Jennifer Lopez is taking the mom thing very, very seriously.
People around La Lopez think she might be taking things a bit too far…except of course, Marc Anthony, who supposedly agrees with everything she wants.
J. Lo is diva about ever-y-thing!
According to inside reports, the couple has hired SIX new bodyguards for the twins. They have two baby bouncers for each eight-hour shift around the clock.
Cost? Approximately $600,000, not including the cost of benefits.
They've also invested in closed-circuit cameras for almost every room in their many homes.
Also, peeps with grubby hands better stay far away from JLo's babies! According to a family source, she's become a germaphobe. There are dispensers of hygienic cleanser strategically placed all around her homes. People are instructed to basically scrub before they come close to her precious ones. And, we kid you not, there was a purchase of what's being called 'a lifetime supply' of surgical masks because anyone coming in contact with the twins must put one of the things on.

Babies have underdeveloped immune systems for the first 6 weeks after birth so she's not a crazy deva, she's just smart and responsible. Good for her!
OK, I would have said that she was crazy two years ago, but I have a 12 month old daughter, and not only do they tell you in EVERTHING you read how they can get so sick so easily, her first pediatrician visit reinforced it by telling us to stay in at all costs in the first 4 weeks at least, preferrably the first 6–and then went down the path of saying if she got a high fever from an infection at this age they would have to put needles in her back…….etc…….and she was a healthy 9 lb. baby girl!! I would have done ALL those things if I had the funding and need, but I did make sure there was sanatizer everywhere we looked in the house, and copious amounts in the diaper bag……AND, if you were sick, you did not have to wear a mask—you had to stay away completely!! I calmed down, but I think it is a pretty normal reaction for a first time mom

Guys, let me remind you… J. Lo comes from nothing, grew up with NO MONEY and should know better than to be so stupid. Remember she's "Jenny from the block?" If I had all that money, I'd definitely spend a lot on my kids, but they'll be exposed to germs at school and in the world, so…unless the twins have some immune disease, she should just chill.

I don't normally comment, but can't we give her a break? She is not being a diva, she is being a mom, a new one at that. Most, if not all, moms go through such a phase. Especially if they had difficulties during pregnancy, had a hard time being pregnant, or her baby was born early (and this is usually the case for twins). We do not know if she had a high-risk pregnancy, we do not know the situation at her home, so why accuse her of being a B*tch, diva, or making her kids more special than they are. Well, they might not be special to you or I, but they are to HER. So of course she is going to take every precaution possible to keep them safe and healthy. It is FLU and RSV season and they are NEWBORNS. Once they are older, I am sure she will lighten up a bit as many moms do.
Right now, she should be overprotective of them as they are barely a month old. Not all babies and situations are the same, so we shouldn't berate her for trying her best simply because she is a celebrity.
um, that doens't sound so off the mark to me.. most first time parents are little bit more overprotective until they fall into the groove of things, it's her money and her motha f*in babies. if that is how she chooses to parent, that is her perogative. folks want to hate on britney for not takin care of her kids, and then hate on JLo for trying to be a good parent. be consistant!
The surgical masks are a little over the top, but you are supposed to scrub up before touching a newborn baby. That's just common sense. Good for her.

unfortunately she is actually harming her children by being so obsessed with germs. she's not allowing her children to be exposed to the things they need to be to build up antibodies and a healthy immune system. they can't live in a uber clean steralized world forever…unless she wants to invest in some neat plastic bubbles for them to live in.

Because then their bodies don't build the necessary immunity to common air-borne germs. So once they step out into the real world, they're at high risk of get very sick. I mean, you can't keep them in a bubble all their lives. i think celebrities get too caught up in their "celebrity" that they forget they're just normal people who must live in the REAL WORLD at the end of the day. I'm just sayin.

I think most first time moms go overboard with the germaphobe thing for a few weeks after their babies are born. I know I did! Not to this extent, but yeah, you definitely want people to wash their hands before they touch the baby. The flu is rampant right now all over the country, and if a young baby got it, it could be fatal. So I don't think she's gone crazy. I think she's just being very cautious. Give her a few months, and she'll settle down.
People, you obviously know NOTHING about newborn babies if you're thinking she's being crazy. Yes, your kids have to build up their immune system as they grow up, but when they're only a few days old, you definitely do not want them getting exposed to any germs! Even something as minor as a cold can send a newborn baby right to the hospital. There's a big difference between a 2 year old getting a cold and a 10 day old baby getting one. And if a brand new baby got exposed to something worse, like the flu, it could possibly kill them. They have all the time in the world to "build up their immune system". Pediatricians actually recommend that you keep winter newborns inside the house and away from people for the first few weeks anyway. Y'all cut J-Lo some slack.

J Lo is right. People want to run up and kiss your new born babies with grubby hands and lots of germs. NO, newborns should not be exposed to lots of germs. That can happen as they get older, but visit any pediatric intensive care unit and you will always see babies with pneumonia and other illnesses that could have been prevented if the parents had used some common sense. People who take their newborns out and show them off are idiots!!. They really shouldn't be exposed to a lot of people until they've received their first 2 month vaccinations.

This isn't even half as bad as what individuals who enter hog houses must do prior to entering hog houses - They must shower on the premises, put on a steralized disposable jump suit, mask, and hat, enter the hog house and when leaving the hog houses they must dispose of these steralized get ups, and if entering another hog house, they must go through the same procedure. How about that!

if this is true, then this is very bad for her kids. we build our immune systems by being exposed to bacteria and disease at a young age, so when we are older our immune system can recognize the disease and fight it off with out making us feel sick. if her kids are never exposed to bacteria their immune systems won't be able to strengthen, which will mean when they are older and they finally get sick, it will be much, much worse than if they had gotten sick as at a young age. too much disinfecting and sanitizing will do more harm than good for a baby.
Thats actually a good thing to keep germs away from the babies. Twins tend to be a little early and getting sick can cause major problems. It's not being paranoid it's called being a good parent.

babies need to be exposed to germs in order to build up immunity; that sort of behavior does FAR more harm than good.

Although I can see why you have gone to such extreme means to safeguard your little ones and $$ is no object, sometime MORE is TOO MUCH. You want them to be save and have the best…believe it or not ALL of us parents do–and so we tend to "over do it". Honestly, all the security,material things and"only the best" is often the worst mistake we can make–kids need LOVE,ATTENTION,NURTURING and COMPANIONSHIP ONE TO ONE more than anything else. $$$ opens many doors but remember, you are who you are because both your parents worked hard,loved you and keap you grounded-protect your children,as a mother we can't help but do what comes naturally-but don't overwhelm them, we all need a touch of good old fashion love,attention and nurturing from our parents-that's where values and concepts are instilled–humility,compassion,the ability to feel what's right or wrong, to treat your fellow man as your friend not your servant. Using the twins as usual. She already pimped them out for $6 mil, for which none is going to charity. I hope she retires and we never hear from her again.
