women go into labor very suddenly, especially when it is your second, third, etc. child- you can walk around almost completely dialated your whole pregnancy and not give birth- then BAM. And it is likely that this wasn't the woman's first child.
no, they're talking about unfitney spears.
you guys are idiots, the umbilical cord is attached to the placenta which comes detached from the mother.
how does that work?
it's a premature baby. so it's smaller than a full-term baby (so it hurts less) and there also something going wrong with the pregnancy in the first place or it wouldn't be premature. so all those dumb moms here saying it hurts like hell and that she would have noticed should think about the fact that it's NOT a normal delivery.
oh, and trains all over the world dump the shit directly onto the tracks, that's not a third world issue at all.
and the baby is "ugly" because it's underweight compared to full-term babies and doesn't have the attractive padding which develops in the last two months of pregnancy.
"#88 - Kay"
I love your gung ho attitude about crushing the ingorance, but India is not in the middle east dear. Google maps is a wonderful educational tool.
It's cruel to have this story and picture called "Headline of the Weak". It is a human being born from a poor woman with difficult circumstances in life. To ridicule the poor child and the mother, is just mean, heartless and inhuman.
That momma must have one CAVERNOUS vagina to be able to give birth to a seven month gestation baby and not even realize it.
To all you people saying "if a baby's premature you can't feel it"- whatever! I had a miscarriage when I was twelve weeks pregnant and it hurt like Hell!!! If this woman can give birth and not even notice it that's probably a pretty good sign that she already has enough kids.
What??? That's impossible….
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That doesn't seem possible because of the umbilical cord and placenta???? Thank god the baby is o.k.
Yeah, what about the umbilical cord :S:S:S
There is NO WAY the baby got loose… NO WAY!
Sounds fabricated to me…
Um, folks, when I was in labor with my (full-term) son, the urge to push felt like the urge to, well, poop, like being really constipated and having to go. So I can easily see how if you missed the fact that you were having contractions (some just feel like stomach cramps) or even if you knew what they were, it's still perfectly normal in labor to need to go to the toilet, this could happen with a tiny 3-lb. baby, which would come out much more easily than a full-term baby. If you've never had a baby, you wouldn't know this, tho. Also, the cord is attached to the placenta, which comes out right after the baby (right away or within a few minutes). The placenta at this point is no longer attached in ANY way to the mother — so babies are truly not connected to mama within a matter of either seconds or minutes, depending on when the placenta detaches. Gross, I know, but then childbirth is pretty messy.
The baby is not hooked to the mother by the umbilical cord, it is hooked to the placenta. Obviously the placenta came out with the baby.
How do you not feel something of such bulk coming out of your vagina??????
That is absolutely horrible. Thank god the baby is okay…=S
Honestly when you're pushing out a baby, it feels like you're pooping (a scary, scary poop, but poop), not as if something is coming out of your vagina. The baby's head presses on a nerve that numbs the vagina (not that it doesn't hurt like a mother to push out the baby, but not there specifically). In fact, when some doctors give women a shot in that region just prior to delivering the baby, they're actually doing this for sewing up tears after birth; it takes 10-15 minutes for the painkiller to kick in. The pressure and intense pain is kind of an all-over thing in that region of the body when the time comes.
That sounds like a lie, yeah umbilical cord, duh!? What did the toilet cut it for her? Come on! She totally dumped her baby. There's no other way!
Ewww, I said "dumped" unintentionally that is really gross! Must've been painful for her and really disgusting for the baby. Good thing he won't remember all this or be forever afraid of trains and his own shit!
that's insane.
Her shit must have been that huge, that even the placenta fell out!
Re: sara alexis – yeah what happened to the umbilical cord? there's no way that it could have just ripped apart allowing the baby to fall on the tracks.
if the baby is ready to be born, the umbilical cord will creak off naturally. i know that was weird to me too, but then i looked it up:]
Wow! That's all I can say… I've had 3 kids and well, this baby must have been really small!!!!
Re: sara alexis – The umbilical cord is attached to the placenta which also leaves the woman's body, also known as the afterbirth.
WTF!!! what happened to the umbilical cord???????
this news somehow makes me smile….
Re: FIDEL CASTRO – Hahahaha that's hillarious. Good one!
The story says she fainted briefly. Maybe that's when the afterbirth came out? But you'd think surely with the moving train the cord must have been seperated out of the hole or something.
i'd love to know how she delivered the placenta and what on earth she did with th umbilical cord, that bub is exremly lucky to be alive.
Exactly!! What about the umbilical cord?? Soo doesn't make sense!! If the baby went out of the train, the mother chould of went with it.. unless all her insides went too. Perez you have interesting stuff, but most of it is bull.
wtf dont believe it like the other girl said how about the umbilical cord thats a lie
