4 Minutes To Save The World has finally surfaced and is making the rounds on all the Madge fansites.
Now, y'all know we worship Madonna, but…
- You can barely hear her singing.
- It's all about the beats. It overpowers the song.
- Those damn horns! Repeating on a loop!!! SO annoying!!!!!
- The melody is sacrified.
- And where is the chorus?
Sadly, the song sounds like something from one of Gwen Stefani's solo albums, right down to the "tick tock tick tock." Which is kinda funny, cuz we all know how majorly Gwen has been inspired by Madonna.
We're just not that into the song, unfortunately.
Maybe it will grow on us. We just prefer to love songs instantly.

Despite all the age thing (if you guys remember, Cher had a number 1 hit when she was… i dunno, fifty-something… she was doing dance music and they all called her crazy, but the song was still a hit), I think the song is okay. Have to hear it in HQ to be sure. I just think Madonna is losing a little of her edge. She used to be the leader (remember how electronica was so weird when Ray of Light came out, but became THE thing to do afterwards?), now it seems she's just the follower. She herself has said her new album is heavily influenced by Justin's. A little disappointing, but if she cranks out good stuff (I like The Beat Goes on better than 4 minutes), she's still fine in my book.
And I hope there's a ballad in there! I miss those, big time!

I definitely dont think this is the official track. It sounds more like a demo and hasn't been fully mixed yet. It's basically like any leaked track of Britney Spears. The leaked tracks sounded different to the tracks on the album cos they weren't fully mixed.

Geniuses - this song has not yet been "mastered" - a.k.a. "radio ready". Any time you have a song with heavy percussion in the premastering state, the percussive instruments overpower the vocals as do the horns. When it goes through the final stages of mastering and editing, the studio will adjust the levels.
