Poor Wino! The singer has an icky skin condition, her publicist has revealed!
Says her rep: "Amy has been diagnosed with impetigo which she's been told can be highly contagious. Because of that se's been put on antibiotics and may have to stay home alone for the next few days."
Impetigo is a bacterial skin infection. It causes red sores that can break open, ooze fluid, and develop a yellow-brown crust. These sores can occur anywhere on the body but most often appear around the mouth and nose.
According to many reports, Wino's back on the drugs. We have a feeling THAT might have something to do with her skin condition as well!

meth causes huge sores and its really easy to spot a serious abuser because of it..

Another name for the impetigo is commonly known as "Ringworm" It's cause by a fungus.
I'm confused because impetigo is a childhood disease.. And that looks like a black mass, impetigo looks more like blisters or pimples, it's a form of strep
This looks more like MRSA. It is a drug resistant staph infection. It is very common among IV drug users or people with bad immune systems. It is very common on the face and causes swelling like this. Remember the guy on Project Runway.

my kid had impetigo before, she got it from the public pool at camp last year, it is nasty, but it doesnt mean your dirty, or hang w/dirty people or things that are dirty. its like when you get a cold, you catch it, you cure it and get rid of it. we all know amy winehouse has meth face just like britbrit's face. shes been sporting the same blemish on the left side of her face near the chin since i can remeber. gross whores, stop picking at your faces. you look like shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is most likely a staf infection, my son had one and it was from an ear infection, he would scratch inside of his ear and break the skin. Most people live with the staf bacteria on their skin it is just when you break the skin that it gets in and yes it is very contageous.

I've had impetigo and don't think that's what's wrong with her face. To me, it looks like someone socked her in the face!! Impetigo causes sores, blistering and oozing–it's ugly. Wino's face looks like she took a "Big Hit"–there's discoloration and swelling.
impetigo typically has nothing to do with drugs, so i wouldn't take her having this as a sign that she is doing them again. staphylococcus bacteria live on the skin in a benign form on 80% of all people. and the forms which cause skin infections (of which there are many) are typically caught through average contact with other people, or with objects touched by those people–usually in places like schools, gyms, or medical facilities. the fact that she has this does not make her a "dirty" person–it is really quite common and easily treatable.

although this condition may not be sited as drug related, most street drugs and other can really destroy the body's normal mechanisms and lead to all sorts of malfunctioning of various cells. we know that impetego is not directly caused by the drug use, however the weakened immune system that is a result is the underlying factor. you or i could come in contact with the same virulent factor as amy has and not a single sign could manifest. because our armor is intact, and hers is most definitely not.
Impetigo is gross, if she would just wash her hands and face and stop putting her hands where they don't belongs then touching her face without washing them, then she would get impetigo.
