As a recovering heroin addict myself, I can tell you that it is heroin that does that. It could be something else, but it has happened to me. The thing is though, when this happened to me, I wasnt using "normal" amounts of heroin. "Normal" meaning, most junkies use between 1 and 3 points (measurement for heroin, there are 10 points in a gram) per day. When I got swollen like that, I was using between 15 and 20 points a day (1 and a half to two grams a day) in other words A SHIT LOAD OF HEROIN!!!!! A very dangerous amount. Youd be suprised how quickly some junkies can get to that amount! Unfortunatly, theres nothing anyone can do for her. I wanted to be clean for a long time very badly. More than anything. But couldnt do it because I could stand being in my own skin. I dont know what changed, but one of the hundreds of withdrawls I went through *WHICH IS THE WORST HELL EVER and you somehow go back to using knowing youre going to have to quite again* and one time… somehow… the last detox was the last. Im going on 3 years now and my boyfriend is on his 4th. I was hooked on and off for 10 years, he was for 15! We were both homeless. We are now buying a house and I own two businesses, we're both musicians and we help other addicts. If we could do it. She and ANYONE can!

Prednisone is a steriod that is giving to patients for all kinds of ailments, in this case, probably due to drug addiction…and liver damage. It makes your face super puffy after about a month of use.
